Aphismet chuckled, seeing clearly that Lucia and Rivener would most likely be involved with one another most. Getting to his feet now that the sunscreen was applied, the chef headed towards the food table. Maybe there they would have drinks much cooler than the quickly-warming water bottles Aphismet had packed.
"Ah, Ebony!" the man called as he spotted her nearby. He grinned and spoke louder to be heard over the music and distance between them. "Great idea! And a perfect day for it, too!"
Rivener chuckled at Lucia's actions, the girl taking her compliment easily. Riv's fingers twirled around a lock of black hair as Lucia sat, listening to her with a flirty smirk. "Oh, I know Vyn too. You two are similarly styled, now that I think about it. And clothes, hmm? Do you do only girls' clothes?" Riv was still quite conscious of the talking-to he'd gotten about spending so much money on clothing, but if Lucia could modify things he already owned, then it would be like he got a whole NEW wardrobe! "If you can, I'd like you to make some clothes for ME sometime."
Being told that he'd grown up all SEXY drew a very pleased, very bedroomy grin from the Sigel. "I've been around, this and that, you know. Looking for a job, actually; I've applied a bunch of places. Places where being strong and sexy will come in handy, I hope." He snickered, tossing his own hair slightly. "One of the places actually is a punk store. Maybe you go there? It's in Durem..."

Kuna lay still in her chair with her eyes closed, soaking in the rays. All the while though she couldn't help but listen to the conversation of the curious strangers nearby. There certainly seemed to be a lot of the half-bodies around, so she inferred that the food and music had been set up as a sort of gathering for them. Hm, what fun, the woman thought to herself with the slightest of smiles. The conversation recaptured her attention when the one called "Rivener" mentioned applying for a job in Durem. She peeked open one amber eye to look over at the two as they spoke. Hm, I'll have to keep an eye out for more of these beings in the future. Perhaps they don't all live here in Gambino.

Her ears twitched at the sound of her name being called out and Ebony turned to Aphismet shouting to her. She wasn't quite sure what it was he'd said since she was too close to the DJ station to hear, but she figured it couldn't have been anything bad as the chef was smiling.
She waved and made her way towards him figuring a few more minutes without more lotion wouldn't kill her. "Ello Aphismet. I'm glad to see you and Rivener here." Steel orbs sneaking a peek at the Scorpion who was busy speaking with the cat Raevan Ebony had meet during Christmas. She made a note to say hi to her later since they hadn't talked since that time. "I hope you two are having fun. Though Rivener seems pretty happy, so I guess that makes my question a bit of a moot point." She chuckled.

A fat girl in a bikini was the cure for what ails, at least in the opinion of said portly woman who strolled towards the pool with only khakis donning her hips, and as Rong Wei drew in the crowd that spread before her at this little shindig she couldn't help but feel...awesome. When she had originally heard of the pool party being held she had no reason to want to come, she wouldn't know anyone there and she hated going swimming, but the allure of putting on a string bikini and watching people while she drank herself stupid seemed to good to pass over.
She'd chosen a rather flattering swimsuit as well, the top fitting her and accenting her curves rather then highlight them; the red color she chose stood out nicely on her pale skin that dared not often see the light of the sun. It had a mute print, small white stars that seemed pink against the red. Rong Wei had gone through the trouble of doing both her fingers and toes before coming out as well, their attractive designs matching her ensemble perfectly.
Finally reaching the crowed, the Chinese woman was surprised to see that she actually did recognize someone amongst the crowd - a woman she'd met only once and at a casino she was now banned for life from. It drew a thin smile to her lips, a mere smirk really, as she thought of how she had learned to count cards thanks to this woman. Perhaps it would be in her best interest to go and say hello? With that in mind she slowly strolled over towards the woman ( and now man ), a conversation ready to be started.

Josh raised an eyebrow as he noticed the blond member of the duo make her way over to him. Apparently Lucia’s attention had been grabbed by Rivener. He could already hear the scorpion’s sultry compliments and the kitten’s sweet cooing. His attention soon shifted back towards the golden haired vixen.
The boy watched Yuurei’s busty body sway his way. A thin layer of darkly tinted plastic separated his prying eyes from being discovered. He should have felt ashamed ogling a fellow raevan owner. But goodness… he was a teenage boy and she had a way of filling out a bikini top. The finely oiled bosom was a lovely addition.
Josh piped up when she had gotten close enough. “Pleasure seeing you again, Yuurei,” his voice slurred out in a calm, smooth demeanor, “It is running thanks to your mechanic. It is still a piece of junk though.” He laughed airily. It seemed like his car had broken down so long ago. Had it really been that long since he had last seen Yuurei?
It must have been. Yuurei still had not met LuLu! “I agree, it has been ages! And actually… Yes, I do.” Josh pointed towards the place where he had left her. He was about to puff up with pride until he followed his finger to an empty patch of cement.
So much for watching her.
He moved his finger around like a marker as he scanned the poolside for a pair of blond ears. “Ah! There she is. The one in the sun hat.” This time his finger pointed across the pool at a tanned, pigtailed raevan. Josh also took notice of Varun.
He was not worried about her interacting. He was actually relieved that she was playing nice at the pool. The boy just hoped that LuLu did not get too frighten by the other raevan this time. Their previous meeting had been fairly tense. Josh peered up at Yuu again but made sure to check in on LuLu every so often. He figured he could start being an observant guardian now.
“Want to join me? The water is pretty refreshing.” Josh splashed his legs gently in the water to stir a few waves as if would demonstrate just how nice the water was.

