“Yeah. That’s a nice thing. And Isonth, of course. Hanumanth is very fond of Isonth.” Which was mildly worrying since C’ym was pretty certain that the Green would soon be mature enough for her first Flight. Much to C’ym’s relief, his Bronze had thus far shown very little interest in Rising Greens and downright ignored the Queens. But… that would change, he was certain, if one of his female friends took to the skies.
Oh Faranth. What about Yansanth?! C’ym’s smile froze at that thought as he tried not to let his imagination explore this further. He was pretty certain he would just smile more and… yeah. Creepy. Um. Um. He tossed the idea to the back of his mind, for later exploration. “Um.” He desperately sought for a decent conversation topic and was unable to find one. So he settled for one that was merely unpleasant instead of indecent.
“So… since Favan is out of the Weyr now, what does that make you?” he asked curiously.
Hanumanth puffed out his chest proudly. If Mine could catch a fish, then I surely can! he said proudly, feeling very tough and manly at the moment. The effect was mildly spoiled by his mewl as he let his breath back out. I mean… I love Mine, but he’s MINE.
“Hey! Han!” C’ym blurted out loud at that little comment and stared at his dragon incredulously.
But it’s true! You are Mine and you’ve got funny ways… and you’ve always told me to be honest about things. Ok! He would totally get a fish for Yansanth! Now he just had to remember… oh.
Right. He couldn’t remember.

"Isonth and La are Dears," Annelie commented as she nodded in agreement. Luckily -- no, seriously, it was a really good thing -- she didn't think further into the ideas, and didn't get the thoughts that C'ym got. If she had, then their conversation would have ended in about two minutes, because she would have gotten as red as a tomato and too embarrassed to talk or even look at him.
That type of reaction didn't mean, however, that she had never... thought about all that, because she did -- it was inevitable, especially with Yansanth growing older each day (duh) -- but she preferred to give those things thought in the privacy of her own weyr. ....NOT OUTSIDE WITH OTHER PEOPLE.
Buuut at that point in time, the young woman failed to think of THAT possibility...Question...Thing. ...Crisis adverted.
Blinking, Annelie glanced at the ground for a second before she gave a small shrug. "I d--" she stopped suddenly when C'ym gave a shout at Han. She stared at the man, and then glanced at the dragons, unsure of what Han had said. Obviously it hit something with His.
But anyways. ...
"I don't really know. If I've moved in rank, well... Helirra hasn't told me." What WAS she now, actually?
Yansanth tilted her head at the bronze's sudden show of...bravado, but gave a snort and a croon at his mewling shortly after. He was different than the other bronzes, that was for sure, and the gold liked that -- who needed a pig-headed bronze!?
Oh, Mine can catch fish! Yansanth began, but then she too was cut off with words from Hers.
I've never caught a fish in my life, Yan. I can clean, cut and cook fish, not catch them.
Oh... Yansanth sighed, a little put-out. But she perked up again and spoke back to Hanumanth, despite him already speaking to His.
I mean, Mine can clean, cut and cook fish, Han! So catch a fish!

“I’ve heard that La and Isonth are dragonhealers now. I mean… La is. But I’m sure Isonth does her part too. It’s impossible to imagine her not doing her part. I feel like I ought to go visit them but it would seem… rude, interrupting their work.” And logic argued that you should never interrupt a spirited girl when she didn’t want to be interrupted, especially if she would, sooner or later, end up treating your wounds. Of course, the fact that Healers still snickered and called C’ym ‘soupcrotch’ factored in there somewhere.
Especially if he went there with Annelie. Oh shards… “Sorry,” he said sheepishly, only then realizing he had yelled out Han’s name out loud. “Um. He said that, since I can catch a fish, it can’t be that difficult. He wants to catch a fish for Yansanth, I think.”
Not just ‘want’. I will catch a fish for her! Hanumanth bugle-mewled in response, holding his head high. It was all a game to him, a chance for him to splash around in the water. And get a fish! Why wouldn’t he leap at this opportunity? Now… how to catch a fish? He searched his mind in vain until C’ym felt some pity on him and prodded him with a memory of fishing.
I… think we need a stick? the striped Bronze hazarded in confusion. But that didn’t make sense. He couldn’t hold a stick like that! In the end, he decided to go with his usual Lunge and Bite method of hunting. Now to go find some fiiiish! Bravely paddling where many a dragon had paddled before, Hanumanth set off in search of something silvery and lean. A few times, he even saw something and went back into his ‘Duh-Nuh’ pose.
Unfortunately, the fish merely laughed at him and darted away.

"Oh really?" Annelie questioned, tilting her head for only a second. "I... I honestly can't remember if I had heard that or not. I want to say I have, b-but I'm not sure. Either way, a visit to her is probably over-due. ...On both our parts, I guess."
She hadn't seen La since that horrible hatching, and the sudden realization of that made her feel sad an a bit upset at herself. La was one of the few friends she had, and here she hadn't seen nor talked to her in some time. That wasn't right, even for a shy person like herself.
Upon feeling a change in Hers, Yansanth actually became sidetracked and looked at the shore, her eyes swirling as she canted her head. But C'ym's words snapped Annelie back into focus, and caused the upsetting feeling to vanish from both the gold and the woman.
"I wouldn't know..." Annelie commented quietly, talking about how difficult catching a fish is. "But I think that's cute that he wants to catch one for her. Hopefully she won't think it's cute..."
Oh yes, yes Hanumanth, you will catch a fish! It will be a great fish, I have faith in you. Yansanth nodded her head almost vigorously. ...And then slowed a few moments later.
A stick? Why do we need a stick? How could a stick work, Ha -- hanumanth? Yansanth looked around, but Hanumanth had already gone into his seamonster state again, so Yansanth just paddled about and waited for a moment or two before shoving her own head underwater as well. Just for the fun of it.

“Yeah.” C’ym’s mind was traveling along, if not the same highway as Annelie’s, then at least a parallel one. It was strange to think that he considered La a friend but still hadn’t seen her in months. Guilt, guilt, guilt… “Hanumanth has been keeping up with Isonth, though,” he said helpfully. “He says she’s happy helping out with the dragons. Apparently, La’s mentor went away recently and came back… uhh… even more recently. Sorry, Hanumanth isn’t much of one for details.”
“To be honest, I don’t think there’s much of a risk of him actually catching one. No, Han, you’re a great hunter. Yes, I know. But these are fish, not herdbeasts. No, you can’t get Yansanth a herdbeast…” sigh. Dealing with Hanumanth was adorable most of the time, but he tended to act like an extremely excited dog all the time. Luckily, C’ym liked dogs.
Once again, the Bronze dragon emerged, bearing a proud crown of seaweed. He shook his head, making it slap wetly against his hide. I think… I think fish are supposed to bite the ends of sticks or something. And then you pull them out? Hanumanth said after a moment of thought. THERE’S ONE! he crowed suddenly and dove under the water again, snapping enthusiastically at the fish.
Unfortunately, he failed to remember that opening his mouth under water meant that water went into his mouth. The fish got away----probably to go get high-fins off of his friends---while Hanumanth swam back to the surface for a big breath of air.
“Han…” C’ym sighed quietly. “Be careful, ok?”
