Galahad had no idea if he was anywhere close to where Nita had chosen to travel. The woods were rather expansive, and she was so small and left no trail to track. She could have darted any number of ways, but the young stallion could only hope he might catch sight of her small, pink and violet form.

Fortunately, the spirits were with him. Not long after Nita scurried away from where Nocturne and Numielle stood, Galahad also caught sound of their voice.

"It's strange, mother. I think this might be love."

"Well Numi definitely wants to meet Nocky's sweet special face, yes, yes she does! Love is good. Love is . . . the best."

He recognized both immediately, as only one mare in this woods ever used the term 'special' in such a peculiar manner. And the deeper voice, the quiet one, the one reffered to as 'Nocky' he knew without a doubt was that of his foalhood friend and companion.

Pushing his way through the woods, he made sure his steps were obvious. Sure enough, he could spot their forms looking his way, Nocturne taking a few steps closer with his wings half flared. "Who goes there?"

His foot falls must not have been recognized, which wasn't unsurprising. He'd only returned to Islagiatt very recently and didn't expect anyone to remember him. "Just an old friend returned," He spoke, unable to hide his smile at Nocturne's surprise.

The stallion had indeed looked startled to see the appearance of his old, foal-hood friend, though Numielle gave a squee of recollection amidst her excitement. "I don't mean to intrude, but I am seeking someone. You remember our friend, Nita, don't you Nocturne?"

Nocturne's eyes went wide with surprise as he considered the memory of their friend, of their adventures together. "Nita. I recall her, yes, but haven't seen her in quite some time. What makes you think she'd be here?"

Galahad's ears flattened and he dipped his head, heaving a sigh. "We crossed paths only moments ago. Unfortunately, she suddenly grew upset, shrank, and took off. I . . . I have no idea where she might have gone, but I do know she was looking for you."

The thought seemed to surprise the ebony stallion, and the orbs that he possessed seemed to flare. With his spiked tail swinging a bit in agitation, his brwos knit with concern. ". . . Nita. Two eyes are better for one, and I can likely get assistance from others if necessary. It would be good to see her again."

Galahad smiled, though his green eyes were slightly pained. "I would appreciate it. She did seem . . . quite distraught. . . and I'd rather find her to make sure she is going to be well. I'm sorry we don't have time to reunite properly, friend, but . . . ."

"No apologies needed. Hopefully you won't be so keen on running off with rogue angeni's . . ." Turning towards his mother, he bowed his head and gave a little smile. "Forgive me, mother, but I must be away."

Thankfully, the winged female was understanding. Flapping her wings, tail wagging swiftly behind her, she gave a small laugh. "No apologies necessary! Numi says go find your friend, and find her soon! Give her flowers to make her feel better, oh yes, yes you must! Flowers always bring smiles, yep, yep, yep!"

Galahd couldn't help but grin at the older mutant's encouragement. "I think splitting up might be best. . . She was small though, very small. If you take the higher hills, I'll seek closer to the low lands."

Nocturne gave a small grunt of acknowledgment, already focused at the task at hand. To find a little flutter amidst the woods would be like finding a needle in the haystack. Hopefully though, the spirits would bless one or the other. . . . With luck, the little flutter wouldn't get far.

The flutter didn't know where she was going exactly. She was tumbling, crashing, falling through space with no real grasp of where she was going. She knocked into the trunk of a tree and tumbled to the ground, pausing to catch her breath. Why was she so upset? Was she really so fragile? She shook her head, trying to clear and organize her thoughts. She tried to run down the situation slowly in order to better understand. Nona had left the family in her own pursuits. Nita had felt lonely, had traveled some but had circled back here, to the place of her childhood. She'd sought out her oldest friend and crush Nocturne, only to run into Galahad, whom she'd thought never to see again. She felt.... something... when she was with him but it was so new and ill formed she couldn't place it. She fled from him, though she now couldn't understand why, and found Nocturne, whom she'd first searched for, only to discover he'd found love. She was both happy for him, and lonely for herself. "It was a silly crush anyway," she told herself softly, beginning to grow to normal size again. She'd had enough flying. She began walking more slowly now, still aimless as she sorted through her thoughts.

Where Nocturne had searched one direction, Galahad had searched the other. Thankfully, the spirits were kind to the pair, and allowed the young unicorn to maneuver through the underbrush that brought him closest to his friends trail.

He didn't understand at all why she grew so upset! Of course Nocturne would have remembered her. While he was a stoic creature, often too serious for his own good, he wasn't heartless or cruel. Given, the pale stallion understood that it must have come to some surprise to his spike-tailed friend to become aware of not just one, but two foal-hood friends encounters. . . .

Oh. But he couldn't understand Nita's sudden panic!