"Kiiiiinsey, stoppit," Varun whined, trying for the tenth time to push his guardian's slimy hands off. The lotion was cold and now he smelled funny. And he was still hot! This wasn't helping at all. It was just making things much stickier. Huffing again, the redhead quivered his wings and fixes Kinsey with a sharp look, headfins flaring out to the side a little as he tried to win his point.
The officer simply chuckled and patted the Raevan's shoulder. "All done. It's better this way. Why don't you pull off your arm thingies, eh? And you can take your vest off, too. Maybe you'll be cooler." Kinsey was fairly certain the chest guard was attached to his ribbon or something, that couldn't come off, but his other items of clothing were free. Fortunately, Varun decided to be reasonable and worked himself out his few items of clothing. Ah, what a strange feeling, the sun was very hot on his shoulders. A snap caught his attention; where did Kinsey think she was putting that? No more of that disgusting lotion!
A small voice caught his attention then. Headfins out to the side, he glanced over his shoulder and spotted LuLu. Just in the nick of time! Turning to face the shy rabbit, he nodded. "LuLu. Good day." His gaze flicked to Kinsey and she nodded; the Frei felt a little swell of pride having used the term correctly. "Hot? Yes. Here for pool?" He pointed and nodded towards LuLu. He still had no idea what a pool was, but he couldn't possibly be the only one here for it, whatever it was.
Kinsey smiled to herself as the leviathan began to interact immediately, pleased he wasn't nearly as rigid as he'd been just a few months ago. The sunscreen could wait, she decided, until Varun was done speaking with LuLu. In the meantime..
The young woman stuck her hands in her pockets and glanced around for someone she knew. Shoot! She'd been working so much recently, she hadn't really been out at all. She didn't really see a familiar face in the entire crowd...or...maybe, was that Josh? Ah, he looked busy though. She could say hi a bit later.

LuLu watched with interest as Varun combated Kinsey and her slimy hands. She would not admit it, but she had done almost exactly the same thing when Josh had assaulted her with sunscreen earlier that day. It was white and goopy. It was probably the most unappealing thing you could slather on yourself. She still was not completely sure why people had to bathe in the stuff when they went outside.
Varun snapped his head in her direction and the rabbit could not help but jump skittishly at first. Her anxiety soon melted away when the male raevan offered her a pleasant greeting. It was far nicer that the loud exclamations he had made when the first met.
LuLu frowned slightly. She did not agree with her companion, “Not a good day. Too crowded. Too hot.” She fanned herself gently to show her point. The rabbit frei was being social; however, that did not mean that her bitter disposition was any better than before. Being manhandled out of the sunroof of a truck had a way of dampening a girl’s mood. “Pool?” LuLu has almost forgotten about the party’s main attraction. Of course, she knew what a pool was. Josh had only spent two hours chittering away about it in the car.
LuLu twisted her sundress nervously in her small hands, “I do not like water. Can not swim.”

Ash noticed that two of the floating creatures where mingling. She examined them closely trying to take in this strange sight. She soon noticed that there was more to them then just being able to float. One had cat ears and bat-like wings. The other had horns, wings, pointed ears, and a nicely sculpted abdomen. Ash looked in aw at these creatures. She began to reach into her green and white stripped bag and pulled out I sketch book.
She started to draw the two, sketching their outlines and the scenery around them. When she had finish She held it above her head to block the sun. The picture was far from any Prized painting in a showroom. The sketch looked like it belonged in a kinder garden classroom. "Why do I even try?" she laughed to herself and gently hit the sketch book on her head.
A warm liquid started to run down her face, reaching her lip and dropping into her hand. She know what this was, and quickly covered her nose and moved as fast as she could, without running, to the refreshments to grab a napkin. She left her bag and sketch book open in her haste. I a NOT going to ruin another shirt! she yelled mentally as she maneuvered towards the table saying her apologies to the anyone she managed to bumped into.

