Move! Sara didn't need the voice to tell her to get the hell out of the way of the incoming attack. Or rather, she assumed it was an attack. Somehow the idea that these blinding flashes of technicolor had some sort of clout behind them was a bit odd, but not exactly difficult to swallow.
The beam of light smashed into the floor where Sara had just been, turning the solid stone to so much broken masonry. Instinctively, she shielded her eyes with the flat of her blade, hearing the high-pitched pings as shards of stone bounced off of the bright, resilient metal.
Swearing profusely, Sara sized the two monsters up. They dwarfed the previous creatures both in size and presumed strength. Having absolutely no clue how to defend herself against these brutes (beyond dodging and running until she could no longer stand). Even then, she knew she wouldn't last too long. She was burned to a crisp with a gimp shoulder and leg. Not to mention the gaping hole in her hand. She imagined these were scars she was going to carry forever. But forever wouldn't be too much longer if she didn't come up with at least a short-term strategy.
The masks, Morning Star. The voice was back. Sara lingered over the way it addressed her, but only briefly. It was giving her advice, she'd better listen. Destroy the masks.
But... Sara glanced at the lumbering things. ... Tall...
Jump. You'll find you can do much more than mortals.
So Sara took a bit of a running start and lept forward, upward. To her surprise and delight, she sailed upwards, touching down lightly on the side of a half-decimated column before pushing off again, this time headed for one monster's head. She landed on the crown of its head and plunged her sword into the white mask. A crack appeared and blood spurted down the length of her blade and over her arms.

Ice stood and watch, he though that was enough for her, at least for now."Okey training is over, come on we have more things to do, I brought this specially for you." and then pulled out a basket, inside the basket there was a boby child, Ice jumped down near Sara placing the baby in front of her, "As a servant to Jes-sama you must obey without questioning and now...Kill it, kill the baby." Ice watched Sara as she had gained her last asigment for the day, for it would have been the easiest thing to do but wasn't sure she wasn't going to do it, he was more than sure that Raijin wouldn't do it.

"Go ******** yourself," Sara replied with malice, sheathing her bloody blade. With no better place to secure it, she held in her left hand-- the hand with the gaping wound. It wept clear fluid and stung terribly, but that wasn't foremost in her thoughts.
Killing monsters was one thing. But a baby? She could appreciate the guy's desire to turn her into a hardened killer, but if he thought she'd be the sort to kill a small, defenseless thing, he had quite another thing coming. She knew she belonged to him-- if only temporarily, in her eyes-- but he'd have to go to some extremes to make her carry out his every command. Despite her disdain, she was wary of him, conscious of the fact that he could hurt her, torture her, even, to force her to do as he desired.
Her wounded hand clenched resolutely around the smooth sheath of her new weapon. Then again, she wasn't exactly defenseless, now.

"Wrong answer, you were going great until now, you failed this test but you must know that your actions did not saved the baby."He then pointed his finger towards the baby and shot a bala at it's head,"This is only to prove you what it means to be a loyal sevant".

Sara didn't let the shock register on her face. She turned away from the scene-- the baby's head had simply vanished in a reddish spray of blood. Now the headless body lolled limply in the stained basket. Sara thought she might be sick if she kept on staring.
"What the hell kind of loyalty was that?" Sara's voice was low and rough as she seethed. "You somehow think loyalty means killing a child. Just because you asked? ******** that! ******** you!" She rounded on him, eyes glowing with hate. "Screw your mindless loyalty, and screw your precious Jes! This is all complete bull! I want my body back! I want my life back,"
And I want you dead, Sara thought but did not say. She hated Ice and genuinely wished he would give her a reason to fight. Even if she was beaten. Even if it meant dying again. She'd love to have a shot at him.

[[I haven't shot yet]]]
"If you want the baby to live your gona have to do something about it", said Ice her behaviour reminded him of himself, that's how he'd react of he had to be place in a situation in which he had to do something which he didn't agreed to.

((Oops >< My bad! Your post read like you did.))
Sara glanced back. She'd only imagined the whole scene, but the image of the headless baby lying in a blood-dappled basket had seemed very real. She pegged it to an over-active imagination. Still, it was quite enough to turn her stomach.
"If that's an invitation to kill you, I'll certainly oblige," Sara said with a hard smile. She turned around, fingers instinctively playing over the hilt of her new sword. Another scene popped into her head. It involved slicing straight through Ice's neck with her blade. Not that she really knew how to use a katana. She would have to make it up as she went along. It wasn't all that different from a metal length of piping. Except sharp.

"Enough," Jes's sharp voice rang out clearly in the barracks. She had appeared in front of Sara and flicked the balas away with little effort. They careened into the walls and dissipated. "That's enough, Hielo. You did well to bring her through the preliminary stages, but in the ways of the sword, I'm handing her over to Raijin,"
Red eyes coolly met Raijin's green ones. "I'd better not see mercy from you," She warned. "Or she'll go right back Ice and I will instruct him to teach her the meaning of the word 'pain'. Or perhaps he'll invent a whole new definition,"
She turned to Sara, now, and her eyes softened imperceptibly. "You would do well to follow Raijin's orders if you're to be of any use to me. I don't want to hurt you, but I will do as I must,"
She kissed Sara on the cheek. Shadows streamed from her lips and settled in Sara's hair and clothing as well as crawling into her eyes, nose, and mouth. Sara's spiritual composition was a combination of reishi particles and Jes's shadows, and in that way they were bound. She doubted Sara could have disobeyed her in the first place, but this was merely insurance.
"Carry on," She stepped away and vanished. The baby and basket were gone with her.

