In my opinion I disagree with the idea of socializing the healthcare system. Think about it do you honestly want to go in with a deathly illness and be given a number and possible not be taken in for treatment. Yes it would be free but someone who needed attention immediately wouldn't get it just because their number wasn't called. There is a reason why we're not all running over to Canada to get out surgeries and doctor's appointments. As for the abortion issue that is a biggie. It's hard to believe that the Obama, who is a father of two daughters would support such a heinous violation. He's making friends with all countries but at the same time is helping kill innocent unborn babies. You'd think that the womb would be the safest place in the world. It's free of the hate, war, and evil in the world but look we've turned it into an execution ground.

Isn't the Catholic Church also against contraception? If they're going to be so against abortion, allow contraception. To be against abortion and contraception just isn't gonna end well.

I say yes. Everyone deserves healthcare and we should be ashamed for not providing it! Anything to fix our currently failing healthcare system is very much appreciated. Of course waiting in line is a major downside, but don't we wait in the emergency room anyway? And I still feel more could be done to combat the health insurance monopoly we have circulating. But as of now, I welcome this change!

But as of now, I welcome this change! I'm sorry but you should no when they say waiting in line they mean there's a possibility you might not even get treatment. With this health system they would tell anyone that has a condition and smokes to go and die because they smoke. If a smoker came in with a heart condition and could die from it the doctors would say oh this person smokes and is going to die anyways so we're not going to treat them. Senior citizens who live in nursing homes would be told go home and die because your too old. People that were in comas would have the plug pulled on them. So waiting in line in the new healthcare system isn't the same as waiting in the emergency room. The socializing of the healthcare system doesn't work. Free healthcare isn't the way to go. Even Europe is trying to keep us from doing that. I say again if we want this healthcare system so badly and it's so great why aren't we all flocking over to Canada for it. Oh I know because there's a possiblility that we won't even get treatment. The only way your getting treatment for sure is if your a dog or cat. Yes pets have better healthcare than humans in Canada.

Excuse me? Where the hell is your proof of this? Funny, I called my doctor today. Although she is booked up, she's getting me in to see a different doctor tomorrow. My government loves me and doesn't want me to go poor by having to worry about medical bills. Thank G-d for Canadian healthcare!

I'm so glad I haven't been really sick the past few years. I would be totally ******** time this debate comes up, I'm reminded of a pin I saw once; it said "Our National Health Plan? Don't Get Sick!" I believe healthcare, basic nutritional needs and basic lodging should be human rights.

I think that abortion should have its limitations. We should have a CHOOSE if we want Obama Care . They shouldn't group plans together if the government want to do health care they should personalize it. Why should a diabetic who smokes and drinks to pay the same amount as a healthy 22 year old?

Oddly Canada is going to privatiziation because it cannot afford its current system. You may have been lucky enough to go see your doctor but an old friend of mine died waiting to get in to surgery, as he was told it would be three months to get in for his stomach cancer... God Bless Canadian Surgical Waiting Periods!

God Bless Canadian Surgical Waiting Periods! I wouldn't follow the Canadian healthcare system although I've gotten a completely different story from Canadians. They currently rank higher then the US for national healthcare. I don't know if Universal healthcare is the way to go but if it is then we would be better off if healthcare was modeled off of the one in France.
