It was scary. It was too scary. Ramla didn't like it. She didn't want to go see the outside of the pride anymore. She didn't want to play with other people's rocks. She just wanted to go back home to the faces she knew, and the rocks she always played with. She just wanted to go back to familiarity and security. There was no safety here. There was only danger. And every part of her instincts told her to fight; then flee.
So she did.
When the sight of her frantic brother falling back to the ground entered her eyes, Ramla, who had been holding on as tight as she could to the male's leg despite being shaken, let go of the stranger, bowled into her brother as some sign for him to run with her, and then bolted like a gray flash. But juveniles are small. Their paws still the paws of a cub, and their muscles are still forming and growing. They can be fast, but one sees just how soon their strength leaves them after a moment. And it was already clear after a few moments of bursting speed that Ramla was becoming drained much more quickly than her brother. She was a lazy girl, everyone knew. She always moved slowly, only really working when she was told to, or when she chose to play leap-rock. She was under-fit, and very slow. And in those short moments, she knew that better than anyone. Her steps faltered, her body swiveled, and she fell.
Panting with heavy breaths, the lioness scrambled to her paws again, every part of her telling her to run. But when she tried, she found she could only scamper off in a slow sort of canter. The option to flee had vanished. Now, she would fight and make the Mizimu'Tungika proud.
But how?!

-Relief! He felt the skin release, felt his back legs spark with minute pain as he fell to the ground. And as soon as his sister bowled into him, he was pushing at her, voice rasping out barely above a whisper, over and over.- "Run, run, run!"
-He was opptimistic despite the logic behind it. He truely believed they might get away from the giant beast. The monster that wanted to 'save' them by killing them he guessed. If only they could get a little closer to the pride center! His eyes kept flipping back as he noticed his sister slowing, his heart dropping when he caught her fall.
He pivoted, skittering as fast as he could on the moisture dampened ground, a pathetic mewl of a roar breaking through his throat.- "Don't touch her!" -He had to get to her. Had to get to her before the monster got to her and dragged her away into the darkness.-

Easily keeping up with the youths Kondo kept his eyes upon the girl, the weaker link of the two. He was sure her brother would stay to watch, attempt to defend her with each breath within his lungs.
Insanity flickered behind his blank eyes.
Vengence was a dish best served cold.
The Mizimu'Tungika had to pay for taking Kato's life, for taking away his only happiness, his reason for carrying on with the chores of each day. He snarled once more, determination flashing through each of his muscels as they rippled with his movements, how foolish these youths where for running.
"Stop!" He roared towards them before he pounced forward -direactly at the female cub and grabbed her within his mighty paws before stumbling to the ground in a roll. Sharp claws dug in, just breaking the surface as several drops of blood rolled down his paws. The first blood of battle was always to be savioured. As his dull rolling movements slowed he looked at the cub. What a pretty face she had, something most of the sacrifices enjoyed possessing, temptresses of a confused pride.
((Leaving it pretty open so you can pounce, attack or whatever to Kondo.... God knows he deserves it right now!!))

That single, roaring word sent the hairs shooting up on Ramla's body, her heart beating so fast and hot that it felt as though it would burst at any given moment. Her brows were twisted in panic and anguish, teeth bared and tears touching her eyes. There was pain and death chasing her. She didn't want it! She wanted it to go away!
Then a great force slammed into her, seizing her and taking her completely off her feet. Her head spun nauseatingly as she rolled, eyes tight shut as she willed everything to just stop; shut off. She wanted to black out. If only she hadn't left the heart of the pride. If only she paid better attention to what the grown-ups told her. If only she had been a good girl...! She was bad, and now she was going to pay for it. No one could save her. No one would want to save her. They would let her be killed because she was bad. They would watch her die. Her brother would watch her die.
Pain stabbed into her back and Ramla cried out, claws flinching out and flailing, but unable to find a target. Hot blood rolled off her fur, and the feel sent pounding waves of sheer panic into the juvenile. She wheezed and was spun around, face-to-face with her attacker. She stared, jaws parted and eyes opened to their full extent. She was paralyzed with fear, all instincts to fight and escape vanishing. Those eyes...Those blank, blue eyes...They were bad eyes. He wasn't right. He was a bad stranger. He was going to hurt her really bad. She was scared; she was really, really scared!
...But no one...
No one would come to save her...No one would want to save her. Because she had been a bad girl. She wasn't special. She was weak and lazy. She was useless.
Not even her own mother wanted her...
They would all be happier if she was dead.

