They weren't worth nearly as much back then as they are now. Since there were fewer Gaians, so the ratio of those items to gaians was smaller, therefore there wasn't nearly the demand for those items that there is now.

Actually, when I donated the wings they were worth... i dunno, 65k? That may be less gold, but it was still one of the most expensive items on Gaia.
It's called "being generous to someone you think deserves it and getting duped".

I was here in '03.... I could've sold my Angelic Headband for Devil tail, and the three Nov. '03's that I got...
nng... I really wish I had gotten the Devil tail.. and Mini's...
*twitch* oh well... I'll get them somehow..
ix~ I think thats one of the reasons why I dont donate very much [to gaians]
And yet I get all these peoples asking me to donate~ >x
I think another reason it that when I wanted the devil tail two years ago, no one helped me, and I always couldn't collect enough money, so I never bought one ^^;
I'll probably star doing more art stuffs once I get a tablet... I'll start an auction, and hopefully start raising money...