The green eyed unicorn felt worry and concern as he navigated the lands. There really was little he could do until he found her. All the questioning and concern in the world would bring him no closer to an answer, and would likely only make him more upset! "Nita!?" He called out, his voice wearing his concern.

Galahad wasn't a typically loud stallion, but he truly did desire to locate her. Sure, the sound of his voice might make her run and spook her, but that was the risk he was going to have to take. Navigating the terrain that was both familiar but new (he had been away many years!) the stallion continued his hunt, green eyes seeking any sign of the flutters presence.

Thankfully, she had slowed in her movements, as well as grew. With Nocturne having given word for local fauna to keep an eye out on a pink flutter, and to report to he or Galahad, it didn't take long for both Nocturne and the unicorn to become aware of her general proximity.

Galahad would arrive first and long before Nocturne. Pushing his way through the woods, green eyes eventually landed on the wispy wings of his friend. She was petite but hard to miss amidst such natural colors. "Nita. . .?" He spoke, keeping his distance, chest heaving from the wild goose chase he'd been sent on. His tone wasn't accusing or aggressive or even upset, just concerned. "Please tell me you're all right." He knew something had happened but . . . . but what . . . ?

She'd been so upset, hopefully she'd calmed down. Galahad didn't approach, didn't want to send her off once more. Finding a flutter in the middle of the woods was near impossible!

The mare was roused from her thoughts suddenly as the stallion called to her. She turned and faced him, surprise in her eyes. "Galahad?" He had followed her! And with such concern! Oh how foolish the flutter felt. She bowed her head, unable to meet the unicorn's eyes. "Oh Galahad... I am such a foolish creature..." Her voice was soft with a hint of sadness. "I'm sorry to have run off. I don't know what's the matter with me." It was an understatement, to be sure! She heaved a sigh and glanced around, trying to assess where they were. "I think we're near my father's grove." It had been a while since she'd spoken with her father. It occurred to her suddenly that the wise stallion might be able to shed some light on her confusion. She turned back to Galahad, a slight, sheepish smile on her face. "Perhaps you could be so kind as to escort me?" She didn't want him to go just yet, her confusing feelings surfacing once more. She would walk slowly, staying with the unicorn as long as possible. "I am so very sorry for worrying you." She moved closer to Galahad, encouraging him to be near her. "I am such a wreck of late." How could she possibly explain it? She didn't understand it herself. She needed guidance, advice. "I saw Nocturne..." her voice grew taught.. "I heard him talking. I think that he has found a mate." She forced a smile. "How lovely for him!" She knew she was happy for him on some level, but her own loneliness seemed to grip her heart. Why had she thought she would be with him? They were friends as children. Perhaps her crush was misplaced. "Shall we go to my father's grove?"

Galahad was relieved when Nita didn't take off and spook once more. While he didn't think he had done anything to drive her away, the suddenness of her flight had caused him to wonder if perhaps he'd offended or slighted her in some way. Thankfully, that didn't appear to be the case. Giving a shake of his head, eternally patient, the long-horned stallion dismissed her apology. "No, no . . . You're not foolish. Obviously you felt a need to escape, perhaps just to think over matters or clear your head. I hope you might forgive me for trailing . . . " She hadn't asked him to come or to follow, after all. For all he knew he might be breaching her personal space! "I just wanted to be sure you were going to be all right." He smiled softly, genuinely pleased that she really did seem to be a bit more grounded.

That was good. If she asked him to leave, he would, and this time he wouldn't worry.

Surprisingly though, Nita didn't shoo him off. In fact, she requested him as an escort, something he hadn't been since his time spent with Kaiya. His ears pricked a bit, and he couldn't help but chuckle as he lowered his head a most formal bow. "It would be my pleasure, m'lady," and such was the truth! He found himself eager to walk with the petite and wispy-winged mare . . . .but, it was no surprise. She was his foalhood friend, a faded memory come back to life in vibrant color. It made sense he'd want to be near. . . didn't it?

Ever the gentleman, he bridged the distance between himself and Nita, guiding her forward in to the woods. He allowed her to lead, as he himself was unfamiliar and outdated with this neck of the woods, but his focus and attention was entirely on her. "What are friends for, but to worry over the ones they find most dear?" Giving his tail a small flick, he added, "I am sorry to hear you are distraught, and even more sorry that there seems little I can do to ease such suffering. If you wish to rant or rave or . . . just talk, I hope you know I'm ready to listen."

Thankfully, she was already speaking. Sort of. She didn't seem to know what was ailing her, and Galahad wished more than anything he might somehow be able to ease her concerns. He didn't like seeing her so upset and so unhappy. Even her own smiles were forced.

