Lovely answer! The Bible actually touches on that issue in a few places. I'm not a Bible master, so I do not know exactly where. D=

I do know that it is usually expressed in terms of knowledge vs. wisdom. Many times, it is depected that a person cannot be truely knowledgable unless they possess wisdom.

Also, I do not consider a mean person a smart person. I do not care how much information or questions you can spew at me; if one is mean, they lack the mental capacity of logic: maximizing good and minimizing bad. As such, it is impossible, I believe, for a person to be intelligent and mean at the same time.

Thank you for bringing that up! =D

I think that intelligence has a lot to do with one's ability to communicate. A tortured genius may be tortured because he cannot gather his thoughts into a coherent sentence. I also know that knowledge is NOT the same thing as intelligence. The ability to memorize facts and regurgitate them means nothing if you know not what you are saying.

I just thought of this, but I think that possibly one of the rules for this forum at least (since we may discuss something controversial) or maybe the entire guild should be that any and all ideas said in here should stay in here, for the sake of confidentiality. I know that many people in here have strong beliefs and may not want to say them anyplace but here perhaps. A confidentiality rule would safeguard these people.

Hey, I love that idea! =D
It would be very fortunate.

My idea about what is said in here, stays in here? or about the communication as the key to intelligence?

I was referring to the first one, but the second is also very true. Closed-mindedness is choosing to remain ignorant. Therefore, communication is key to intelligence.

So thank you for agreeing with me on the first idea.

Closeminded in the sense that a mind is unable to communicate with the outside (as in literally closed to the world) would of course affect how one is perceived and thus how much intelligence one is perceived to have. Intelligence is more a measure of what you understand but if you can't explain it yourself or the world then you don't know anything.

Closemindedness in the more commonly used sense prevents the gaining of knowledge and understanding, so yes, in two senses communication allo on to become wise=understanding.

Intelligence is, I think a measure of what we understand, which is related to wisdom because wisdom is gained through experience, while knowledge is basically just how much one memorizes.
