Lewis took a moment to take a quick scan of his clothes. Beyond things being slightly mussed up there was nothing amiss. Thank goodness it seemed that neither of them had any food in their hands before the collision. "I think so." As he replied Lewis straightened his jacket that had shifted a bit too much for his liking from the flailing.
This person he had just run into seemed like a similar age to his own and it looked like there was a high chance that he was another soldier. Not only that, the person seemed humble and not haughty at all. Those were good signs that perhaps this fellow was at least not some high ranking jerk. This may have been more good luck than bad.
"I don't think we have met before." Lewis let a big smile slide onto his face and offered his hand in a friendly manner expecting a handshake. "I'm Lewis Freeman."

During the short silence, Chase had been dusting himself off more or less, then nodded as he heard the other guy was alright. That was good to hear in the least. Though, when he saw the other man smile then introduce himself, the feeling of awkwardness faded.
"I'm Chase Warner. A pleasure to meet you," he greeted as he shook Lewis's hand.
Judging by how things have gone so far, it seemed that this other soldier was fairly laid back. Or at least enough to not really mind being bumped around a little. He also seemed fairly friendly, which was a good sign as well.

Thera sighed she was having a hard time moving through the crowd towards the slightly less crowded back porch. Where she would hopefully be able to hear her own thoughts. She quietly made her way in direction of the band because she could see the door to the outside. She brushed past a couple of talking cadets. Then someone blocked her way. She paused and waited politely for the person to move. Thera sighed again and looked for a route around but there was none available so she was stuck next to the cadets. 'Ah well might as well try to interact,'she thought.
She turned to the cadets who appeared to have bumped into each other. "Hi," she said to them realizing the greeting was rather laconic.

He nodded. "It's nice to meet you." This was an honest fact. It was indeed nice to have a chance to meet other people that there was some chance he would need to work with in the future.
Before Lewis had a chance to say anything else he heard a brief salutation nearby in their direction. Lewis turned to see who this other person was. He gave a small wave as he also offered greetings. "Hey there." At this point he was not clear if he recognized her or not. "So... are both of you surviving the party alright?"

Angelina lowered her raised right arm "Thank you Sir," she paused before asking "are you enjoying the party?" After all she'd only just arrived.

With a nod to his new acquaintance, Chase soon turned his attention to a young lady as she approached them. Smiling, he lifted a hand to wave to her in greeting, then glanced over at Lewis.
"Yeah more or less. Just arrived here though so I guess we'll have to see," he said with a light laugh, "And how about yourself?"

Thera smiled she had obviously missed introductions. Thera groaned when he asked how they were surviving the party "Barely. I don't like large gatherings. I'd rather be working on my zoid," Thera sighed. She wondered if they had zoids of their own. She thought about it for a second then decided to throw in her name. "I'm Thera," she said.

(( no worries. :3 ))
Nicodemous nodded. "It is good to see such hard working persons getting a time off from their labors." Most of the people in this room work quite hard, so there was no lie there. Though he withdrew the information that he would rather be doing paper work at this time than be in a large crowded room. "And yourself Cadet Solaris, enjoying the festivities?" That was the formal followup question. It would have been inappropriate or care-less not to ask it.

"I'm doing well I guess. This place is huge so there is plenty to gawk at..." Wait, was that an introduction? He regretted missing something so basic but didn't let it get to him. "Where are my manners? I'm Lewis Freeman and this" He gestures towards the other cadet, "Is Chase Warner. It is nice to meet you Thera."

"Haha yeah this place is pretty big. Fancy too.." remarked Chase as he took a moment to look around the ballroom once more. Then, a few introductions caught his attention, causing him to turn back towards the young lady with a smile.
"Ah yes, good to meet you Thera. And you have a Zoid? What kind, if you don't mind answering?"

"Whoa, this is huge..." That exact thought was the first tangible line of something even resembling individuality just moments after Shora Stromsten was practically shoved into the massive Ball room. The deluge of guests coming into the mansion had reached the point where the ushers were having to work at twice their normal pace as military personnel and civilians alike flooded into the Zoidpark and room and beyond.
Her ears managed to pick up a few notes of music floating about, practically lost in the noise of all the people who just arrived themselves, chatting about the entrance and yet to decide where in the room they were to move too. Shora herself was in this boat, panning her eyes over the room and figuring out what to do next, with the ride here still taking up most of her brain function. Not to mention she was never quite fond of leaving The Fluke unattended, no matter how secure a place it may be: she had attained it in such an unexpected and unsavoury manner that she always fretted that it could disappear just as easily. "Well, I've got to admit, the horses were a nice if not old-fashioned touch..."
She let the words linger about her for a moment, taking a number of steps forward for the dual purposes of getting further away from the other gawkers and getting a better view of the room. In all honesty she was not entirely sure why she had come here, maybe to try and get to know some of her fellow cadets better, or to discuss the idea of getting a mechanic to install an upgrade onto her Snipe Master with one of the scientists she had worked with before taking the dirty plunge into the life of a 'front line' soldier.
"So, now what?" she made a face, giving the look of a feral harpy for a moment, and continued to wonder through and scan the crowd, making her way around the room somewhat pointlessly. Clumps were forming here and there as friends picked each other out of the crowd or noticed an officer they wanted to talk to, but mostly these consisted of people she didn't know or barely recognised and seemed to be established beyond the point of having a random stranger join in, well, randomly.
And it also didn't help that there were two types of scientists in the world: Introverts who stared at their feet while talking to you, and extroverts who stared at your feet while talking to you. She left out the almost crazy, in-your-face social types for the point of merely making herself feel better.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Lewis and Chase," Thera said doing a small curtsy. It felt weird for her to be talking to other cadet's and not in uniform. She usually spent her free time working on her Zoid or helping mom rebuild Zoids. "Yes I do have a Zoid. It's a Shield Liger That's about the same shade of blue as my dress. Do either of you have a Zoid?" She asked. Thera loved her Liger to death and hoped she would never have to replace spirit. It would take her a while to get over it if she did.

"Truthfully I just arrived Sir, I have yet to join in any festivities though I'm looking forward to them." she smiled that and meeting other people, after all she enjoyed talking after all.

"I hope you will enjoy yourself." Nicodemus looked across the room at a few of the other cadets caring on a conversation. That was the most part of these parties. To socialize... Though a lot of the cadets looked as if they would rather be somewhere else. "hopefully...." He sighed than looked back at Angelina with a smile. "Now if you will excuse me.... Thank you for you attendance." He gave her another slight bow before heading back into the dreaded crowd in an attempt to get back to that paper work.

Kard slipped into the formal in his usual navy blue tux and black tie. He was forced to leave the goggles at home this time, but he wasn't too worried about that. His bright red hair was tied back as usual in that thin long pony tail, with the top part of his hair fluffed out. It wasn't a bad look for him, he was one of the few that could pull a mullet of well. Kard loved to go to the formal, however he disliked the massive amounts of people there were... It left his mind confused sometimes weather or not he liked to actually be here. It was fairly different from the imperial formals he went to... They usually always wore odd cloths.
He looked around the room. Now where did Cross go this time? The young Charlemagne or "Cross" was always at his side. But this time he managed to sneak into the formal before Cross did, and now had no idea where his little friend had gone.