"What that?"The equine frei demanded of his guardian as the two stepped out of their home. Golden eyes roved over the contraption with mixed excitement and concern. Apparently this was what would get them to the pool party but it looked like there was room for one... whatever it was.
Thanatos on the other hand was busy checking his bike, motor bike, as he looked up to the lead Raevan. "Ah this thing? Its my bike. A motorcycle; we'll be using this to drive us to the party. Isn't it cool?"
"Not cool. Where sit?" He wondered floating around the bike a few times before stopping to heft his bag more comfortably on his shoulders. "No like."
"Aww don't worry, ya jus.. um... well darn. I guess ya just sit on the back with me and hold on." Well that was the idea but Domo didn't have a bottom to sit with and Xan was still getting used to all the things the kid could do. Thinking for a moment he shrugged and head into the garage for a moment before pushing out a side car. "Well I'll attach this, its a side car so you can sit more comfortably. It's safe."
"Safe?" Domo repeated eying the side car with concern.
"Yes. Safe." Xan reassured hooking the side car to his bike. "You don't have to worry about falling off. And maybe later I'll teach to you ride on the bike with me. Okay?"
Domo thought a moment before a secret smile hidden by his mask crept along his features. The sparkle of his eyes the only indication of his approval. "Hokay. Ride later. Pool now! We go!"
"Alright. We go... get in." Turning to his charge he gave a large grin. "Hold on kid, I'm gonna floor it."
----------
Pulling up to the local activity center, Xan smiled down on his charge who was clutching his bag with a death grip. Even with his helmet on, Xan could see the crazy fear in Domevlo's eyes. "Aww, I'm sorry kiddo ya should have told me to slow down." Getting off the bike he removed Domo's helmet to be greeted by a glare. The unicorn frei said nothing clutching his bag to him as he slipped out of the side car. "Kill you." He whispered hurrying past and toward the pool area.
"Aww Domo don't be like that... I said I was sorry!" The whole time Xan couldn't help chuckling as he gave chase keeping a close eye on his charge. "Ya gonna be mad at me all day?"
"Not mad but not forgive... not yet. Go way!"
"Nothing doing. Lets just go inside and see who all is here. Maybe you can make some friends. How's that sound?"
"Friends good. Still not forgive you."
"Well shucks."
Once in the pool area Xan took a good look around. Seemed a few folks had straggled in already. They had food far off from the pool, a DJ was on location it appeared; something you don't see everyday. This looked like a cozy place. Thankful for the bag Domo had brought he took it pulling out some sun screen. "You'll need some of this, not sure the sun would hurt ya but better to be on the safe side." Sniffing at the bottle Domo turned up his nose moving to find one of the reclining chairs. Apparently still in a fit about the speed demon who had brought him here. "Well ya don't have to talk to me if ya don't want but you're gonna put some of this on."
"No need. Got hat!" A big straw hat which he pulled from the bag and put on his head with a goofy grin one could only guess was plastered on his face. "Found in gar-thing."
"Garage."
"Yes that! Hat big, block sun. Good yes?"
"I suppose just stay away from the poo-"
Well that went through one ear and out the other -- Domo was already moving away from his guardian and toward the pool. If he had toes he'd have tested the water but instead used his hand. "Cool." He breathed splashing at the water a bit, currently in his own world and oblivious to the few in attendance around him. Water seemed to be a fun element for the frei who was growing more curious by the moment.

Aphismet grinned as Ebony came over, the chef lifting a cold can of coke from the ice-filled trunk. The Brit greeted him as kindly as he could have expected, smiles echoing each other on the two faces. At the mention of Rivener having fun, Aphi glanced over his shoulder with a chuckle, watching the Sigel twirl his fingers in the kitten's hair and look at her so sultrily. "Yeah, he's certainly having fun, although I'm curious to see what would happen if a certain other Frei showed up. Hell, even if he DOESN'T, I imagine Rivener's going to be suffering from some serious guilt trips later. If anything, it'll be entertaining, hah." Aphi snickered, feeling perhaps a little bit smug in retaliation of the slave-treatment he'd gotten when they got here.
"But as I was saying, this was a great idea, Ebs. It's so hot today we couldn't have asked for better timing for a pool party! I'm gonna go swim a bit later, once the sunscreen sets in. Have you been in, yet? Is the water good? ....Oh, uh, hello!"
Aphismet had turned to spot a chinese woman nearby, apparently either waiting for them to be done talking or trying to get past them to the drinks cooler. The chef smiled at her and offered his hand. "I'm Aphismet! Ah, would you like a drink?"

