Keelin saw Mayfly's fluffy tail from the corner of his eye and squeezed the other cat's hand lightly. He started to lead Mayfly over to where the Alpha was seated. "Don't worry, he really is nice. I should know, we live together. Well, not together, but in the same house. You know..."

The firecat's ears were burning. Just something about Keelin's voice quality and the way he said the word "him." It was a vague notion at best. Ears swiveling, Ignatius glanced over his shoulder and a wing to see the white cat escorting another his way. He swiveled the chair around and spoke in his typical raspy voice: "Hello there."

Keelin patted Mayfly gently on the arm. "Ignatius, this is Mayfly."

He gestured to two vacant seats beside him. "Hello, Mayfly. I'm happy to meet you; would you like to sit with me?"

- - -

Lambert nodded and thought, That's Inari for you, he's obsessed with the stuff. He shrugged, grinning. "It's all part of the job, service with a smile. I'll be back soon with your food."

Mayfly hesitates slightly, eyeing the alpha warily, even with Keelin's reassurance that the other wouldn't hurt him, then very slowly bows to the alpha and sits down in one of the vacant seats. He opens his mouth, then closes it, unsure of what to say right then. "M-Mayfly thanks Alpha Ignatius for allowing Mayfly to sit here.." He says, looking firmly at the table in front of him.

~*~

Akito smiles again at Lambert, then nods. "Well, it's still nice of you. Not all businesses have such wonderful service." He says, smiling once more.

Keelin sat to the other side of Mayfly. He hoped that their new acquaintance would not think of this seating arrangement as "sandwiched" or "surrounded." Instead, for whatever nervousness Mayfly felt, he hoped that he would look at it as Keelin having his back.

Ignatius glanced over Mayfly's down-turned head, questioning Keelin silently. He did not require any sort of reply, but this kind of deference toward one's alpha was not normal, not anymore.

He looked back down at Mayfly and his smile was genuine. And his words were gentle. "You are welcome, Mayfly." But since he was not sure what exactly Mayfly came to see him about, he was not exactly sure how to proceed. "Would you like to eat here with me?"

- - -

"Oh, I guess not. Well, it's just that I'm a little new at this and I haven't got the hang of it yet. You probably noticed." The monkey blushed; he didn't mean to and he hadn't wanted to, but there you go. At least he had the presence of mind not to curse his disappointment. "But come back next week and I'm sure I'll have the frazzled, bitchy waiter attitude down no problem."

(( Oops. Bad Lambert, swearing in the presence of a customer. xP ))
PostPosted: Thu Dec 03, 2009 9:12 am

Mayfly shoots his eyes quickly over to Keelin, relief somewhat flooding his posture and making him relax slightly before he looks back up at the Alpha, then back down to the table. "M-Mayfly would like that, if Alpha really wants it? M-Mayfly is not a very... strong-willed person and thought maybe Alpha could help Mayfly learn?" There it was, his reason for coming here. He'd always been seen as something weak, something not to ever bother getting to know, let alone talking with, and had been abused much of his life. This is what led to his odd mode of speaking and his entire demeanor towards others.

~*~

Akito chuckles slightly at Lambert's response, then grins again. "Well, that would be a shame if that happened, although, you don't seem the type to turn bitchy, from what little I've observed of you." He says, smiling brightly at Lambert. "You know, if you are scheduled a break or lunch anytime soon, you could join me and we could talk some more if you wanted? I haven't met many others that I feel comfortable around, but, I feel comfortable talking with you so far."

Keelin exchanged surprised looks with the alpha. Not so long ago, this white cat had been what one could consider as weak willed. His rehabilitation, you could say, had come with life experience and responsibility, including that of raising a son. And Ignatius had in the past not been known for putting his foot down, especially with pack members. He seemed to have a 'live and let live' philosophy, or perhaps it was a more fatalistic one. He was not always the most talkative, nor simple... What a difficult request to make of Ignatius!

"Oh..." Ignatius scratched lightly behind his ear, momentarily nonplussed. Yes, he definitely was not sure how to approach this. But that did not mean Mayfly was out of luck. He smiled and nodded thoughtfully before glancing back up at Mayfly. "Yes... I think it would be best if you do. We could talk a little more about this, and I will see what I can do to help you out."

"Well then! How about if I make sure you both get something good to eat?" Keelin rose to his feet, a supportive hand on Mayfly's shoulder. He glanced at Ignatius, who nodded in Mayfly's direction: Mayfly should go first. "What would you like, Mayfly?"

- - -

"Really? Ah, okay..." He glanced around uncertainly, still feeling a little flustered.