((I don't really know what particular injuries or what not you're after Eski luff. Sooo, if Palak is the one who should be yelling in the end, just lemme know when you're ready. :3 ))
-And all too quickly she'd been scooped up, the pleasant aire of the adult now completely a faint memory. Palak's eyes were wide, his mind trying to find something, anything he could do. Find help. That was the smartest thing, the only thing likely to work.
But he couldn't leave her... she'd been taken.. or even... even dead if he left her! Just as she'd come for him before, the brown cub braced the distance, but he was too fearful of hurting Ramla himself to go for the monster's chest. Crouching he bounded, tiny claws out as he attempted to dig into an ebony shoulder, hoping upon hope he might be able to scurry his way up to the male's back.-

Kondo watched in wicked delight as the monster within him roared to light he was pleased that she feared him, her little heart pounding like a drum in her chest. But he would play with her before he ended her useless life...
Just as that thought crossed his mind, and a smile crossed his features to reveal to sharpen elongated teeth he turned to look at his shoulder. A sharp stabbing pain as claws broke through flesh causing droplets of blood to tumble to his 'attacker' -how predictable. "Release me!" He roared as he forced himself to his side to swipe the cub with his large paw, but as he did the female rolled from his chest towards the ground. Anger filled him as he changed direction at the last moment for her instead.
Claws making contact with her face.
Long jaggered tears as flesh clung to his claws.
Blood dripping from his paw just like after feeding.
Blood rage.
He raised his head slightly and let out a mighty roar to the moon and the stars, it was filled with angish and pain as well as victory. He wanted Kato back -he wanted to avenge her senseless death no matter what, yet a part of him ripped apart at the very idea of hurting such small cubs, fragile and helpless.
But the rage had started, and once it began it was not easy to change course from.
Eyes lowered once more he caught sight of his targets.
One.... two.... three...... heart pounding within his chest...... he leaped towards them with a mighty roar. His prey closing in.

A ripping, searing, hot pain unlike anything Ramla had ever experienced coursed through her face. A guttural scream let loose from her maw, but was silenced as even more slashing was done to her face. She could feel long, sharp, thick...Things moving inside her flesh, cutting and ripping at her like she was made of water. Blood ran into her mouth and clogged her throat, her limbs curled tightly in some feeble attempt to protect her body. But it wasn't her body that was in danger. It was her face.
He was destroying it.
Panic. Fear. Pain. Anger. Frustration. Helplessness. Hopelessness.
Denial.
Body shuddering in sickening pain, Ramla's eyes sprang open, pupils thin as paper. She couldn't die there. She wanted to scream at the cruel lion, but her throat was clogged with disgusting red liquid. She wanted to tell him she hated him; that someone would come to kill him. That she wanted to kill him. That she wished he had a bad, bad life with no happy rocks to play with. She wished bad, terrible things upon the male. Then a spine-chilling roar met her ears, and all those thoughts shattered as fear raced through her again. She saw the cruel lion rushing towards her. She screwed her eyes shut, teeth clenched, mind falling into unconsciousness from the pain. No one was coming to save her. She wasn't important enough to be saved. She was just a stupid, lazy, useless little girl that no one liked.
After those dark thoughts twisted into Ramla's mind, she blacked out.

-He hissed as claws raked at his haunches, trying to recoil from the sting while still trying to keep his own tiny claws from losing their grip. Slowly however both he and his claws were beginning to slide, and he closed his eyes tightly.
His eyes flew open once more as a blood curdling feminine cry sounded. Blood... everywhere. Like some small animal brought home for a meal that familar face lay torn and desicrated, the sounds she made making it feel as if his heart had stopped.
His small body shook with fear and adreniline. He wanted to hurt the black monster so badly.. but more then that.. he just wanted Ramla to be okay. Wasn't that what he'd been trying to do his whole life? How could he have failed so badly? He had to shut his eyes from the sight of her face.
It was dumb what he did next... not fighting, instead falling to put himself between the monster and Ramla, shoving his body so hard against her passed out one that the monster would have to pry him off to get at her again.
The warm feeling of blood made him feel sick, tears falling from his eyes as he curled around her, his voice lifting in a pitiful scream.- "Hellllp!"
"Please, please help!"
-When the night loomed and the strange fog began to creep over the savannah the minders had began to collect the children and the sacrifices, taking careful number of each figure. It was something they'd never worried so much about... not until the whispers had begun.. and lions had began to go missing. When it was found out that two young sacrifices were unaccounted for a minder had set out in search of them, a friendly warrior following along to help her find the troublesome children.
They'd been following noises for awhile now... hearing the roars of what sounded like a fray in the distance. It was probably rebels and warriors, he had warned the minder, trying to keep her from going straight towards the sound. Never did they think that someone would actually be trying to HURT their children.
The high pitched and pained scream had changed their path, bringing the pair to a run. So... by sheer luck alone... when Palak's cry for help did sound, they were close enough to hear it. Dual roars tore through the night, claws digging through the dirt as the pair searched for the source of the noise. They were close now, they could see movement in the distance.-

