I never really tried vending before, I'm an exhcanger at heart. I normally sell any item that is less then 1.5m in the mp and anything higher in the exchange. If that helps you any.

i really don't like the exchange. it's a pain in the a** selling stuff because they get very stingy about prices you specifically set. in my opinion, if you don't like it go somewhere else.

I tried to use the exchange...but people think that they can just offer anything. Example: Tried to sell a Gaia Tann and the highest bid was 70k. 70k?!?!? Are you kidding me?!?! Needless to say, I gave up.

Exchange, for one simple reason no one has mentioned yet. You can't trade up or down for other items in the MP. As long as you be patient you can almost always get an offer valuing your items on the high side and their's lower. If you trade a few of your items at full MP value for one bigger item at a value lower than MP, you can then turn around and trade the big item at MP value for smaller items at less than MP.
As long as you wait for the right offer or look around hard enough you can make a good profit on every trade.

I go with both. :] I'll explain why.
The Exchange I love to buy from. I get some really good deals there. For example, I got a 3rd Gen. Compass of Seidh for 900k two weeks ago when it cost over 1mil in the MP. You can make so much profit from the Exchange that it's ridiculous. You just really have to watch carefully and calculate how much you'll make by offering x amount of gold on an item. The people are a pain to deal with in there at times but the few that you find that are nice are really worth the wait.
I like the MP for reselling. I buy low in the Exchange and resell a little bit lower than MP at the MP. It's easy to make a profit that way. You just have to work in the 2% deduction to see exactly how much you're making. <3 It's a little hard with higher-priced items, though, considering they have a larger deduction but ti still works out somehow.

i like the hustle and bustle of the exchange, and its really not hard at all to make a profit there.... its just a mix of luck and speed and knowing what to offer, basically. there are lots of people that are willing to sell for under mp price. and when you have a dumb person that wants mp price, you can just tell them to go to the mp. and then you'll see their item 10 minutes later there. xd
and im not really good at sniping deals in the mp, so i just buy in the exchange and resell in mp. .w.

Lupas Deva Every time I deal with the exchange it has been a big waste of precious time. The exchange is not my cup of tea, but if you have a lot of extra time on your hands, by all means you are welcome to try it. I know what you mean. I love your artwork it is so ccccooooollll.

I just vend on MP... but keep your eyes open on the forums for good deals... remember, this game is all about the turnover profit of items

I'm pretty sure the only time I'd be willing to deal with the Exchange is when I want to sell anything worth millions. Anything very rare that is worth a lot is going to have some trouble selling in the mp, so maybe in that case you'd want to talk with people personally about it.
And even still, if you do want to sell a very expensive item in the mp and avoid dealing with people... if you sell an item for 10000k, it would still only be a loss of 200k... maybe it's worth it for some.
I know I've never personally had much luck with the exchange.