Kallisto waved him down. "Hey, Lambert! You haven't been on break yet have you? Finish up with your customers and take one already."

The monkey nodded to the wolfbear and turned back to Akito with a grin. "How about when I bring your plate? It should be ready any time." He had no idea what they should talk about, but he wasn't inclined to say no, either.

Adalaid had found the darkest corner available and glanced around the room before relaxing into the chair. When Carlos approached and addressed him, the feline hybrid ignored him for a few moments to make himself a little more comfortable. A thick scarf was hardly necessary inside the warm building, and the minimal amount of tension was easy enough for him to shrug off. He pulled the scarf away from his neck gently before unwrapping it completely, draping it around his shoulders to make sure he wouldn't misplace it.

Satisfied enough, Ada's ears flicked in the direction of Carlos, taking into account how rude he had just been. He frowned slightly at his own behavior, wings flicking as he turned his face up towards the other feline hybrid. "Good evening," he finally said in a deep, rich, yet edged voice. He looked away and pulled off his sunglasses, tucking one of the ears into the neck of his shirt before turning his face upwards to face Carlos with the brightest blue eyes imaginable. It was no wonder he had chosen such a dark corner, his eyes being ridiculously sensitive to the light. "Is there anything that you would recommend?"

Jedediah's fluffy tail gave a few slight twitches, his ears twisting and turning towards the different noises and voices around him. Finally he focused in on the wolf-bear that had approached him and shrugged lightly. "A little more time wouldn't really do me any good," he murmured in a gruff, depressed tone of voice. "I'll have whatever kind of meat you've got and... a beer. I'm not very classy..."

Keller gave Ed a brief once-over and flashed him a cat-like, and rather crazed-- not that it was intentional, that was all natural-- smile. "Hello, good sir. You see, this poor baby right here," he gestured to Caelen by draping an arm around his shoulders and lightly tugging on the hybrid's left ear, "could use a drink that will wash away a terrible headache, emotional and physical pain, and... hm... do you have anything that will take care of those as well as years of unattended sexual energy? I don't think he's ever been laid, you see~" Keller, of course, sounded so concerned and caring that it was actually believable, if it was't for the crystal clear boredom in his eyes. "I'll take a glass of water. I'm not much of a drinker."

Caelen was too exhausted to fuss over Keller's enjoyment of irritating him with unwanted physical contact, but he did lay his ears back flat against his head to show how thoroughly displeased he was. "What I need is a drink that will make you disappear, but I'm sure there isn't a single liquid in the world that would destroy such a vile creature as you," he growled out rather pathetically. A few more hours left alone with Keller and he'd end up at the best mental asylum available, his brain being prodded and poked at by the best of the best, searching for answers as to what caused such a perfect melt-down.

"Oh my! That's a good one Caelen. Did you think of that all by yourself? I mean, it's absolutely hilarious! Such an original and unique comment. You must be so proud of yourself, coming up with something so witty and funny. Really, did you come up with that just now? All on your own? God, you're just so funny!" Keller's response was an enthusiastic one, the kind that had a tendency to creep people out. His smile was wide and demented, one that brought rather unpleasant images to the mind (such as 'I murdered your family with an icepick, Merry Christmas!'). The smile quickly disappeared and he looked to Ed, offering another unsettling, yet toned down, smile. "He's just a little cranky from all the lack of sex, you see~"

Ed lifted a brow. Keller was an... interesting fellow, obviously. A rare one. Hopefully they would leave soon. If not, they better pay well. "Well this isn't a matchmaking service but I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding someone tonight..." Of course he was referring to the plethora of customers out in the other room. So many cats tonight...

And this fellow, he noted, seemed to be Jimi's 'favorite' sort of cat. The wolf glanced at the unicorn before he could stop himself.

Jimi's tail flicked, otherwise he appeared completely uninterested. He was, in actuality, not listening, but that could not stop him from hearing. He sniffed idly at the absinthe; it was undoubtedly strong.

He swallowed it all at once then rose from his seat, hooves scuffing lightly on the floor. He fished around in his pocket and pulled out a lighter. "Looks like I've got just the stuff you two need." He set the bottle between them. "For you," he inclined his head to Caelen, "I'm sure this will make everything else disappear. And for your friend here," he set down the lighter, "put them together and he'll be gone on no time." It was incredibly harsh, but he just couldn't stand cats who think with their balls, even if it was all just talk. The combination pissed him off like nothing else.

He turned to head for the back door without glancing back, but called over his shoulder. "See ya 'round, Ed. I'll be back after the circus has left town."

