Pressing A, B, or any button of any kind or combination of any sort, doesn't effect if a pokemon hit's itself in confusion, or effect how many time a pokeball "bumbs", to help you catch a pokemon.

Although I still do it out of habit. XD

Yeah I still do it too.The reason I do it is because it worked when I caught Entei with just an ordinary pokeball in Colloseum.

...no it didn't help... part of the algorithm that is used in the games code for catching a pokemon includes a random number generator in the formula. So that's why a pokemon's health, status, and everything else could be the same after any number of pokeball throws, and you may catch it on the first try and you my catch it on the one hundred and first try. It's just has to do with that random number generator, and the game doesn't recognize you're button presses during those times.

I know that already.I don't believe that it actually worked.I still do it because something like that actually happened. Thanks for the explanation anyway.

I think a pokemon that is holding the everstone has a 50% chance of passing on their nature to their offspring. At least that is what I always heard. So if that's true it won't pass along their nature all the time.
This pretty much sums it up, though to correct Nezu, you can actually pass down natures whether the non-ditto Pokemon is a male or a female.

Actually you can only pass natures down with the female, or ditto acting as the female.

-Points at this.-

S'what I meant. =P I've tried putting a Ditto with an Everstone to get a Miltank with a specific nature, and had to go through numerous Eggs before I finally got what I wanted, though it was totally by chance. The female took precedence over the Ditto.

No, Miltank is a Female only species, so you woudl have to have given the everstone to the Miltank. What ever is the female or is acting as the female (ditto) is what can pass on it's nature, of which there is a 50% chance. So if you had a male Torchic, and a ditto, if the ditto had a nature you wanted, you would give the everstone to the ditto, as it is playing the part of the female.

..I know this now, but not when I tried it. The Miltank, therefore the female, won out over being the female, so if it had had the nature I wanted to begin with, I would have given it the Everstone rather than give it to the Ditto.

I've been saying the same thing you have, just apparently no one understands the way I've been putting it.

Well, here's a myth and a fact put together:

Trying to teach a Gyrados(Flying/Water) and it can't learn it...I always thought that every flying type could learn Fly...guess not lol
This is true for alot of flying pokemon. All the bug/flying cant learn fly.
Mantyke,Gliscor,Drifloon,Mantine,Gligar,Hoppip,Skiploom,Jumpluff, and Gyarados cant learn fly. It's a weird thing to make them flying but it has some benefits.
Water/Flying
Benefits: grass being normal effective, ground not hitting at all, fighting X.50,BugX.50
Weakness: X4 lighting, X2Rock, Normal damage from ice.

I thought this would be fun to have. We say what people think and the reality of their thought.
Here is mine.
Spiritomb and Sableye have no weakness. This is true on the most part but if a pokemon used Foresight or Odor Sleuth you are able to hit them with fighting moves. There showing they have a weakness.

They still have no weakness. Yes, moves like Foresight expose them to fighting and Normal moves, but the fact still remains that no move will be super-effective against them (Which is my definition of "Weakness")

Because of their Dark subtype, fighting moves will hit super effectively when Odor Sleuth, Foresight, or a pokemon with Scrappy ability is used.
(At least that's how I believe it works. If anyone has verified whether this is correct or not, please enlighten us.)

I always end up pressing and holding the B button and up direction on the D-pad, rather than the A button. =P Makes me feel mostly effective, haha.

It's a MYTH that Onix and Haunter can only evolve by trading. If it were totally true, how is it possible there are wild Steelix and Gengar? D:

Also, in my case at least, it's a myth that a Ditto holding an Everstone will always pass on its nature. You have to breed it to a male Pokémon to even have that come into effect, and even then, it seems to me like the Ditto needs to get "warmed up" or something before I'll start getting babies with the right nature. >_>
you do have to trade gengar and steelix to evolve by trading... I think you can catch wild steelix tho... and I think you can catch wild gengar if you have a GBA pokemon game in the GBA slot in the one mansion in the forest... to get onix to evolve into steelix, it has to hold a a metal thingy( can't remember what it's called at the moment) and to get haunter to evolve into gengar, you just have to trade it.

This is true, being ghost provides immunity to Normal/Fighting not resistance. So fighting attacks do x2 damage with foresight, oder sleuth and scrappy because of Sableye and Spiritomb being 50% dark.

'It is described in mythology as the Pokémon that shaped the universe with its 1,000 arms.'

Ditto can (and trust me, it has) override as the female even when paired with a female when it comes to passing down natures.
