Masozi, right. That was what she was calling that little boy. He wouldn't remember a few minutes for now, but he could pretend to be a decent father for a few moments. ...Wait, wasn't that counter-productive? Why would he want to appear to be a good father? That would only encourage the bloody zebra in her pursuit to make him actually be decent...
The giggles coming from the young girl at the way Criofan's face was visibly twisting brought Criofan back to reality. Right, he had a toddler. Ugh... "Why would I want to name her? She's your kid." Looked like Criofan had settled on appearing as awful as possible, despite playing a curious game with the little child earlier.
"Wouldn't you want to name her? You're gonna be stuck with her for the rest of eternity, after all." That sounded suitably awful. Criofan smirked, though he subconsciously brought the child closer to him anyway as if he secretly didn't want Amapola to walk off in a huff with the little girl who was delighted by her shiny leprechaun father.

Amapola sighs. "You know, if you don't want to spend time with her today, you only have to tell me. Don't pretend you want any part of this if you really don't." Her ire's rising up again. Men could be so infuriating! "Just say the word and I'll take both of them and go home, and you'll never see any of us again."
"But I wish you wouldn't. For their sake, not mine. I wouldn't mind at all never seeing you again, because you're selfish and conceited and just plain mean. But look at her! She's absolutely delighted with you! She loves you, Criofan O'Kane. And you'd have to be completely heartless not to see that."

Why would he want to spend time with the child? Why would he ever want to spend time with the child? Was she off her rocker? There were plenty of other things he could be doing besides caring for a young girl. He would be fine not seeing her ever again, because then he could be doing all of those other things that she would block him from doing!
Now why the hell couldn't he say that to the blood zebra's face. Looking even more vexed, he spat, "I am completely heartless! I don't care about anything one way or another!" He gathered the little girl even closer, completely contradicting everything he was insisting with simple gestures.
The little girl only giggled at her father's reddening (in infuriation) face, and that only seemed to send Criofan into more frustrated range. "And if you'd let me have the choice, I'd have nothing to do with you! You're too nice, too persistent, won't go away and won't learn when to stop yapping on and on like some kind of a broken jukebox!"

"Fine, I'll be gone, but first you have to give my daughter back to me." She folds her arms over her chest.
Mama was angry. Masozi doesn't like when Mama is angry. But she didn't seem to be angry at him, which was confusing. She looked like she was angry at the tall yellow person. That must mean he's bad. Masozi sticks his tongue out at Criofan and frowns, his little brow furrowing with the effort.

"No!" What! How was that supposed to help his argument! Well, it would suitably confuse her, yeah! Confusing her was good. "She's mine! You can't have her! She's my property!" The leprechaun thought of everything in terms of belonging. Apparently, the little girl he was cuddling was now part of his extensive horde of shiny objects.
Why was the little boy making such a weird face at him?! Stupid kids! Criofan stuck his tongue out at the stripey yellow and black boy--whatever his name was--before swirling around to face the opposite wall for no quite clear reason. "Now go away! You gave her to me, so she's mine! Keep the sun zebra boy, will you?!"
They were making quite a family, weren't they? The Blood Zebra had a Sun Zebra kid... amused, he snickered to himself, which the little girl delightfully copied, obviously utterly enamoured with the father who was somewhat unsuccessfully pretending to not want anything to do with her.

"I am not leaving her with you!" exclaims Amapola. "You've proven yourself to be irresponsible and you've said yourself you don't want anything to do with her! You don't know anything about raising a child!" She shakes her head, disgusted. "You only want her as a novelty, the same way a child finds a lost puppy and wants to keep it. She's a person. Now give her back and we'll be gone."

She insulted him and then expected him to give something back?! Why would he do that?! Criofan turned over his shoulder to stick his tongue out immaturely before he stalked off towards the living room, still holding the little girl tightly in his arms in some odd refusal to hand her over.
That seemed totally contradictory to most everything he had said to that point, and was certainly very odd. Why would he want to keep her around if she was just going to get in the way or if he would be happy to never see her again or if he would be happy to have nothing to do with Amapola or the children again?
...But he still wasn't handing her over, for some reason, and the little girl he was holding didn't particularly seem to be complaining. If anything, all the shouting seemed to be amusing her, and she was bouncing up and down clapping, almost attempting to encourage it in her own childish way.

"You are so...infuriating!" she exclaims. She notes with some amount of sadness that her little girl looked so happy with him. Amapola had never seen the little glowbright child with so much energy. Perhaps she wanted to stay with her irresponsible father.
After a long moment of thinking, Amapola sighs. "Fine. You can take care of her...just make sure if something happens you get your brother to help you, alright? I don't want her to get hurt." She shifts Masozi to her other hip.

Zaria seemed excited when she heard her mother's suggestion, perhaps understanding some part of her ramblings to mean defeat. She poked her father's chest and grinned at him, though Criofan was pouting now that the fun argument was over. In a way, he liked fighting things.
...Of course, he always won. That was the rule. He turned back around, quirking a brow at Amapola as she held her yellow-black clone child. "Alright, fine," he rolled his eyes, now seeming like a immature, stubborn teenager. "Don't worry, she's not gonna die. You think I'd let something of mine get hurt?" He was still referring to her as some kind of possession, but perhaps that was the best they were going to get out of him right now.
"You can take little sun zebra to the beach." Then, in a way that may have been a compliment or an insult, he continued, "You know, he looks almost exactly like you."

Amapola lets out a soft amused snort. "Exept for the yellow," she remarks. "And his one blue eye." She smiles lovingly at the little boy and shifts his weight higher with a little hup! noise. "Alright, well...we'll be gone now...please send word telling me her name. That is, of course, if you ever decide to give her one."
Wait, they were leaving? Without sister? Masozi begins to fuss, making grabby hands toward his beloved twin.

Criofan glanced down at the little girl, who seemed much more interested in attempting to grab the shamrock on his chest than paying attention to her grabby handed little brother. "Zaria," randomly decided Criofan, glancing back over at Amapola. "Zaria O'Kane."
Zaria seemed to agree with this name, bouncing up and down in Criofan's arms and clapping. Then, she turned to Masozi and Amapola and waved, assuming her brother and mother were leaving her, and not completely aware that Masozi was trying to get her to come back closer to him. She attempted to mouth something, but no real sounds came out, so she went back to laughing.
"Awfully cheerful little one," remarked Criofan, quirking a brow.

"Zaria then. It's a nice name," she says with a half-smile. She shushes Masozi, trying to calm him. "It's alright, love," she says, kissing Masozi's head.
"Well..." says Amapola to Criofan. "Perhaps I'll be seeing you around." She shrugs slightly. "Goodbye." She turns to leave.
Masozi begins to wail, reaching for Zaria with all the might his little chubby toddler arms possess.

"Bye then." Unlike Amapola and her son, Criofan seemed relatively unconcerned about the two of them leaving. If anything, he seemed remotely happy. That meant that he won this match, though he wouldn't quite realize to what expense that came until later on. For now, though, arguing like an idiot had been very fun...
Zaria tilted her head at the wailing Masozi, if anything seeming a little uncertain as to why her older brother was wailing. She was happy enough, and she didn't see why Masozi wouldn't be happy either. Masozi liked Mommy, right? Zaria liked Daddy! Giggling, she clung to him.
Criofan glanced down at the little girl. Hrm... now what was he supposed to do with it?