The wolf's ears flattened on either side of his head. He doubted the influx of cats would abate anytime soon, not after Ignatius' invitation. He wasn't sure what Kallisto was thinking, but it was looking like the business would be really good for a long time to come. "Er, don't mind him, guys... Yes, we have the absinthe here but we have other stuff too."

- - -

Carlos was not impressed by Adalaid's rockstar attitude. There were two people he took bullshit from: his father and his boyfriend. He smiled faintly; it was less than friendly. "It seems like you aren't ready to decide. I would probably suggest something to drink in the meantime." While you pull your head out of your a**, he added to himself. And also in the meantime, the hybrid could take a convenient 'smoke break,' (not that he smoked, personally), ditch Adalaid and make someone else deal with him.

- - -

Kallisto shrugged and grinned but grimaced a little while he spoke. "I'd be worried if you were. This place isn't really classy either..." He was being perhaps a little modest, but it was a new establishment and if someone classy really did arrive he wouldn't know how to handle it. "However, we don't serve alcohol in this part of the restaraunt. I could show you to the game room if you want. We do serve food there, appetizers or a full meal, like maybe a steak...?"
PostPosted: Thu Dec 17, 2009 3:35 am

Adalaid hadn't meant for his attitude to be a 'rockstar' one, and it hadn't been his intention to flick Carlos any bullshit. He squinted a bit, the little light that reached the area he had chosen bothering his eyes. However, it wasn't excruciating pain like it would have been at any of the other unoccupied areas. "Water will be fine," he said with a small nod of his head, noting that he had already somehow made the other less-than-friendly. He was unaware how he had accomplished such a task, as it was not something he would ever want to do. But there was little he could do about misinterpretations.

---

Jedediah thought for a few moments before shaking his head lightly. "Ah, just as well. It's getting late and it's a long way home. Sorry about that," he said quietly, nodding his head at the mention of steak. "Steak it will be, then." He waited a moment before shifting awkwardly in his seat, glancing towards Kallisto. "Ah... thank you."

---

Keller arched a brow as Caelen was quick to pick up the lighter and place a hand around the bottle. Was he seriously considering committing such an act? The vampire certainly wasn't about to leave just as things were going to get interesting. No, he wanted to see if the hybrid had the guts to even attempt something like that. But before he knew it, the party was over. Joseph's hand was quickly on his arm, pulling him out of his seat.

"I think it's time for you to go now," he stated plainly, watching as the vampire-feline obediently turned and exited the establishment. He then sat himself down beside Caelen. "Whiskey on the rocks?" His left ear gave a light flick, waiting patiently until he received a small nod from Caelen. Smiling lightly, he looked to Ed. "Two of those, then." Slowly his green eyes looked to the bottle and lighter, both of which Caelen was still holding onto. This made an unsettling expression pass over the feline's face. "I don't think you'll be needing those anymore, Cae."

It was a moment or two before Caelen reluctantly released the bottle and placed the lighter back onto the counter-top, reaching up to rub his forehead. "It's nice to have some good company." The hybrid flicked his tail and waited a few long moments before looking to Joseph. "Keep the talking to a minimum."

Mayfly blinks, looking from one to the other timidly before dropping his gaze to his lap, tail fuzzing slightly. Obviously, he was not used to being put on the spot like this, so, it took him awhile to get his mind in order. Looking back up at Keelin, he gulps slightly, then speaks in a low, tremoring voice. "M-Mayfly w-would like s-salmon if t-that is alright p-p-please?"

~*~

Akito smiles brightly at Lambert and nods, taking a small sip of the tea the other had brought for him. "Alright. It'd be nice if we could become friends. Needless to say, I've never had one before."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 17, 2009 3:14 pm

The unicat nodded to his customer's request. "All right. I'll be right back with that and when you're ready to make your order, wave one of us down and we'll be right with you." Carlos attempted another smile which not only was part of the job but his nature to do, before heading off for the pitcher and a clean glass. He wasn't actually going to ditch a customer, even a ruder one than this. But he had been tempted to for a moment there.

- - -

"It's really no trouble. There are tables like this over there. It's just that..." Kallisto frowned a little, how to put this? "I decided to make it policy to keep alcohol separate from the family part of the restaraunt because growing up I'd seen what it can easily do to people. It's unconventional and may seem a little extreme but I did want to try it out and see if it would work out, you know?" The result had been both a restaraunt and a sports bar in the same building. Both were equally nicely furnished, lit, and served, they were just different. Just like the play area was for the children. "Anyway! Either place you can have your steak. Whichever you prefer."