Raijin's eyes met her's his emotion quickly faded, his face now clinical. "As you wish" He said bowing to her command, he then twirled his glaive now looking at sara. "You'd better get ready it would be a shame if I brought you back to Jes sama one appendage short" Raijin said his glaive coming to a stop. His eyes suddenly becoming luminescent as his reiatsu began to rise because of the sudden rush of excitement. "Get ready here I come" He said a sudden smile appearing across his face.
He began to stride forward, wide left and right steps going in a zig zag pattern. His strides began to shorten more power going into his steps allowing him to almost seemingly blur closing the gap of about 200 yards in a matter of seconds. He suddenly disappeared, a shadow now getting bigger over Sara as Hayashi's left arm rose silently his glaive now glinting in the light. His pupils now constricting as he zeroed in on his target. "Don't die" He thought ripping down his left arm sending his glaive crashing down aiming to cut Sara in half, though he was hoping she would parry it.

Ice wasn't 100 % pleased of Jes's decision but he got used to the idea in a short time.He now watched at Raijin to see what his methods were, he knew that both of them didn't liked eachother beracuse of the differences, which didn't allow them to work in a team."Raijin, what are you trying to do?" asked Ice,

Sara felt a strange coldness slide down her throat and a shiver crawled along her spine. The red-eyed Jes was unnerving in the creepiest way, and Sara had been frozen by her, unable to move away as she had leaned in and kissed her. The gesture, generally thought of as friendly, was almost frightening. All the same, Sara felt bound to Jes and she realized she would never have been able to raise her sword against her. It was as though something at the very core of her being robbed her mind of such malice.
She was spared further musings on the matter as Raijin spoke to her. Her attention was diverted by his spinning blade. It was a tall staff capped with a curved blade-- a glaive, she recalled, suddenly. As a little girl, she'd been quite a tomboy, so she recognized different weapons. Pity she didn't know how to use them.
She tracked him as he approached her, eyes following his glaive as he swung it expertly about him. He brought it around in a sort of slicing motion what would easily cleave straight through her. Instinctively, she swept her sword around, blade angled downward. It met the glaive with a sharp clang that resonated through her arm. The combination of practiced strength and a long weapon put her at a disadvantage almost immediately. She disengaged and backed away, holding her blade between herself and Raijin. Suddenly he wasn't so friendly and his green eyes seemed coldly calculating.

"Pitiful" He uttered disappointed at her stance and the way she blocked. "We are going to be working on your form mostly so I will not be aiming to cut you simply seeing how you will react to the attack and form you used. So think of this as a breather, because soon enough you won't be too pleased with what's going to happen" He said walking over to her and stopping. "Your stance must be wider" He said gently kicking the inside of her ankles to get the point across. "also your a women you have more natural flexibility when fighting guys such as myself, so use it when fighting in the future" Raijin said understanding that she was in fact burnt and cut up so she wouldn't be fighting at a 100%.
Raijin's emerald eyes then stared off into the floor allowing him to replay the attack once more in his mind. "Ah, also your not in the human world anymore. You may have been strong then. Though now your no longer anywhere near the strongest so stop blocking head on, angle your blade so that my attacks will simply refract off instead of connecting and possibly break a bone if the attack is strong enough" He said looking at her snapping his finger realizing another point he had forgotten. "Finally when fighting someone with a long ranged weapon, get in close so that I can't strike you properly. Perhaps even using your hands would be more prudent" He said looking at her waiting for her to understand before continuing.

Sara adjusted her stance as Raijin indicated, settling her sandaled feet more firmly on the ground. Most of his advice was practical, though Sara hated hearing it. He had a different style of teaching that Ice-- that was obvious. He demanded a refinement and technique she wasn't sure she had. Swinging a length of metal piping around was basic. Swordplay was complicated. Sword-to-glaive combat required advanced knowledge of two weapons she had never learned. As before, the task seemed impossible, but in a dangerous way that Ice's was not. Somehow she had power. She'd accepted that pretty well. Somehow she had a voice that only she could hear--again, decently accepted.
But even the voice, in all its apparently-infinite wisdom, couldn't teach her swordplay in the amount of time it would take Raijin to dismember her. She was far outstripped in technique as well as strength. He probably had a grip on his power, but she couldn't have summoned hers again if she tried.
"Um," Sara said, realizing she sounded stupid. She continued. "Ok-- does everyone here know how to fight? With a katana, I mean? How do they figure it out? I mean, it is something you're intrinsically born with, here? Or when you die, you suddenly inherit all the know-how associated with a Japanese sword?"
She knew she was being snarky, but she was frustrated. Hadn't her mini-supernova explosion been enough for these guys? Why did they insist on beating her further? Voice, she thought. Input?
Belial.
Translation?
It's my name. Not Voice. You're damned insolent, you know that? She was never like this before. Someone really f*cked with your circuitry this time around.
Oh, good. So I'm a prodigy. Sara smirked then paused. Who are you talking about, anyway?
Rhyelle.
Who?
An angel. First Angel of the Morning? The Morning Star? Ringing some bells?
Absolutely none. Who is she?
She's you, halfwit. Though why she chose this sort of life completely beyond me. Rhyelle is more refined than this. You're just-- I don't know. You have more darkness in you than I've ever seen.
Someone f*cked up the wiring this time, I guess. Sara didn't believe a word Belial was saying, and she hoped the entity in her mind could pick up on the sarcasm in her voice. She also hoped she couldn't detect the hint of hurt in thoughts. Surely this darkness crap wasn't her fault.
No, little hawk, Belial seemed to have noticed. Don't dwell on it, now. Pay attention to Raijin.
