March 15, 2004

Today I managed to procure a beautiful bloom from the Feiein Fairy shop here in Barton. My blossom has four petals and is mainly a royal blue striped with black. I am very interested to see what my fairy looks like and am eagerly looking forward to learning about their personality and traits. I am theorizing that my feien may be a water element due to the blue color of its petals, but I am not certain.

Very Early March 16, 2004

After careful thought and consideration I have decided to place Sunil, my blossom, in a tiny bowl of cool water by my bed. The dark color of the blossom makes me think it might long for deeper waters though, so I am going to play my tape of whale sounds tonight while I sleep. Hopefully these measures will help Sunil feel at home with me.

Oh no! I woke with a vague feeling that something was wrong but I didn't know what it was until I glanced over at Sunil. Sunil was shivering and upset! I immediately removed the blossom from the water and turned off the tape. I gently dried the poor thing off and have now placed Sunil on a dry towel close to the window. The sun is gently shining there and I hope that will help.

I went to the Feien HQ today. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I know Corvus wasn't it. He is a little rough around the edges, but he gave me a hint to help out Sunil and I have to like him for that if nothing else. He said to just keep Sunil near me and everything should work out. I'm so happy! I can definately keep Sunil with me all day. I've tucked her into my shirt pocket for the time being.

Early March 17, 2004

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Now that it is time for bed I can't keep Sunil in my pocket anymore. I was in the middle of making a bed for her, but when I got back to finish it after dinner it was laying on the floor slightly broken. It probably was just a gust of wind, since some of the other stuff by my bed was all a little out of place. However this isn't the first odd thing that has happened lately and my imagination is starting to run out of control. I'll have to work on the bed later when I have time to buy more supplies, so in the meantime I have placed Sunil on her own pillow next to mine. Hopefully tonight will go better than last night for her.

4am March 17, 2004

I am writing this from the living room on the first floor. My bedroom is up on the third floor which should tell you something is wrong. Something is really wrong. So lately all of these odd little things have been happening (stuff getting knocked over, stuff disappearing, etc.) to me. Nothing too big of a deal, but odd. About 10 mins ago I woke up when I felt a shadow fall on me. There was something tall and dark standing in front of my window in the moonlight. I panicked and edged my way out of the door on the opposite side of the room. The shape made no movements towards me, but I could feel it watching me. Thank goodness I had the sense to grab Sunil on the way out since I have no idea what that thing wanted. Sunil and I are going to crash on the couch down here for the night and hope that whatever it was hasn't followed us.

St. Patrick's Day

I didn't get much sleep last night on the couch. I think Sunil is looking a little better though. I actually woke up with a rather strong urger to go shopping today, so I got dressed, popped Sunil into a spot on my flower headband (so she could see where we were going), and then took off to the minishops. It might have been my imagination but I think Sunil brightened up a little on the trip! She especially seemed interested in a tea shop we ventured into, so I bought her a couple teasets. I also picked her up a katana, but it is obviously too big for her to ever use.

March 19, 2004

The last few days have been very hectic and I haven't gotten a chance until now to sit down and actually sort stuff out in my mind enough to write about it.

The ghost is still here. I tried to sleep in my bedroom again on Wednesday night, because over the course of the day I convinced myself that the figure had merely been a dream. However, I woke again feeling some sort of shadow fall over me in my sleep. I don't know why that wakes me up, I suppose there is a feeling of "shadow" that accompanies the actual physical shadow cast by the creature. I say creature but the figure stand tall and thin like a man. Although I think I should have stayed perhaps turned on the lights or tried to converse with him, (I just have a feeling it is a "him".) once again I allowed terror to overcome common sense and I ran. Once again I was safe once I reached the bottom floor of the house. I've slept there the last few night on the couch. I've only ventured into my room with the daylight shining in, but I know eventually I am going to have to face him.

Outside of that I have been carrying Sunil with me everywhere and she definately reacts to things, although it is odd to think of a flower "reacting" to things.

Oh yes and I have a new member to my household. My puri egg hatched into an absolutely gorgeous girl who I am calling Ixtli. She seemed pretty tired after her hatching so I really haven't had a chance to interact with her much, but she is so soft. I've been petting her where she is sleeping on the end of my bed for the last hour or so I think. I'm thinking the best thing to do is to sleep here tonight in my room and confront who ever it is who keeps appearing. Maybe Ixtli can help me out.

