"There's fish in the water! Those things that swim around? Daddy told us they were fish. Then Kissy and I, she's my sister, tried to get some, but they slip past our claws so fast..." Kim'acha gave a giggle at the memory and then sighed, a happy smile upon her face once more. She was oblivious to the male teachings. She didn't know what they could and couldn't do. So, she'd treat him like he was her rank.

"C'mon. Let's go try to catch a fish!"

He tilted his head, but decided it was best to just go with her and see what happens. He was most curious about whatever she was calling fish. He'd never heard something like that. Other then the fact his mom told him he was named after a fish. "My.... mom says I'm named after a fish, Same with my sisters and even my mom. And her sisters" He told her as she followed him. He never asked his mother what a fish was, but now he'll get to see what he was named after... Or at least.... the gist idea of what he was named after.

Kim'acha listened to him with wide eyes and then giggled. Those things, she'd seen them too! She was excited she wasn't the only ones. "Momma brings them for us sometimes," she said slowly, thinking about what her momma called them. "I think she called them fish. And they're really good." The bright yellow female gave the male a smile and tilted her head. He was a good male already. It made her think about her place in the pride. Maybe he could better explain it to her.

She motioned him to follow her and she started walking, squinting hard o make sure she wouldn't run into anything. "...You seem like you know the pride well. Well.... about my position? What... what am I supposed to do, really? Momma doesn't know how to explain it, and I don't want to bother my aunts and grandma. They seem busy."

"My momma says my older sister is a back up for the higher rank." He told her. "She's just like you, but has white on her and is orange." He told her with a nod. "You'll train just the same as them, since your a higher rank then those who show more natural colors." He picked up small information here and there. He always kept them in his head swishing around in case he needed them for a later time.

"It's basic pride info." He told her simply watching her carefully. "You of all cubs should know this." He nodded. "Your important for the pride. More so then I am." He said. this was probably the most he had talked since she met him. "See, My mommy says males aren't to do anything really." He nodded. "We just sit around and help with taking care of cubs and other parts" Of course he didn't understand the full concept of males. His mother would giggle and say he wasn't old enough to know.

The way he talked didn't make her feel stupid or anything, but it did make her feel like she'd been slacking. Which she had. She really needed to go train with her grandmother and the others. With a mental sigh about that, she grinned a bit and giggled. "You make babies and help take care of them! That's what my grandpa told me. And sometimes they hunt, tidy up the pride."

They were at the watering hole now, and Kim'acha moved up to the water and sniffed it before starting to lap at the cool liquid. She apparently needed the drink more than she realized she did. She didn't stop drinking for a long moment, not caring if Kohaku was drinking with her or just watching her like she was a weirdo. Once she was full and her throat wet again, she sighed happily and 'looked' to him. More like to the blob of color he was. "So.. You know how to swim?"

He shook his head. "Males aren't good for hunting. My mommy says that they aren't. We weren't made for it. Or something." He couldn't image himself hunting when his mother and older sister do it so well. He forgot they were moving. Having spoke the whole time, he didn't realize his paws had been carrying him any where

"Swim.... Are you mad?" He asked her. "I'm not going in that." He didn't like water. How could he know if he could swim or not? It was only good for a quick drink then off he'd go. "Won't those.... Frogs come to the top." it was frogs right? Or f...... phsomething..... He raised a brow. He couldn't keep ALL information in. Especially as a cub.

Kim'acha giggled at him and shook her head. The fish wouldn't come to the surface, that was just weird! "No, silly! If we move, they move away from us. Momma said you have to be quick to catch one if you wanted to eat it," she said, motioning to the water. Without any warning, Kim'acha jumped in the water and completely submerged herself. Resurfacing, she walked back to the shallow end, up to her stomach, and grinned at him.

"Come in! It isn't bad. It feels good against the heat, too!" She said with a pleading look.

He gaped at her like she was some type of crazy. Crazy females were crazy, alright. But, she had asked him if he wanted to go, and saying no to a female was dishonoring yourself. He frowned, he wasn't happy about this AT ALL. He grumbled before he nodded his head. How did he get himself into this mess again? He wasn't sure. He flicked his tail back and forth. "After you." He told her. Maybe then he'd learn how to swim with watching her.

She waded out further into the water and grinned. Maybe he wouldn't be happy about it at first, but he would like it! She hoped. Whatever, even if he didn't, she got to swim and would be so sleepy tonight. She waded until she couldn't touch the bottom anymore and then started kicking all of her paws to keep her head above the water and turned around to watch him. "Come on! It's easy! Just kick your feet slowly and you'll stay above the water! I'll help you!"

Kohaku continued to frown as he moved towards the water. As he got there he touched it with one paw. Which his frown got bigger. How was he suppose to like this? Well, he got himself into this, so it was his own fault. He moved just like she did into the water. A slight fear fell over him as he got deeper into the wet mess. Why was he doing this again? He was going to die if he continued to listen to this crazy girl. "I'm.... I'm going to die." He said as he frantically started moving his paws... Which wasn't helping at all. He couldn't touch the ground anymore. Panic started to go over him now.

Kim was proud of him for actually coming in the water. She watched him carefully and then frowned when he looked panicked. Then he sounded it, and looked it. Moving over quickly, she actually pushed him to where his paws would touch again and whimpered, ears flat. She wasn't trying to scare him. That was how she was taught how to swim! Opening her mouth a few times, nothing came out, so she closed it again and looked to the side.

"I'm sorry," she whispered softly. She should have been closer, so he wouldn't have floundered so much. No doubt he would crawl out of the water and back to the safe shore, leaving her to her own devices. She would not blame him; how could she? Looking to the purple male, Kim sighed again. "I ....what... J..." she shut her mouth again and shrugged. She couldn't think of anything to say in a situation like this. What if he hated her for 'trying to kill him'. Honestly, she wasn't trying too!

"I.... wasn't trying to be mean or anything. I... was taught to swim this way. You... don't have to play with me if you don't want too. I understand."

He couldn't see, for his hair was flat over his eyes from being wet. All his fur finally realized that there was gravity in place, and was going towards the ground as the water pulled it down. He was not having a good day. Most of his body was out of the water from him backing up the moment he could touch the ground. Instead of a frown, he had a odd smile. For he could hear her upset noises. If he could show a little smile, maybe she'd feel better.

He shook his body and didn't hear what she had said but he didn't htink he cared too much. His fur stuck up in every way possible. His mane, or what would become a mane later on, was still stuck to his face, but at least he could see some what. "Maybe girls just can swim better then males?" He asked her as if nothing was wrong at all. No way he wanted to do that again. God no.

That odd, creepy little smile calmed her just a little bit. She still felt so bad for making him do that. "Sorry about that... I...." She didn't know he would freak out if his paws didn't touch. She hadn't done that. But her daddy had taught her to swim in shallow water, not the water she was swimming in.

Maybe that was it. She sighed softly and then sat down, letting herself drip instead of shaking herself. Kim, of course, knew that it wasn't true, but she'd agree with him. "Maybe! You could ask your daddy if he can teach you to swim!" She nodded at that and looked up at the sky. The day was long, but growing to a close. A nap was seriously in need after this.

"Even though my daddy would love to be here with me, he hasn't been able to make his way here" He told her. "My mommy tells me he cares very much about me and my sister and is trying his hardest to get here." He felt sad knowing that his father couldn't see him yet. Oh how he so wanted him to be there with him right now. To show the other that he could swim. Though maybe another time. He would learn to swim. Even if the water was nasty and only good for drinking.
