I guess on technical grounds, I'm a Mormon, which is a branch of Christianity (and yes it is). I guess I'm not the most active member, but have come to realize that if anybody disses it, I stand up for the mother faith (ok, my mother faith. It's the church I pretty much grew up in).

I'm Roman Catholic, I've looked around at other belief systems but the only place where I really found peace, freedom and God is the Roman Catholic Church.

Wow. Belief-O-Matic gave me 100%! On Secular Humanism. Which I knew.

I consider myself an Atheist, but I am a Humanist first. I'm not an Atheist in that I know or believe 100% that there is no God, but I feel that it's pretty unlikely, and live my life as if He/She/It/They did not exist.

But, that's honestly not very important. Like I said, I'm a Humanist first. It's more important to live this life to the fullest, be a good person, help others succeed in life. Because I do not believe in an afterlife, this life is that much more important. We must do all we can to make the world a better place because this is all we get.

Imitation Stradivarius
Southern Baptist. Although I do live in Arizona.....It's a quite interesting thing to think abuot sometimes haha.

I really don't like religion, I hate "holier than thou" men that pat me on the head, I also hate women who don't stand up for themselves in a church setting.

All the rules in the church anger me to no end. Sometimes there are the most ridiculous rules that you hafta follow and I'm pretty sure if Jesus was here, He wouldn't yell at me for having green hair.

I'll sit and listen to others speak about religion, but when they start quoting the Bible in the wrong way, that's where I draw my line. I'll either make an excuse and walk away, or I'll correct him/her to tell them what it actually means.

Also, my youth group is full of grown ups that act like kids. MUWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA AHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to attend a southeren baptist church, but now I've switched over to an Indepent Christian church

Traditional Catholic, i do not like the new modern way people are going with Catholicism, i go to the traditional Latin mass, staffed by the priestly fraternity of Saint Peter, if you go to their churches, then any other mass just seems so...bland, so modern and casual, i can't stand going to the new mass or even my own Maronite mass,
the mass should never have been changed, Vatican 2 was not about changing doctrine, in fact, no doctrine at all was changed, it was a very misunderstood thing...well, anyways.
i'm catholic because it just makes the most sense to me, and no other religion can give me the means to worship and love God so perfectly, although i have other reasons why i believe, but mainly it is faith,
faith doesn't mean that i believe without reason though, that's not what God wants, He simply wants us to believe without seeing, so even though i have seen, i still mainly believe based on reason.

i have a guild if anyone is interested in learning alittle about the Catholic faith, there's not a heck of alot on the guild, but there's a good basic Catechism, alot of apologetics and teachings, the Vaticans website, and lots more, even if you're just curious, check it out - http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewforum.php?f=211177

I'm Buddhist, and it has helped me find greater peace and contentment with my life... I'd also just like to say, that the poll spells " Buddhist" wrong.

I am a Atheist and I'm pretty firm in my belief that there isn't a god, even though I was raised Roman Catholic. Though recently, I've been researching Buddhism. Though I don't consider myself a Buddhist, I do follow the Five Precepts.

I am Quaker. I've actually had some people who have no clue to this sect that I've been asked if Quakers believe in God and Jesus....lol I also have great appreciation for the Native American beliefs, indigenous peoples who's faith also connects with nature, and Zen Buddhism (I've had the pleasure of staying at a monastery for two weeks).

Jewpanesey

Jewpanesey
Reconstructionist Jew, a break-off sect of Reform Judaism. We follow the tenet of Tikkun Olam in a different way than the rest of Judaism. Instead of waiting for the messiah to come fix the world, we believe it is humanity's duty to fix the world, as we do not believe in god or the messiah. We are essentially cultural Jews that are, in belief, secular humanists. We are also anti-Zionist.

Oooh. That sounds really interesting. What sort of cultural influences do you keep or abstain from?

I keep a mezuzah on my door, I do not eat pork/shellfish, I celebrate Hanukkah, I follow the Reconstructionist tenant of Tikkun Olam, I celebrate Passover, and those are the main ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I find this interesting, because I heard Tikun Olam described the same way by a Conservative Rabbi- that people are expected to fix the world, not depend on someone else to do so. He seemed to think that was a standard among Jews. It is one of the main things I love about Judaism, actually.

there should be an option on the poll for "CONFUSED"...because, as a general rule, I am. Ask me a question about Jesus, for example, and I'lll ask if you want standard Christian answer, Mormon answer or the Jewish one. I have no idea where I'm going to land in the religion dept.

Why is there no "none" option? Why do you assume everyone has a religion?
