Blinking like a flashlight being flicked on and off, she tried to make amends. "Or we could get whatever you like Itzel," she said with a quick smile. She didn't understand why she had given her that look, but whatever it was for, Aubril wanted to make sure she didn't get Itzel mad or anything.
She nuzzled Itzel as she came close. "I want to know what the cold is like! Either than... cold," Aubril admitted with a giggle. "At least we can keep each other warm, right?"
Aubril went quiet to let Itzel doze. She was too eager to sleep and kept watch over the entrance. How long could they be? She hoped they weren't far.

With a rustle of bushes outside, the rain still coming down in mass quantities, Runner was the first to appear into the cave once more. Her scales glistening in the light of the lightening. Teal eyes peered about the cave once again noting that the foals were still there, thank goodness for that. Neck craning a little behind her, she let out a soft whistle. The whistle being to tell her bond that the foals were still where she had left them. Dipping her head, Runner scampered over towards Itzel and Aubril, pressing her head against their warm sides again. A small shiver escaped the Norora was getting cold, having been running through the wet, wind and noises, it seemed that even Runner could get worn down. Ashia had been out looking for her girls, her mate keeping an eye on the oldest, but her younger two were still missing. Her voice had been lost within the storm only reaching as far as the wind would take it, that wasn't far. Standing under then minimal shelter of a bent tree. She had sent Runner out to see if the Norora could find them, she was quicker in the thick bushes and such. Still Ashia worried, both for her girls and Runner. This weather wasn't fit for anyone to be out within. She had almost given up hope that her girls were still nearby, foolish she had told herself for wanting to move on such a day.
Frowning some, she closed her eyes against the flashes of lightening that were starting to get on her already frayed nerves when Runner returned. Looking to the Norora, she wondered if she had found anything. The Norora tugged on a forelock and headed back the direction it had come. That settled it, Runner HAD found something. Her heart beating anewed with hope, Ashia dashed back into the wet again. Following Runner through the trees and bushes, a couple times loosing sight of her bonded creature, but managed to find each other again.
"Where are they Runner?" Ashia had asked when she came to the cave and Runner vanished into the cave. Puzzled, Ashia headed that way too, seemed like the best place to go, hoping her girls were smart enough to take shelter, she knew Wystan didn't much care for getting his wings wet and she hoped Itzel's hadn't either. Poking her head into the cave, eyes adjusting to the darkness, she spotted to small shapes in the back.
"Itzel? Aubril?" she called out to the two small forms as she noticed Runner pressing against them with her cold, wet head trying to get in between them some how.Itzel was dreaming this time, it was warm, summer like even and the skies were cloud free. She was with her family and Runner, it was a nice day. They were all by a stream and the water was cold, suitable for the kind of day it was. Shivering both in her dream as she was splashed and in the waking world, she opened her eyes peering groggily towards Runner as she tried getting in between Itzel and Aubril.
"Runner? Wha..." She didn't finish as she heard a familiar voice. "Mother?" Still thinking she were dreaming, Itzel didn't react too quickly.

In what felt like ages to Aubril but was really only a relatively short time, Runner reappeared. The soggy lizard tried to burrow in between the foals, making Aubril squeak and giggling a little at the feeling of her cold scales. Poor Runner must be ready for a nice warm nap! Then a familiar face poked into the cave, followed by questioning calls.
"Momma!" Aubril called back, resisting the urge to get up and dash towards her. She wanted to stay with Runner and Itzel, just in case. Still her body quivered in her excitement, the filly smiling widely. Then she reached over Runner to nudge Itzel, who was still sleepy and not entirely sure what was going on. "Wake up Itzel! It really is mom!"

Ashia's ears perked up when she heard one of the forms, well both had answered, but one seemed less sure then the others. That must have been Itzel, she was always the one who didn't wake up too easily. Pulling herself into the cavernous cave, she headed over to her girls and nuzzled against them. She was glad that they were alright and that they were together. "Thank goodness you girls are alright. I worried that something had happened when this storm came up." Ashia said, still shaking a little more out of worry then the cold. "Your father and sister are safe too, safe at home."
By now her eyes were wide open as her mother nuzzled against her and her sister. She was happy to see her mother, to be near her again. The storm had really knocked it out of her. Yawning, Itzel slowly stood, even if Runner grunted in disapproval being that she was finally getting warmed up again. "Momma, I'm hungry." She protested, still yawning. It was going to be a long night if this storm carried one the way it was going. "Did you bring us something to eat?"
Ashia frowned a little, when Itzel said that she was hungry. She hadn't thought about that, so she didn't really have anything for her daughters. Well she did, but they were too old to be suckling. Still, in times like this they had to do with what they had. Stepping over closer to her girls, she nosed at Aubril then at Itzel. "Sorry dears, I didn't bring anything but I you can sickle for this one time. It will have to hold you over until this storm passes." She nodded sadly.
Itzel wandered over to one side of her mother and stuck her head under to the teat. Then she started to suckle, the warm milk quenching her thirst and quieted her stomach. It was a welcomed relief to her. She hated it when her stomach made its hungry noises and she didn't have anything to quiet it with. After a few minutes she moved away and to let her sister have a turn. Lapping her own face the best she could, Itzel wandered over to where Runner was still laying and laid near he again.
Outside, the wind was dying down and the rain was starting to let up. The air was still cold, there was a certain bite to it that could chill even the warmest Norora to the bone if they were out in it too long. Thankfully, Runner snuggled up close to Itzel while she waited for the others to settle. They weren't really going anywhere until morning, at least Runner hoped so... A yawn came from the Norora's muzzle as she curled up into a ball as close to Itzel as she could. Sleep was a good thing, that it truly was.

Standing pressed up against Ashia's foreleg for a moment, Aubril moved to gratefully take a drink too, to tide herself over until they could go find food. It was warm and comforting, and so was Ashia's presence. The foal believed that now her mother was here, everything would be okay. As much as she tried to act brave or strong she was still young and scared to be alone. Once she was finished she lingered by Ashia's side, basking in the mare's warmth. A moment passed before she moved again, going to the other side of Runner and snuggled up to her and her sister.
Before she knew it Aubril had drifted off to sleep listening to the ebbing storm.

Ashia had flinched at the cold muzzles, but smiled at her daughters as they fed and settled back down. Stepping carefully over towards her girls, Ashia laid down beside them. Her back to the entrance of the cave so that if a wind did happen to blow it wouldn't chill them. Ears ever alert, she laid her head down on the ground to doze. Everyone was safe, for that, Ashia was very grateful.
