He hadn't noticed the impact of his claws as his mind became fixated on attempting to cause her to submit, rendering her useless so that he could bring her back to the Dhati with him. His body seemed twisted around her as he attempted to find a weak spot or something that would give way and cause the lioness to fall into the web of which he had already begun to weave. But it seemed that her youth only gave her an upper paw in the situation as she twisted free if only at the right moment where her leg seemed to slip free as anxious jaws snapped down with a clenched maw full of nothing but air. Bakunja felt his ears flatten against his skull as a distasteful frown curled upon his maw. His tongue pressed against his fangs as his eyes watched Yuusa all but bound away if only to disappear into the thick underbrush and foliage. Eerie orbs turned away from the scene as the rustling brush's sounds felt like laughter to his ears, mocking him and his feeble attempt. But was this enough to cause him to become disheartened?

No, not a chance.

Webs were never built in a flawless manner as there were times where strings would break and falter or even clumsy creatures would tear them down- unpredictable events and unseen hazards were always present but when, and whether, they would strike remained a mystery. It was all up to chance, wasn't it, and it just so happened that he had struck out. But rest assured, this web hadn't been completely obliterated if anything it had just extended in the most unexpected way.

Of course the lioness had run off with information that she was searching for but there was nothing else of importance or vital to the Dhati that she had leached from him. That was certainly a good thing, one that he felt confident and well pleased in. It also was knowing that now he knew a bit more about this Yuusa that the desire to learn more seemed to infiltrate his ideas. Perhaps there was something more that could be done about her, something that the web could use. She was a stubborn one and yet Bakunja seemed somewhat intrigued although part of him was content. She had been the string he had laid down within the web which had all but snapped if only to leave the web somewhat disoriented and with a hole but, like most things in life, even the most atrocious occurrances could be mended.

A devious smirk crossed his maw as he rose to his paws, tail flicking rather thoughtfully behind him. Dirt and foliage rubbish clung to his fur as it obscured the web pattern upon him as it's appearance made the illusion as if the web was soiled and cluttered with unnecessary objects.

Canting his head slightly, Bakunja looked upon his fur. Ah, perhaps this was only some strange sign that this was something that perhaps he shouldn't concern himself with. It seemed logical, didn't it? As an optimist whose heart remained determined in the cause that laid at his paws, Bakunja exhaled softly and looked back towards the concealing darkness. Whether or not her guards would come after him or the other roars in the distance would resurface was beyond him although in the midst of what had just happened he was only left grinning a bit broadly, if not akwardly as he chuckled.

"Come what may and love it."

As his eyes surveyed the surrounding area Bakunja lowered them to a half lidded state as he submersed himself back into the darkness, hastening his steps as a lone, deep chuckle surfaced from the eerie silence. Within moments his form was all but consumed by nights shadows and the spider webbed male was no more.

At least for now, that is.
