"Big and angry?" At least it was nothing in her house, but that did not sound good. And now that she'd gotten over her surprise she realized, "You're bigger now! And..." She stood up and poked one of his wings. There were definately more feathers than she remembered. "Your wings are bigger too?" Then she realized she was poking and prodding at him and jumped back, hands behind her. "I'm sorry!" She blushed again, ears flattening down in embarrassment.

"It was after Dusty," he explained briefly. It was easier than 'giant metal bull with a damned soul inside.' He still wasn't too clear on that whole thing himself. And anyway, the next thing he knew, he was getting poked at! The wing in question twitched.
"It's alright." As long as she didn't go poking him in the ribs, Mik didn't mind all that much. He wouldn't have when she was a kid, so he didn't really now. He spread them so that she could see better. "I have more, too."

At the mention of Dusty, the mothfish's eyes narrowed. Odd how with the right expression her false eyes could do the same as her real ones. She was just uncharitable enough to hope the big and angry thing stepped on Dustin too.
She leaned over to take a closer look at the new wings, her own fluttering slightly with curiousity. "How did you do that?" Seung couldn't help herself, she poked one of the lower wings gently. "They're very pretty, like the others."

Mikhail noticed the change in expression, and couldn't blame her. The deerkitten wasn't exactly his favorite person, either, but he certainly wasn't the worst. Maybe he'd grow up.
"They just...showed up when I grew?" He really didn't know how these things worked! The lower wing she poked twitched too, though he tried to stifle it. "Pretty?" The angel blinked, clearly surprised by the use of the word, and maybe a little dismayed.

"Like mine detached when I grew maybe." She shrugged and tried not to poke it again. "Ye, ipuda." She sat back down on her bench wondering what that look on Mik's face was for. Maybe it was one of those language things again. "They're a nice color."

With the inspection over, Mik folded his wings again. 'Ipuda.' He recognized the word from when she was little - she'd said the same thing about the marks on his face. Not that he usually remembered conversations that well, but it was solidly in his memory as the first time he'd met another Fa'e. He'd thought then that she was really, really weird-looking. He supposed she still was, but he was used to it by now.
"Umm, thanks." He didn't usually think all that much about how he looked...well, aside from being clean and neat and all that. "So...how've you been?"

"I've been alright. Omoni and I went to the beach. And Oma's having me help out with deliveries some." She shrugged. "Nothing big and angry after me, so that is good. I keep meaning to talk to Sei, but I don't know where to find him, besides the HQ." She swung her feet back and forth under the bench; she was short enough that her feet just barely touched the ground on these. "That's all, I guess. What about you? Besides the big and angry thing?"

"I don't know, either. I probably should've thought to ask." But, well, he'd been tired and hurt, so it was excusable. They'd just have to hope to run into the blonde Fa'e again sometime. "Not much, really. Stefan keeps bothering me about getting out more. Apparently broken ribs only bought me a few days of being left alone."

"You broke a rib!" Seung stopped swinging her feet and looked at Mik increduously. Her wings buzzed in agitation. "Seems like wherever you go you get hurt Mik." Granted, it was only twices that she knew of but still.

"I...broke a few, actually," he admitted with a bit of chagrin. "Helping people is bad for my health, I guess." Somehow, he'd come out of his own encounter with his past with little more than a sore head, and even then, it hadn't been anything from his past that had done it. "But I think I prefer being stabbed to being stepped on."

"I guess that would hurt less in the long run. You're feeling better now though, right?" At least she'd poked only his wings and not his side then. She figured moving them around couldn't be to comfortable if the ribs were still broken; after all, his wings were still connected.

Mik nodded. While he'd much prefer not to be hurt at all, broken bones were officially very low on his list after this. "A little." Better than when the bull had actually stepped on him, at any rate. "It'll be a month or so." Probably a little more. He was growing increasingly jealous of his guardian's accelerated healing; if it were him, he'd be fine a couple of weeks! It just wasn't fair.
Leaving the subject of his injury for now (as nice as it was to actually have sympathy), he asked with some hesitation, "I was wondering...do you know who you were, y'know, before you were Fa'e? If you don't mind me asking."
He always wondered about it with every Fa'e, but he was particularly curious about Seung, after all that business with 'her' version of Heaven.

The sudden change of subject took her by surprise. She felt her stomach drop to her flipper-feet and her mouth go dry. Before she grew up, those memories hadn't affected her so much. Now that she knew what they meant though...
"Ye, I know," she said. "I was a Sonyo. A-" she paused trying to remember the english phrase. "A heavenly maiden."

A heavenly maiden? What exactly that meant, he didn't know, but he wasn't sure if he should ask her more about it. Maybe he could look it up or something. It was a weird phrase, that was for sure, but...different Heavens and all, he guessed.
"I was an angel," he offered by way of explanation for his question, and in a way repay her for answering, "And the...alternate Heavens thing's had me kind of confused."

"An angel? Like some of my brothers and sisters?" That didn't seem quite right though, Mik didn't look anything like her siblings. The only thing they had in common were feathered wings and even those weren't remotely alike.
Seung sighed. "It's confusing for me too. Oma's tried to help me figure it out, but she doesn't make much sense."
