"If'n you wanna call 'em tha'," Faolan chuckled, then sighed. "I didnae mean to spring them on you." Then a thought occurred to him. "Where's Rhian and Zia?"

Ellandra smiled and kissed Faolan on the cheek. "Hush; I'm not upset. I rather like this surprise, really." Then she paused for a moment and shrugged a bit. "I don't know about Ziazan, but Rhian's off learning something or other from Lauss; I think he's teaching her some things. You know how she'll learn anything he's willing to share."

"I'd say it's sometimes th' other way about," Faolan said, grinning. "Zia's prolly wi' me da. They get on well, for some reason." He watched the children wander around the vardo a moment. "Elle, we're gonna need a bigger place one day, ain't we?"

Ellandra blinked a bit, but nodded. "Yes, most likely. . ." she paused for a moment and squeezed hsi hand. "We could. . . maybe find a mage who could give us the interior room without having to leave this vardo as well?" It was an uncertain suggestion; Ellandra wasn't very well versed in magic of, well, any kind, despite her own magical nature, and was only vaguely awar of any possibilities in that area.

"Tha's not a bad idea. I'm sure someone about Farstep knows how t' do tha' an'--Kelly, get outta the cookie jar." Faolan said, his attention taken by the small boy.

Ellandra nodded. "And if there's no-one in Farstep who can do it, well. . . I suppose Banning could find someone." Blinking at the boy at the cookie jar, she turned to Faolan with a frown on her face. "When did we get cookies?"

"You're askin' me like I know," Faolan answered, looking at her. "I guess Zia brought them home." He shuffled over, dragging Sara along, and scooped the boy up. "Come on, lad. Why donnae you let Elle tell you an' the girls a story an' I'll make dinner, eh?"

"Come on, Elle. You do it everyday fae a livin'. Just keep 'em entertained till I finish dinner, yeah?" Faolan pleaded, setting Kelly down in front of her before trying to pry Sara off his leg.
Annie looked up at Elle and giggled. "Tell us one about fairy princesses!"
"And dragons!" Kelly chimed in.

"Fairy princess and dragons, hmm?" Ellandra said, her eyes starting to sparkle. "What sort of fairy princesses, and what kind of dragons, hmm?" She really was in her element now, but she was going to get the children to participate as much as she could, as well - it sometimes was fun to let the children have more say in the diction of the story than they might have just passively listening.

Faolan wrangled with Sara a bit longer before finally getting her to let go and giving her a gentle push toward Ellandra. "Gae on, lass. She'll even put owls in it fae you, if'n you ask."
The little girl moved to clutch hold of Faolan's pants, but he gently deflected her hand. Sucking her thumb, Sara slowly and shyly wandered to Elle to listen to the story while Faolan got dinner ready.
"I like blue dragons," Kelly said, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Ones that can breath lightning and fly really fast."
"The princess should be in charge of a magic kingdom and have butterfly wings," Annie chimed in. "Big pink ones!"

"Right, blue, lightning-breathing, fast-flying dragons, and a fairy princess who rules a maic kingdom and has big pink butterfly wings," Ellandra echoed, settling the ideas into her mind. Smiling at shy little Sara, she reached a hand out gently toward the small girl. "And is there anything you'd like to be in the story, little one?" Her tone was soft and patient, and her eyes sparkled with a gentle warmth.

"A barn owl," Sara muffled out around her thumb quietly. "One tha' talks."
Faolan just smiled, his attention on making dinner though he was listening to Ellandra and the children. Maybe it hadn't been a bad idea after all to bring them over. It was the happiest he'd seen his wife in a good while.

Ellandra nodded with a smile. "A talking barn owl, hm? This will make a ver good story then, between all of your ideas!" And thus, Ellandra started the story, about a fairy princess (with big pink butterfly wings), who was brought a message from a talking barn owl that the blue lightning dragons were planning on attacking her kingdom, and the princess, owl, and a young lightning dragon (wh wasn't blue yet, he was still white because he had just hatched a few weeks ago) set out to stop them, only to findout it wasn't an attack, it was. . . something else. But what?
Time for the children to fill in a gap or two, Ellandra decided, and paused at that point in the story, more pleased than she had been in such a very long time. "What do you think the dragons are planning, hmm?" A strange feeling presented itself to the brunette then, centered mostly around her head and weaving through her hair, accompanied by an increased floral scent in the room - but Ellandra couldn't figure out where it had come from, or what was causing this.

"Birthday party," Sara blurted out surprisingly before the other two children could answer.