- - -

(( Bad Jimi, you evil, corrupting force you. XD;; <3 ))

Ed let out a breath he didn't realize he had been holding. He was going to give that unicorn a stern talking to. Just what he was going to say he had no idea. After all, he was probably partially working out his warped sense of justice, that is sticking up for the tormented individual (Caelen). The harshness however was uncalled for. He cleared his throat and gave them a toothy grin. "Whiskey on the rocks it is, then."

It occurred to him that, while he was working on their drinks and they had set to talking amongst themselves, the one who had left might run into Jimi on their way out. Hopefully that would not be the case...! When he was finished he turned back to Caelen and Joseph, setting their drinks before them. "Enjoy yourselves, guys."

- - -

Keelin smiled, very pleased. "That's an excellent choice! How would you like it served? We have thick steaks that are served with vegetables and rice, potato, or noodles... We have a nice pasta dish that has salmon and mussels... or, um... yes..." He stopped short with a look from Ignatius. Too many choices, perhaps?

From the other side of Mayfly, the alpha swallowed a chuckle.

- - -

"Oh, er... you haven't?" How was that possible? Someone like this? "Well... you do now. My name is Lambert by the way..." he grinned brightly and held out his hand.

Mayfly blinks rapidly at the choices, finding himself unable to decide what he should choose. Looking up at Ignatius, he fidgets slightly, then looks back down at the table. "M-Mayfly wonders what Alpha would r-recommend to eat..? M-Mayfly is not u-used to having to choose from so much, as M-Mayfly normally can only afford to eat out of the g-garbage..." He stammers, ears and tail drooping as he spoke.

~*~

Akito smiles again, a somewhat sad smile, then shakes his head. Looking up at the others hand, he smiles wider and carefully accepts the others hand, shaking it gently. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Lambert. I hope we can be good friends. I do not remember if I introduced myself earlier or not, but my name is Akito."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 17, 2009 4:07 pm

Ignatius' eyes widened briefly. He smiled warmly to Mayfly. "Well do not worry about your bill for the evening, I'll cover it for you. Get whatever you'd like, and however much you'd like."

Keelin piped in, "The salmon steak would tend to weigh heavier in your belly, it's pretty solid. The pasta is lighter but allows you to order other things, like dessert." He grinned mischievously at Ignatius. If Mayfly was smart he'd take the opportunity to do just what the alpha suggested and totally stuff his face.

- - -

In all honesty, Lambert had no friends outside of back home. Akito was the first... it was strange and wonderful, a new friend just like that. "Me too... it's a wonderful name," he grinned with a swish of his prehensile tail. He released Akito's hand and stepped back. "Well... I should go get your food. I'll be back..."

Mayfly blinks, carefully thinking about Ignatius and Keelin's words, tail tip twitching the slightest bit. "Mayfly w-would like to t-try pasta, p-please?" He says softly, looking up at Ignatius and Keelin for a moment in utter gratitude before looking back down at his lap. He briefly wondered why he hadn't been thrown out due to his lack of clothing, not noticing any others in the other room.

~*~

Akito smiles and nods, pushing his glasses back up his nose briefly as they attempted to slide down. "Alright. See you when you get back then, Lambert."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 24, 2009 2:07 pm

(( *cackle* No one will be kicked out for being a nudist in this place. They'd have to toss Iggy out first if they did... xB Of course I'm sure Jimi would be the first to enforce it, in that case. >_>; ))

Keelin nodded. "Okay! Would you like anything to drink with it, besides water?"

- - -

Lambert grinned and nodded. "All right, then..." Without another word he disappeared, but with a definite bounce in his step. Akito's plate was ready to go within moments. Meanwhile the monkey put together a cup of cocoa for himself. With both ready to go, he returned after only a few minutes after leaving the table.

"Here you are." He set the plate down in front of Akito as if he were serving anyone else. Then he set his own cup down and sat down across from his new friend. "I hope you like it."

(( lol True, but that doesn't stop Mayfly from thinking such thoughts, considering he's a stray that lives on the street. XD ))

Mayfly blinks slowly in thought, face tilted down so his long white hair hung down around him, almost like a blanket to hide under, before he spoke again. "H-hot c-cocoa p-please?" He asks in a voice almost too soft to hear.

~*~

Akito grins, watching Lambert leave and sips on his tea. Looking up at the monkey's return, he smiles once again, then smells the air appreciatively. "It smells heavenly. Whoever cooked this knows exactly how to spice things, it smells like." He says, taking a small bite of the food before nodding. "Yeah, this is most excellent." He then turns his attention back to Lambert. "So, I'm rather new to this making friends thing, so, is there any particular protocol or do we just talk about our likes and dislikes?" He asks, tilting his head slightly.
