"You are to restrain or retreat," spoke Sanae, her voice hardening as the kind, mother-like face vanished behind that of an evil looking one, seething with ferocity rarely seen in her majesty, "Do not, I repeat, do not come into contact with our enemy. Simply avoid force at all costs and proceed. But," she spoke, her voice lightening a bit, "If are enemies should find and approach with aggression, you are to use force if necessary, provided that they approach you first. But nothing to drive them at our doorstep. Understood?" she asked, her dark eyes glowering at the two.Kusakage Intro Theme

"Sure sure" Yoshitsune responded, forming one ahnd seal. In a swirl of wind, it was as if he was never there.

In a swirl of air, Hizuma appeared inside the Kusakage's office. Sighing quietly to himself, he slipping one finger under his facial bandages and scratched the corner of his blind eye. Slipping his finger out, he resumed his statuesque pose, waiting to be noticed.

"You... have arrived," smiled Lady Sanae as she calmly sipped her tea, "And you have returned from the snow? So... tell me... what you saw," said Sanae as she set her cup down and leaned forward, intent in listening as her dark eyes fixated on him without movement.Kusakage Fight Theme

Yoshitsune hung his head at the somewhat-lame joke about his vision. "Snow. Lots of snow. Huge samurai-looking things. More snow. Villagers huddled in fright. Empty streets. the occasional animal running wild. Really the only thing wierd were the samurai-looking people" he finished. He didn't care if she thought his description boring, but that really was all he saw.

Sanae let out a cruel, maddening laugh and sighed, taking her brush from her desk, 'Useless...' she though, rolling it in ink. "Samurai... huh?" she asked, taking out a scroll as she did so, "Well then... how about the Clouds? Or the Rain?" she asked, opening the scroll as she began painting furiously at the paper's surface with a sick smile, "Go. Be my eyes... and please, don't mistake my bluntness for humor, Hizuma-chan," said Sanae as she continued to paint what appeared to be a monster of some sort...Kusakage Fight Theme

"Rain village turned up nothing but some rather good sake and rumors about Snow, hence why I went there next. Cloud I did not check...yet" he said almost monotonously. He began to feel a little on edge about the Kage's abrupt switch into madness, but decided not to say anything about her continuous jokes about his blind eyes. He concentrated a little more chakra into his eyes, catching a glimpse of her painting without moving his head. Shrugging, he made a hand seal and disappeared in a swirl of air.

It had been quiet in the Village Hidden in the Grass, and almost too good to believe in. One should not question a good thing. And yet, it bothered her, knowing that at any moment, they might attack. Though their defense was heavy, their village was pretty domesticated. Hardly any genin resided here. She then painted herself a small sparrow of some sort and brought it to life with a tap of her finger. It had twittered a bit, then ruffled its feathers, then looked at its mistress with curiousity, twitching its head as it chirped. "Go on," she spoke, swatting it with her hand, "Go be my eyes." It had then alighted and flew off in the direction she had wanted it to go, and she watched it with a heavy heart as she sat inside her prison of an office. ... She feared she was not yet adaptive.Kusakage Fight Theme

The moment it came back, it had returned to the paper of the scroll and formed words containing information she had sought to find in the Sand village. He face paled with livid rage; so, little Sazoru had gotten Father's sword, had he...? Father had never paid mind to her. He had always adored Sazoru, and his mother. Her mother was of pure Ikimi blood. A perfect woman for Muramase. But no. He favored that loathsome runt and his filthy whore of a mother--! Sanae's rage had simmered down for a bit and picked up her brush from the fine ink, writing something down on a piece of paper before rolling it up. No way would she let HIM have something priceless and treasured as their father's sword. Him, that brainless idiot--! For years, the Sand had always been at peace. Always held a connection and a mutual bond and understanding. But this--! This was too far! That was hers! She then rolled up the paper and glanced at one of her messenger birds inside the cage. She then opened the door softly and gently picked one out, tying the letter to the small bird's foot before letting it go out the window. She watched as it flew, then got out a shamesen from underneath her desk and began playing... ... No matter how much her fingers ached.

On the floors beneath the office, a cacophony of thumping, banging and muffled "I'M SORRY"'s could be heard. They'd become increasingly louder as the assumed instigator made their way up the stairs.
A soft "whump" ended the chaos and all was silent for a moment. The office door creaked open to reveal a pair of black antennae, which twitched before being followed by the rest of Vesti's head.
"L-Lady K-K-Kusakage..? Uh... I-I believe you--ah--sorry--ah... note..." Vesti sheepishly held up the note of summons and bowed quickly.

"Vesti," she spoke, looking up from her painting as she quickly set it aside to dry, "So glad you could come. I have a favor to ask of you. If you don't mind. It appears that Yoshitsune, Tsubasa, and Amatsu will not be joining us. That's quite alright. For this mission, I have something special in mind," she said, taking out another scroll, letting it unfurl on her desk. She then took out a smaller brush from her desk's drawer and began smearing it in paint as she began to draw what looked to be a sword of some sort. "Now," she said, brushing her hair out of her face, "Come now, sit, sit. Tell me, what does this look like to you? What do you see?"

Vesti nodded hastily and nearly tripped over himself to sit in his designated seat. He carefully adjusted his arm so as to not sit on it or scuff the floor as he looked over the scroll. Vesti wasn't sure whether he was happy there weren't more people around or nervous to be alone with the Kusakage. She was intimidating... moreso than other people at least... hell, everything was intimidating to Vesti.
"I-I'm not one to be making assumptions, but... is... is it a sword..?" he cautioned a guess.

"Yes," said Sanae, letting her brush paint something else within the painting's paper, "And now? How about now?" Slowly, the ink had formed and a man with wild hair had been drawn, next to the sword. Both the sword and the man now seemed to be moving...Kusakage Fight Theme

Now that he had had a chance to calm down a little, Vesti's brow furrowed in concentration as he watched the painting. "A... warrior..?" he hazarded, sounding more confident than before. Frustration flashed across his face as he continued to stare intensely at the figure.

"... Correct," said Sanae, putting her paint brush down. Slowly, she raised her hand above the painting and touched the paper with her finger. The paper trembled for a bit, then came to life. The man moved and began running towards the sword, grabbing it as he raised it high in the air. "Several years ago, man had longed to possess this sword. Only one had managed to find it. And that man had proclaimed himself as god. For now he, had the divine weapon of his majesty..." The man then began jumping and slashing at the air, cheering as he ran with it high over his head, until Sanae had picked up the brush and let each dot of ink transform into an army of a thousand men. "His enemies, all killed, were no match for the divine sword, and everyone had began to fear him. He was truly, a great warrior. But..." As the man hacked and slashed at his enemies, he began to grow, shifting into a shape so sinister, that the tiny little people began to flee on the other side of the painting. "It was his greed... that led to his demise. His greed that killed him, his people, and his enemies. For man was no longer 'man', but monster. And the sword his mind... forever." Flames began to surround the painting now, and the poor tiny people had began to cower at the monster as it hulked its way towards them, until Sanae's finger had left the paper and it had all smeared as if it had been washed away. "The man... is now dead. His body, and mind, put to rest. But his soul lived on. Into the sword. Until now..." she said, her face paler than ever, "That sword... is an instrument ought never to be touched. It destroys and corrupts the hearts of men and turns them into demons lust for the blood and hunt of a good kill. For battle. For war..." She then closed her eyes and let out a sigh, putting her hand on her head, "... That is what killed 'Father'."Kusakage Fight Theme
