"That could be dangerous in and of itself." Roxanna said, showing a slight bit of irritation. "And you play along with it I see?"

Eulalia Danae "That could be dangerous in and of itself." Roxanna said, showing a slight bit of irritation. "And you play along with it I see?" "He is in charge. And I honestly don't want the time I choose to go and get a latte to be the time he's right, and something bad DOES happen."

Roxanna still held a slight scowl. "This time you could have gotten your latte." She let out a long sigh, sitting down on the grass, her dress and hair drying, but slowly. "Why is he so panicked? Is it a personality disorder?" Her smile twitched, "Wouldn't be the first time I've come across one of those."

He wants to protect and help people, yet a friend, or an associate, whichever you want to say, is dead now. He feels he failed Nicholas, and you."

"His job is not to protect me, or Nicholas. He shouldn't expect that of himself. Nicholas and I both were being foolish. There's nothing more to it," She lied. "Now, I believe you've done your job, if you'd kindly let me be alone."

Lou nodded, turning away from Roxanna, and left the same way he came.

Arch the Angel "Give you all the benefit of a doubt and not go straight to the cops with all of this. Other than that, go back to my life as was. If I have to beat down some coward with a knife again, then I'll do so, assuming his friend doesn't take him out. The big guy let me go when we were on the boat." Roxanna bristled slightly at the thought of it, and was about to make a sharp retort but held it back, remaining cool and composed as ever. "Then you'd best get back to returning to that life of yours and untwine yourself from this one as soon as possible. I'll have my driver drop you off at your car. Keep the clothes, I won't be needing them back." She paused, "And it would be best for all parties if you refrain from attempting anymore communication. I'll take care of Kat, at least to the best of my abilities."

Jeffery sighed, glancing over at Kat. "She gonna be alright, Doc?"

"As far as can be seen," The doctor grunted, finishing up with Kat's bandages. "It depends on how well the girl rests and if the wound stays clean.
Kat looked at him sleepily from the couch. Her eyes were a silvery grey with a barely noticeable undertone of violet. "You're going?" She asked, " Aren't you going to say goodbye? You haven't even told me your name."

"Yeah, I'm heading out, Kat." He smiled, walking over to her, giving her a slight hug. "Hell if I even know if I should get that much involved, but the name's Jeffery. Try not to get shot again." He stood up, nodding to Roxanna. "Thanks for the clothes, take care kid." He smiled again, heading for the door.

"Come now, it wasn't that bad." Kat placed a light kiss on his cheek during the hug, whispering a thank you. She leaned back against the couch, looking slightly morose.
Roxanna gave him a nod. "Fare well yourself, Jeffery."

"Sure, I wasn't the one shot anyways." He smiled, nodding again to both of them, heading for the door. "I don't believe any of this, but I'm here if you need help kid, find me at Reynolds."

Roxanna waved him off, shaking her head as she muttered about him being a stupid, stubborn man, and went back to make sure Kat was doing all right. She then took the opportunity to cut scene, as Kat was further cleaned up, fed and the bloody couch was disposed of. And so ended the very long and tiring day. (For continuity, events between Jeffery and Rook take place at the high school before returning to this thread)

After two days of forced rest and relaxation, as well as food, a comfy bed, and a good long shower, Kat cleaned up rather nicely. The black dye was finally out of her hair, leaving it shining it's natural warm rusty color, and though her wound still hurt like a b***h, she could walk without a noticeable twinge.
Despite it all, Kat had gotten restless locked up in house after being locked up in a dungeon, and needed air. So she took herself out for a walk down one of the local strip malls. She kept her hair tucked up in a hat, and wore a pair of shades as well, enjoying the sun in the process.

Rook had spent those same two days following Jeffery's trail back to the high streets, to Roxanna's house, to be exact. And so, he hid underneath a well-to-do schoolboy's skin, walking the same stretch after Kat. He had wanted to speak with her outside of the house, so as not to intrude. "So, Miss Kat. Lovely day, is it not?"
