Hikaru let out a soft little yelp as she suddenly spoke. Out of the two lionesses, she was the one that caused him to squirm and break out in a sweat in his sleep. He was up instantly, following her to whatever location she wanted.

Kaoru was up before she swiped at them. He frowned inwardly when his twin yelped. Early on he'd learned to keep his mouth shut tight unless he was asked something. Hikaru on the other hand could not hold back yelps or whimpers. He followed just as quickly, not wanting to anger such a dangerous lioness.

Hikaru jumped to the side, not wanting to be struck by it again. His face started to throb around the scars at the memory. Though it had spooked him, he straightened himself out and followed until the lioness dissipated.

Kaoru winced as the spiked tail swung at his brother, wanting to jump in the way. He bit down on his lip and looked away, following closer to ignore it. When swirls of something like smoke took place of the lioness he stopped as well.

As the two cubs followed the smoke-like spirit up the side of the unforgiving mountain, they encountered falling rock, large boulders, and nests with angry birds that would fly out and peck at them until they were higher up and away from them. At one point Hikaru's paw got wedged as a boulder rolled over it, trapping him while birds pelted them both. After a few failed attempts of Kaoru ramming his shoulders into the boulder, it finally gave way and tumbled to the ground far below. When they finally reached the top both were panting and drenched in sweat, Hikaru limping.

Hikaru whimpered, laying on his belly as the dark spirits were thrown at them. His hind paws nearly lost their footing until he was yanked back up by his scruff. "I...don't want to do this Kaoru...just...leave me here or...push me off the side...I can't walk any more..." Tears fell to the hard dirt beneath him.

Kaoru nearly lost his footing as well, but managed better and pulled his brother back up by the scruff of his neck. He licked and nuzzled his brother's cheek, trying to comfort him. "Your paw did get hurt pretty bad..." Without another word Kaoru pulled Hikaru up onto his back and began the decent.

It took twice as long and there were several time both cubs had nearly fallen to their deaths. But both finally lay inside the cave on their bellies, panting and whimpering.

Hikaru shrunk down to the ground further as Persephone loomed over them, whimpering. He closed his eyes tightly expecting to be smacked, but looked up wide eyed to watch Kaoru fly into a wall of the cave. "Kaoru!!" Swallows hard, tears welling up in his eyes. "Wh...what are you planning...?"

Kaoru nuzzled his brother's cheek, tensing as the twin walked closer. He let out a loud cry as he felt himself flung through the air, then smacking into the cold cave wall and landing on the ground, whimpering. Slowly he turned to face them, shaking in horror. "D..don't touch him!"

Hikaru lay on his belly, next to the wall, a habit he'd started since that horrible day. Shudders ran down his bigger body as the memories flooded through him. He hadn't been able to look his brother in the eye since then, his head constantly down and eyes lowered to the ground.

Kaoru had grown numb, still watching over his brother. It was obvious to him that Hikaru was ashamed of that night, even though he knew it wasn't his fault. He could never blame his brother for what that wicked creature did. "Hikaru..."

Both twins get up as soon as Persephone speaks, knowing full well things could get ugly if they didn't obey her every word. Hikaru presses against his brother who nuzzles his cheek comfortingly.

Hikaru moved away from her as quickly as he could, off looking without needing a push or prompt. He'd prefer freezing in the snow then being in a warm cave with her...A shiver ran down his body as he hunkered down and began looking around.

Kaoru nodded and followed his brother's lead, staying low to avoid the wind as much as possible. Since he'd been forced to watch Hikaru being deflowered, emotions had slipped from his reach. One of the few that remained was protectiveness over Hikaru, that, he hoped, would never change.

Hikaru kept moving quickly until he was well beyond a rather large hill, nearly sinking under the snow multiple times. When he finally stopped though he began shuddering uncontrollably. With a soft whimper he hunkered down, looking for his brother fearfully. "K...Koaru...?"

Kaoru kept up with his brother until he sunk into the snow with a yelp. It colapsed over him, trapping him completally, except for his head. "H...Hikaru! I'm stuck!" Scans the area, his body shaking from the cold.