March 20, 2004

So after all that the ghost didn't even show up. I slept the whole night through and woke up in the morning to find the sun shining and my room totally as I had left it. I tried to ask Sunil and Ixtli about it, but neither of them seemed to have any answers. None that I could understand anyway. I even resirted to asking Susu, but he is absolutely useless now that Ixtli is around. She towers over him and I think he's intimidated.

Speaking of Ixtli she seems like a typical cat so far. Not interested in anything I am doing and yet always underfoot. xp

Sunil seems well, we stopped by the store for a bit today. I spoke very briefly with a Kimiko who still has a bloom, Miyako. I tried discussing elements with Kimiko, but she just gave me a weird look so I gave up. I basically spent the whole time scribbling down a short story and then fell asleep. When I woke up no one seemed to be active so I skipped out.

Night March 20, 2004

So I went back to the shop and there was quite the commotion over some new "special" bloom. Sunil seemed extremely interested in it, but Corvus didn't want anyone touching it. He made a shield around it to keep people out. I wonder if Sunil will ever be able to do that? Corvus probably studied for a long time to be able to work such powerful magic. Although I wanted to get a closer look just like Sunil, I understand that Corvus didn't want us traumatizing the poor newcomer.

Anyway Ixtli is getting to be quite the brat. I had to leave her at home both times I visted the feien shop because I am honestly not sure what she would have done. Earlier today she was telling people she should be worshipped and then she was trying to learn to "strut her stuff" with the other girl puris so she could "tame" boys and get them to bring her stuff so she can be a "princess". I really am not sure I see her and Sunil meshing very well, but Sunil is still a bloom.

I'm taking no chances on the ghost tonight. I'm going to stay awake with the lights off all night. I want to know what is going on. And with Sunil and Ixtli by my side I probably could take on.... well nothing really, but I'll pretend.

Early Morning March 21, 2004

So I stayed up all night. I'm pretty tired, but this needs to be recorded. He did come again. Although I didn't fall asleep, somehow it fely like I just suddenly woke up and he was there. Not only did he feel like "shadow" but he smelled faintly of something like cloves. I shook Ixtli to awaken her and noticed Sunil was glowing. (I thought that was odd, but I honestly was drawn to him.) Ixtli didn't get up though. I don't think she could. I think he was there for me and only me. His eyes are amber, but I still don't know his name or purpose. After about a minute of staring at me, during which my mind was a complete blank, he vanished. It was so sudden I think he disappeared between blinks. But his scent lingered. Its very seductive and I wonder why I didn't ever smell it before. I hope he comes again. I think I'm going to the library later today. Something about him feels so familiar. Perhaps I can find some clues.

~kamtrouble

P.S. I found a small amber bracelet on the floor by my window. It sparkles with gold flecks in the light. I think I'm going to wear it. I'm not sure I could resist it if I wanted to.

Noonish March 21, 2004

So after last night and the small amount of sleep I got, I decided to take a nap. However I wasn't asleep very long before I felt something brushing my face. I opened my eyes to a little blue blur hovering about an inch from my face.

"Oh good you're awake! I was wondering when you'd make it back to consciousness. You know you snore something awful."

At that comment Ixtli sniggered and I reached for my glasses. Turns out the rude little bugger was Sunil. She is very beautiful but what an attitude. (I just got told by Sunil, who is of course reading over my shoulder, that she is not a bug. Its a good thing she doesn't know what bugger actually means. Oh great, she has now opened the dictionary. I'm gonna hear about this.)

Anyway, when I told Sunil I was going to the library she happily agreed to come along. We're leaving as soon as she finishes her diary entry. Ixtli has decided to sleep in since she doesn't know what need anyone would have of "books". (She says that word with such disgust I can't believe she lives with me.) Anyway cats need like 14 hours of sleep a day so I can't say I'm surprised.

Day One

I'm glad kam had the forsight to get me a notebook and pen set ahead of time. It would have been a pain to have to go get one myself. I have to say the other gifts she bought me impress me to varying degrees. I am intrigued by the bonsai (kam says it needs to be trimmed for its own good.) and I love Susu. He will make a perfect accomplice in my endeavors. I also appreciate the katana, however I will need to find a proper sheath for it. I am looking forward to tea, kam says it is very soothing and can help you think, but I'm not sure how I feel about the butterfly yet. I find it vaguely disturbing that it is in a cage, but I do appreciate it's beauty.

Anyway kam and I are off to the library where I hope to do some research on the feien. I am curious to know more about my kind. I suppose at some point to gain greater knowledge I will have to corner Corvus and force him to talk. However, if my recollections of him from my bloom stage are accurate, he will be a tough nut to crack. This will take planning.