. . . but Galahad also wasn't foolish. She had grown upset at the mention of Nocturne, and of the spike-tailed stallion forgetting her. She also seemed a bit . . . strained . . .bringing up Nocturne once more. Part of Galahad wondered if something had happened between the two of them. .. He'd been gone so long, he knew nothing of their stories together once he had left. "A mate, eh? I saw him, briefly, as well but haven't had a chance to catch up or learn details. It would be a blessing if he found such happiness." But unlike Nita, Galahad's words weren't forced and were genuine. . . if a bit surprised.

"I suppose we all are of that age. . ." He spoke, more to himself, as he glanced periodically towards his friend. He was still concerned about her reaction, her uncertainty and confusion. Unfortunately though, he was no mind reader, and could only hope his presence might offer her some comfort.

She wasn't used to all of the attention and couldn't help from blushing. Galahad was so kind, so caring, and to one he hadn't known in such a long time! She was warmed by his presence, comforted by his words. "Anyone who finds themselves among your friends should be counted lucky. You are a dear friend indeed." She smiled warmly at him, glancing away shyly a moment later. "I appreciate your offer to listen, though... I don't rightly know what has gotten into me." She was more relaxed now, guiding the stallion to her childhood home almost methodically. She hardly had to think at all about which way to go, though it had been ages since she'd come home.

"Yes I wish Nocturne happiness," she said, her voice faraway as her mind wandered. It was not so strained, though she seemed distracted. She glanced towards Galahad as he spoke of age. "Yes... I suppose we are of that age...." Her words were reluctant to leave her mouth, as if she were afraid by admitting she were an adult she would have to let go of her childhood forever and she felt suddenly very afraid of becoming an adult. She shook the thought away. What nonsense! She WAS an adult! And was she not just getting upset over Nocturne finding a mate already? "My sister, Nona, she has found a mate. I don't believe you ever met her. I was always sneaking off alone." She couldn't help a chuckle at the memories. "I miss her sometimes. She left home before I did, traveling with her stallion. I do hope they are well."

She paused for a moment, glancing about. "It's just through there," she said, gesturing towards what looked to be a dark tunnel paved through the trees. It was clearly a well-used path that lead into darkness. "That is my father's grove. He spends much of his time there and I'm almost certain to find him there." She found herself lingering, not sure what to say to Galahad. She didn't want to leave his company, but she knew it was important to speak with her father and garner his advice. "I will go alone to my father. I thank you Galahad, for all you have done for me today. I... I wish to see you again. I hope you linger in the area long enough to bump into each other again." She smiled at him as she took a few steps towards the grove.

Galahad walked beside his friend, listening to her words as she spoke. He still wasn't entirely sure what to say, or what was pertinent to bring up. So much time had passed between them that it was almost as if he was once again coming to know Nita. He would have to do the same with Nocturne as well . . . at least as soon as he found him.

Even though their meeting had ended a bit awkwardly, Galahad was very glad that he had rekindled a friendship with the flutter. He had never forgotten of her, or Nocturne, but he realized now that time had caused their memory to blur. . . There were details he had misplaced due to his distance, but he was grateful that Kaiya had encouraged him to return home. He could seek her out again if he wished, but right now, he was just glad to finally be home. To rekindle old friendships, to stir up those old memories and to cherish the closeness of his family.

"I suppose you don't need ot know or really find a reason for your sudden . . . upset . . . " He chose the word carefully, his voice softening so as not to cause her embarrassment. "I just hope that you can find guidance with your father, or at least a little peace. I don't know if I have the stamina to keep up the hunt! You're far too swift for an old man like me," he teased gently, hoping to lighten the mood before they would part ways.

He was technically older than both she and Nocturne. It wasn't by much, but enough that he could tease her about his age. Giving a small nod, Galahad contemplated his own life. Her sister had already left with a stallion . .. and now it appeared Nocturne was rather smitten with someone. The unicorn had never felt such a drive or passion for anyone, but then again, his only companion for many years had been his mentor. . .and while he loved her, it wasn't that sort of feeling.

Part of Galahad wondered if Nita had ever experienced such passion . . . but . . .it wasn't his place to ask, and he wasn't about to pry. She had obvious feelings for Nocturne, but he still wanted to know if perhaps their own friendship had grown complicated. He'd have to ask Nocturne about it. . .tactfully, mind . . . "I'm glad that your sister has, hopefully, found happiness and joy in another. If you miss her though, perhaps . . . perhaps you might seek her out? Leave the hills and travel for a time? It's a beautiful world out there. . . ." But it could get awful lonely.

As Nita began to take her leave, the pale stallion dipped his head. "Fare thee well, m'lady. . .If you desire to see me, I'll be around. Likely for quite some time. I have no intention of leaving so soon, and I do look forward to when we might cross paths again. It's good to see you, Nita. . . ." Truly, truly it was.
