The pale lioness' body tensed as her mother spotted something, she crouched and mimicked Shani's movements the best she could and was extremely pleased to know they had indeed found antelope! What good luck, they were being taught about the prey they were going to be hunting.
She crouched low watching Enzi and Shani leave the group and popped her head up over the grasses to see who they should try and pick out.
"What if we went after the smaller one," Anya popped back down and stood beside Kafara, "in the back, sort of in the direction where Enz and mom went." She peered at the other two females as they walked in a different direction.
"I don't think that's a good idea, we should go for a fat juicy one," Demeter pretended to salivate and was quickly shushed by her sister. The dark furred lioness smirked at Kafara. She was having a hard time staying quiet, it was exactly like she thought it would be, hard to be silent.
"What do you think, Kafara?" She whispered lifting her head to view the herd and pulling her head back down.

Shani led Enzi away as the girls moved on in the other direction, the direction that they would chase the antelope to. Every once in a while she would glance back over her shoulder, keeping an eye on where they went, mostly by keeping an eye out for the the bright color of Anya's dorsal stripe and the overall more obvious color of Demeter.
"She's fitting in nicely," Shani commented to Enzi with a grin, but before he could be embarrassed or argue with her, she moved on, "Quick, this way!" She picked up the pace and led him around behind the group. They were ready to go. They just had to pick a good time to move.
Enzi glanced over his shoulder as well, but more watching for Kafara, half worried about what his sisters might say to her about him. But they had a job to do, they wouldn't be bothering with anything like that yet, right? His attention was drawn quickly back to his mother commented on Kafara- in a rather suggestive way, in fact. He opened his mouth to argue but he was silenced by the instruction. He followed after Shani and waited with her until the right moment. The girls had had time to decide, hopefully, and now one of the antelope was wandering quite close to them. It would be easier to scare if there was a genuine chance of it being caught-- and maybe they might even take something down together.
So, they were off.
"Umm," Kafara tensed when she was asked to make a decision on which antelope to aim for, glancing at the group before them, "A small one might be faster than a big one, but, uh- which one is closest to us?" She squinted, looking out over the group before ducking back down and offering her final opinion.
"If we want to surprise them, shouldn't we also pick something quite close to us?" she asked. Her ears perked as suddenly the group was moving- quickly- in their direction. They weren't too far away and so they had to decide. Now.

Surprisingly enough Anya was the one to make the decision out of the two sisters as the antelope started to rush toward their group. The herd spooked and started to run from the girls as Anya darted out. She ran toward a smaller antelope, probably a little more than a yearling.
"This one, this one!" Anya shouted. Her body tense, she wanted to make Shani proud, didn't want to hear the tenseness in her mother's voice while speaking about hunting. The thoughts flew through her mind and were gone and she was chasing, she wasn't fast by any means but she was heading toward the antelope of her choosing. Catching up she lunged toward the smaller antelope, it hurried it's speed and escaped.
Demeter was becoming impatient with Kafara not being able to choose and then it didn't matter. The herd was coming and Anya seemed to know what she was doing, shocked she shrugged in their new friend's direction. She started to chase after Anya tailing behind her pale sister.
"You know...you're pretty fast," Demeter huffed and puffed as she tried to keep pace.

Shani could see them now when Anya suddenly jumped out, followed closely by Demeter and Kafara. She lunged for a small one but they missed, Shani already could see it. Determined to help them succeed, she changed the direction she ran and circled around to chase the few antelope escaping to one side back towards the girls.
"Don't give up!" she called to them, and with a quick spring she lunged after an antelope herself. She wasn't aiming to catch it, she was aiming to scare it, to cause it to stumble.
Enzi ran with Shani but didn't follow after her when she went off in another direction. She didn't tell him anything special to do, so he had to think on his own. When she lunged at one antelope, he lunged from the other direction-- forcing it towards the girls and eventually into a stumble as it was forced to avoid so many directions at once.
Kafara was slow in realizing that Anya had jumped away but quickly followed after them. She slowed down a bit when the antelope got away but saw the change in Shani and Enzi's movements, she picked up the pace again, nudging Demeter as she got near to her again.
"Look!" she cried, nodding towards the antelope just as it stumbled their way.

"Oh, t-thanks!" Demeter answered as she looked in the direction Kafara pointed out, this was her chance, her chance to show Mom how great of a hunter she was -and- to show up Thea and the catch she had brought in as her first.
She darted toward the stumbling antelope tossing her weight at it. The dark lioness collided with the beast, its legs falling out from beneath it and she found herself on top of it.
Anya blinked, she had realized what was exactly happening just after Kafara had informed Demeter and in moments it was too late, the antelope was dead and Demeter was the cause. Generally, Anya wasn't the jealous type, but she had wished to be the first one to take down a kill for her mother.
"Ooh, wow!" Anya exclaimed and padded over to Demeter, "Great team work!" She beamed at Kafara and Demeter.

"Make sure you get a hold of it!" Shani said loudly when she spotted that Demeter had managed to get on top of the antelope, effectively taking it down for the group. She trotted up to the three lionesses, slowing down and taking a moment to catch her breath- the whole while, positively beaming at them.
"Good job girls," she praised, glancing over to Enzi when he caught up, "And quick thinking, Enzi. You've all done marvelously."
Enzi stumbled after the antelope was chased into Demeter's path and taken down, running up after them to catch up and coming to a short stop beside them- almost tumbling right over Demeter and their catch.
"We did it!"
"Wow," Kafara stopped a short distance from the group of them, smiling at everybody as they took in their success. Remembering what had been said about horns when you weren't paying attention, she glanced around nervously but the rest of the group was gone. She looked back to the antelope and the smiled up at Enzi when Shani commented on his quick thinking. She was very happy for her friend- her friends, all of them.

Demeter tottered off of their catch and cheered, this was a big victory for her-for all of them, team work certainly paid off.
"I would've have been able to catch it without Kafara, " Demeter nudged her happily, "How about we eat?"
Anya panted and trotted over beside Enzi as she tried to catch her breath. "Eating sounds good to me." She beamed happily at all of them. This was a great day, learning to hunt, meeting a new friend, and getting a decent meal. What a great way to sum up there day.
