Professor Pridemore scooted into a more comfortable position and crossed his legs and seemed to be all together enjoying himself, "Thank you I always enjoy getting to meet new students. Anyone else, Trista? Perhaps one of the young ladies who tip toed in very politely?" He looked around the room cheerfully. He smiled at them and look as though there was nowhere in the world that he'd rather be, that nowhere would provide him this much fun and excitement.

Trista looked up as the professor said her name. She stood slowly and began, "I'm Trista Finsteti. Ravenclaw, fifth year. I was born into an all muggle family, but my parents have split up since then. My mother lives in London, while my father lives in France. I've been living with him, but I visit my mother from time to time. I am very dedicated to my school classes, but I don't think I'll be looking to become an auror in my lifetime. I really don't know what I'd like to be. It's always been a dream of mine to become a chef." Trista looked down again, almost ashamed to say aloud that she did not wish to become an auror like many others. She really just didn't have the ambition to become such a thing. When she was finished, she quickly sat down in her chair again, but looked up to glance around the room and back at the teacher.

Professor Pridemore looked at her for a long moment sensing that she was embarassed about expressing her dream. "There is nothing to be ashamed of." He stood and looked around the room, taking a moment to meet each of his students in the eye, "Dreams are necessary to life, they are illustrations from the book your soul is writing about you. If one advances confidently in the direction of her dreams, and endeavors to live the life which she has imagined, she will meet with success unexpected in common hours. I honestly believe that you can be anything you want." He smiled warmly, "Life holds no boundaries to those who stand strong. Hold onto your dreams and do not be shy about them." Looking incredibly amused he sat back down on his chair and crossed his leg again and waited for the next of his students to speak.

marduke stood and rasied her head. her voice trickled out of her mouth as she began to speak. "my name is marduke black. Slytherin, 7th year. My aunt teaches herbology here. i am from a broken family who are all purebloods. my mother is a crazy loone and my father trains aurors and we are just now getting in touch after 5 years." marduke swallowed hard to choke back tears that hadn't surfaced yet, and she adjusted her scarf. "i love herbology and hope to return someday to hogwarts to teach it. if i don't come back to hogwarts i aim for professional qudditch. hogwarts in my home and my friends are what keeps me going"

Emylee squirmed uncomfortably in her seat. She hated speaking in front of people, she was unbearably shy and liked to be alone.

The professor watched Marduke for a few moments. He smiled at her softly, "Thank you very much my dear. I am sorry that life has been unkind to you, but there is always a light at the end of a long dark tunnel. I see much happiness to come to you in life. Everything will work out for you, trust me." He watched her for a moment longer and looked at the rest of his students. "Is there anyone else who would like to speak? I will not force anyone to do so."

Persephone stood up after the professor asked if there was anyone else. "I'm Persephone Price, a Gryffindor 7th year, but i didn't start attending Hogwarts until 4th year. Before that, i went to a private magical school that is known for training aurors. Though it seems to be the popular profession at the moment," Persephone said with a strange tone, "I assure you that i take it extremely seriously. Like Ryu, my parents were aurors, but they died in action. I only have one year left at Hogwarts before i move on to the real world, and i really want to make it count." She sat down with a solid expression on her face, making sure it didn't betray her thoughts.

Ginger had taken a seat in the very back of the class, suspicious as she always was around new teachers. Especially teachers Chelsea had picked out she had learned to tread carefully around. After all, they might have all been hired to spy or something. After the very extraordinary introduction however, Ginger frowned. It seemed like either she had been overly paranoid, or this Professor was an extremely skilled actor. Of course, both could be correct, she smiled wryly to herself. Listening to the introductions of her friends, she wondered whether she should be including the tiny fact that her sister was the headmistress of the school. Deciding not to, and leaving just her surname obvious in case Venemir noticed, she stood up. "I'm Virginia Pure, a Slytherin fifth year. I come from a whole family of purebloods who think Hogwarts should listen to Salazar Slytherin's advice and kick out all muggle-borns and "Blood traitors"." She paused, tilting her head slightly. " I, on the other hand, think they are being ridiculous. " Knowing she had voiced what others already knew, she added inconsistently," I like Quidditch, and would love to join a professional team when I leave Hogwarts."

The elserly Professor chuckled almost inaudiably as Ginger introduced herself. "Excellent, a big thank you to everyone who was brave enough to talk and for those of you who did not we will get to know you during the year. Now unless anyone has just now mustered up the courage to do so we can begin." The Professor froze in his seat to see if anyone spoke up.

Mitsu smiled a bit before speaking up, her accent shining through some.
"My name is Mitsuko Watson. I'm in Slytherin, 5th year. I am part british and part japanese. I am one half of a set of twins. My brother goes to Durmstrang and I go here, my aunt currently takes care of us as my parents have sadly passed away." she stopped for a second before continiuing on.
"My dearest ambtion in life is to be an Auror, although I've always had a secret love for pastries. I like to design cakes in my spare time you see. I also like to have fun." She then sat down again and smiled brightly, flicking back her hair as her murky blue eyes looked to the class.
She then contented herself to waiting for the lesson to begin.

Professor Pridemore rpse from his chair and smiled broadly at his class. "Very well let's begin then, picture in your minds eye a happy little gentlemen. He skips and he skips everywhere he goes and he refuses to say anything, he just sings excessively, even when the moment is inappropriate for such behaviors. Can anyone tell me what potion that man may have recently taken?" The professor smiled as he watched his students searching their minds for the answer.

Mitsu blinked and wracked her brain for the answer, she looked through her potions book, trying to find the right potion. Her murky blue eyes scanned and scanned until she found it. She raised her hand and when he looked at her she spoke.
"Umm...is it a Draught of Peace? It says that it causes a person to relax and soothe away anxiety, but it also says it could cause the person to be very happy. Unless my eyes have gone bad from to many nights reading by candle light." She said chuckling gently.
"Or, could it be a Happiness potion? Oh what's the name of it..." she said, falling silent and knowing full well she might as well just gotten the answer wrong, but it seemed that Draught of peace was clsoe but she knew there had to be anothe rpotion which made one completely happy.
But als Mitsuko could not remember.
"I'm probably wrong though" She said grinning abit. "At least i gave it shot." she said to herself.

Pridemore smiled at both of them, "It is not the draught of peace, but that is a wonderful guess. The man's singing is a symptom of a certain elixir. Five points to Slytherin for the bravery answering first, but she needs to learn not to doubt herself. Believe in yourself no matter what you do, even if it is providing an answer that may be incorrect." he said to Mitsu and then he looked at Emylee, "Yes, very good my dear...I'm sorry I don't know your name. But she is quite right the elixir to induce euphoria may have symptoms that include excessive singing. Can anyone tell me what has been used to adviod this? Fifteen points to Ravenclaw for giving us the correct answer."

Mitsu blushed brightly at the sudden words of encouragement and nodded her head, smiling gently at the Professor.
"Thank you sir." she said before scratching the tip of her nose trying to get her blush to go away.
What would her brother say? Oh yeah 'Aww look it tough little Mitsu is blushing like a little kid! How cute! You'll never win over people as an auror that way. Toughen up and don;t get so flustered.' oh yes, her brother's imaginary voice always killed her mood.
She did however manage to keep a somewhat silly smile on her face.