Kondo eyed his prey, ripping his claws effortlessly over the female cub. The jewels of red blood covered him, and those around his shoulder continued to trickle even after the male had let go. A relief flooded his shoulder as he moved it gentle to check there was no serious damage.
He was fine.
Then the most curious thing happened, just like a protective Kondo several years before trying to save Kato from being taken for her childhood duties the male cub was over the female -a barrier. How Nobel. How foolish. How pathetic. It had not worked for him all those years before why would it work now? He raised his heavy paw again; blood starting to clog and stick in lumps making the fur mattered and tangled; as he brought the paw back down towards the youth.
Anger and rage filled him.
There was nothing he could do to stop the ugle beast of battle from roaring within him.
Until something made him..... wake up. As if from a dream he drifted from the scene and saw things in focus once again. The two roars that had awoken him also reminded him of the pain in his own voice the day of Kato had died. His eyes resting on the youths he looked at what he had done, ripped flesh, claw marks, blood. Lots of blood.
What have you done Kondo?
It was the voice of Kato ringing like crystal within his ears, what had he done? His paws covered in blood -but not of a warrior on a battle field- instead a helpless child. Something so innocent and helpless. Something that needed protecting from creatures like himself. Yet here he was disgracing what little honor he had left. Ashamed of himself he tried to move away from the pair but no movement came. Like glue he stuck to the ground as a chilling breeze blew over him, the smell of fear and blood filled his nose until he could taste and think of nothing else.
This would send a message to the Mizimu'Tungika alright -but what exactly did it say??

-Something in him heard and understood the roar that sounded after his plea.. understood that the voices coming from the other side were for him. Mimizu. But he did not let go, body still quivering as he laid in wait of punishment. Luckily for him.. the 'monster' seemed to have stopped.-
-The scent of blood filled the air, and the familar brown pelt of one of the charges they looked for came into sight... along with another vaguely familar dark pelt. The warrior rushed forward, roaring in frusteration and anger as his body slammed into the other male's claws coming down like a like a hawk on the hunt on the chest of Kondo. He couldn't remember who this was.. only the faintest memories of familarity touched his mind, but if this trash would hurt children.. then it mattered not if he'd once been Mimizu.
The minder was quick to the situation, pausing above Palak to try and gauge the scene. Cuts and wounds marred the pelt of the little brown sacrifice, a sight that made her blood boil, her eyes narrow up at the culprit. But beneath she could see more blood.. was that a flash of grey? It made sense... Palak was always on the tail of Ramla. Her paws tried to prey one child from another, harsh but familar tone trying to convince him to let go.-

Kondo stumbled back with the impact of the clawed paw slamming into his chest. He deserved this. He deserved everything he got. How could have hurt cubs? Even in anger it was something that just didn't suit him, didn't reflect the gentle kindness that was usually Kondo, but he hadn't been the Kondo he remembered in such a long time now. Not since Kato had left, all he could think of was vengence for what they had done... but what would be their vengence for what he had done?
And so he stood there and took to blow to his chest, as it forced him backwards and brought a tear to his eye. His eyes met with a warrior he had once fought with tears and sadness dwelled up.
There was no turning back now.
He had been abandoned by the Mizimu'Tungika after Kato's death, he had been left broken and destroyed. Unable to heal. Unable to find peace. The Dhati simply offered him a means to an end, a way to seek vengence on those who had wronged him. But now he wondered if that was what he really wanted.
Shame. Pain. Disguisted at himself he turned and ran off towards the Dhati once more blood trickling as he took the longer route to avoid being followed -yet after the state the cubs had been left in he knew they wuld tend to them first before following. He was sure that one day he would pay the price for mauling the innocent. For spilling innocent blood.

"Thank you..." -He sighed exhausted when he finally figured out what was happening, letting his body be lifted and inspected. He was so grateful.. but so tired... his body ached... his heart even worse. They could go home now. Had he saved Ramla? He hoped so... Palak didn't know if his heart would take it if he had not.-
-The warrior tried to follow suit, but was stalled by the minder. Both cubs were in no condition to walk... And who knew if there were others waiting in the winds to ambush. The warrior's claws dug through the earth, gritting his teeth and wishing that it were the other male's pelt instead. But in the end he turned, lifting the boy child with as delicately as he could manage. The boy would live.. he was sure of that, but the girl... His eyes shyed away as he watched the minder lift her.
The pace was a quick one, as quickly as they could jog without jostling the children too much, a trail of blood following them as they went. Who should they go to? The queen? The children's 'mother'? As long as they got them into the safety of the pride... that was enough for now.
The queen would learn of this though.. and the other warriors too. Everyone would be made aware of the monsters they fought against. There would be no mercy for the rebels.-