Day One, Part Two

I had a wonderful time at the library. It seems that there are several different forms of magic in the world, but the one I felt the most affinity for was runes. I photocopied several pages out of a book about runes and divination with kam's help and am going to study it for the next several days. I was hoping to get supplies to make my own stones from the Feien shop (kam says they have stones and paint) but the shopkeeper, Em, wasn't there. Probably out with the special bloom.

I also met with Seamus today in the shop. He seems like a bit of a pushover, literally. I tried to push him off kam's shoulder since he talked about how lucky he was and he seemed to forgive me after I said I was sorry. I wouldn't have forgiven me. I think I would have gotten even. I'll have to keep my eye on him in case he feels the same way.

I also met Rynn, whose fairy is still a bloom. It is a water element I think and it seemed to really like me. Maybe I can recruit it to my cause at some point. I will need loyal minions if I am to do what I hope.

I will record my findings as I continue my study of runes. I do hope I can make some stones soon so I can try a casting.

Bedtime March 21, 2004

I didn't find anything about amber and cloves in the library but I photocopied a couple of things I came across. I'll put notes here as I read them. I tried to remove the bracelet and it won't ome off my hand. It just seems to get smaller the farther I try to push it down my hand until it is so tight I can't move it. Moving it back loosens it up. Perhaps putting it on was a poor idea. We'll see what happens tonight.

Sunil is a bit of a handful. She photocopied whole books at the library on runes, divination, magic, and fairy mythology. I have to say I am intimidated by how much information she seems to need. She won't even tell me why she wants it. Even worse she was very rude to Seamus when we visited the Feien shop for supplies (which we didn't get - I gotta remember to go back sometime). Luckily he was extremely tolerant of her immature behavior. I really hope she mellows a little with age. I don't want to have to always be around her to make sure she plays nice.

Day Two

Kam woke me up today. And not by snoring. She shook me awake and muttered something about dreams. Then she ambled off to the kitchen and returned with a mug of green tea for me and a giant sized one for herself. I'm not sure why we got up so early and I didn't ask. Morning presents a perfect time for my studies since Ixtli and Susu are still asleep on the bed. Cats are so lazy, but there is nothing they like better than laying on things when you're trying to read them.

I thought last night to start with runes, but since I still don't have my own set I have decided to start with bonsais.

Notes
- Apparently bonsai is the art a shaping a miniature (Ha! Most are bigger than me!) tree through shaping, pruning, and trimming.
- The bonsai should be placed off-center in a container
- The idea is to strip away all but the essential nature of the tree.
- There are five basic styles each with different principles.

Bonsai looks like it could be a good practice for shaping people to my will. I'll start with the flowering bonsai I already have and then maybe order seeds to start another.

I'll need to nag kam to take me back to the store at some point. She looks like she is going to be forgetful today
.

March 22, 2004

I am so tired. I slept all night, but somehow I woke up feeling more like I hadn't slept at all. I think he visited me again last night, but in my dreams. However, I woke up with almost no recollection of them just a faint memory of his eyes looking into mine. Who is he? He feels so familiar and yet I have no idea who he could be.

I woke Sunil up with me and made her some green tea to start out the morning. I think she liked it. Right now she is just sitting cross legged on the bed reading off huge pieces of photocopied paper (Note to self: shrink the pages while photocopying next time.) and scribbling in her notebook. I hope shes not up to anything too dangerous.

Dreaming...

Kam stands in a long hallway, her bare feet sinking into a plush white and gold carpet. Her body feels large, almost ungainly and as she looks down at it she realizes she is pregnant. For some reason this thought doesn't disturb her, in fact it is reassuring.

Then she hears the silence. This hall should never be quiet. The throne room is down the hall and her husband should be celebrating with his men after a successful hunt.

She lurches forward, concerned, and begins her flight down the hall. Before she can get to the end, the silence stops. And she knows that long before the end she is going to wish it would come back.

At the entrance to the throne room, she sinks to her knees, shaking, on a carpet now stained with red and feels her insides lurch.

Afternoon March 22, 2004

I just woke in a cold sweat. I didn't get enough rest last night, so I thought to take a nap. The worst part is I can't even remember the dream. I just woke completely terrified, smelling blood. It has got to be the bracelet. I have to get it off tomorrow or I think it going to drive me slowly insane by not allowing me to sleep.