Varun hummed softly, nodding as he agreed with the hot statement. It was very hot. Much too hot. But what was this about not liking water? Both eyebrows shot up and the redhead face the rabbit a confused look. "Water? Not like?" He blinked. He liked water very much. At least, he had liked the fountain of the dancing water. "Swim? Whatfor?" He didn't even know what that was, except you did it in water.
Something splashing caught the young Frei's attention. Looking up, he spied something, or rather, someone, splashing in a very large tub. He glanced at LuLu and pointed at the ribboned stranger. Another Raevan? "LuLu. Who?" He pointed at Domo and nodded again, hoping she might know the stranger. Just asking wasn't enough, however.
Extending a hand as though to lead the shy Frei, Varun slowly started to drift towards the horned Raevan, wings flared halfway as he tried to read the curious stranger. He was playing in the water. Water? "LuLu. Pool, this?" He pointed to the stranger. "You! Name, yes? Varun. You? Name?"

Just how many of these things are there? Kuna wondered to herself as another pair, human and half-body, came into the area. It was soon apparent to her that the grey one was rather displeased about something, as he was almost completely dismissing and disregarding the silver-haired man with him. She had to chuckle to herself when the masked one moved toward the pool before his guardian figure could even finish telling him otherwise. "He seems like quite the handful," the woman remarked with a light smile to the stranger. Although she did wonder what the point was of brining someone to the pool was if they were not allowed near the water. Isn't that why most people came here?

"Well...let's just hope nothing too dramatic happens today. I certainly don't know all the dynamics of all the relationships among the Lab, but I wouldn't want to inadvertently start something." Watching him down some of the ice cold soda, Ebony hitched a thumb back at the DJ. "FYI, if you're looking for something with a bit more...bite, the DJ's got another cooler. He's been informed not to give any of it to the half bodies, though I think he thought me a bit loony when I said that."
A perfectly shaped brow arched at the woman Aphi now was addressing. The Brit hadn't seen her since their meeting at Gold Mountain so many months prior and she definitely hadn't been able to invite her here herself. She wondered...how did the Chinese woman find out about the party? Or had she simply stopped by and seen it? Oh well...it was a party after all. "Rong Wei, fancy seeing you here. It's been awhile. You're looking...well."

With a soft chuckle, Xan turned minty eyes upon the woman shrugging as if Domo's nonchalance of him were an everyday thing. In some ways it generally was. "He's not high maintenance if that's what'cha askin' but I prefer him this way. He's just... well he's Domevlo." He offered with a low smile. Giving the woman his full attention he tipped his Stetson in greeting. "Thanatos is the name but call me Xan. Nice to meet ya ma'am. Aside from the clean air, cool water and heat, what brings you here?" Though it was probably the party but to be honest Xan really had no awareness of it. If it weren't' for Domo's aggravation with the heat and demands to cool down they might not have come at all.
Speaking of said frei he had been momentarily distracted from his splashing to be greeted -- or was he being demanded? Either way he couldn't tell. Looking between Varun and Lulu, Domo wasn't sure what was expected. Ah the red haired one wanted his name. Why were red heads always so demanding and/or mean? This Domevlo had realized from his meeting with Vyn and then with the River guy, but at least he turned out nice despite the lie he'd told.
"Name... Dome'lo." He spoke still unable to pronounce the "v" in his name. Knowing this, Varun's name would come slightly different. "You 'Arun yes? Who that?" He questioned pointing to Lulu curiously.

“Yes, not like. I can not swim. I sink. Opposite of swim,” LuLu motioned with her hands. Sure enough, her right fist made a slow motion downwards until hit into her left hand a few inches below it. To add emphasis to her words she made a dramatic face at the end of her example to express the magnitude of drowning. The girl had watch TV and knew that drowning was not a pretty sight. She spoke dejectedly, “It is bad.” LuLu had only managed to venture into the four foot deep pool in her back yard. However, given that the girl only floated four feet tall, it was much too dangerous for her tastes.
She preferred to watch the pool from a safe distance.
LuLu watch as Varun was distracted by another raevan. An unfamiliar one. The leviathan made his way over to the splashing frei. The rabbit followed close behind. She was also weary when she approached a new person. Especially when they were flailing about the side of a pool. A pool with water. Deep water. Deep watery water… You got her point.
“I do not know who.” LuLu floated behind Varun. She was close enough to see over his shoulder yet far away enough to avoid his pointed fins. “He is a stranger,” She added, “The water is the pool.” LuLu nodded to herself satisfied with her statement.
Edit: LuLu stared at Domo for a few moment before she finally realized she was being questioned. So his name was Dome'lo. "I am LuLu."
