I myself am not 100% certain. He might help Allen against the Earl yes, but he also might use Allen for his own means once that is done! It's a hard-to-read situation.

What I'm wondering is why didn't the 14th appear sooner in Allen or was he waiting untill Allen got older?
He had plenty of time to take control of Allen and use him so why now?
I have alot of questions about the 14th and sadly the only character who can answer that dissapeared.

Well the 14th is a noah and Allen's Innocence is in his body, maybe he couldn't take over Allen's body right away because of that.

thats a good point look what happened to allen when he stabbed him self with his sword it shouldn't have hurt him, but it did maybe as he gets older it's easyer for him to take over, or since he appered wait the piano is'nt that where it started he's been using the 14th power more thats why it must be afecting him more, thats my newest theory at least

from what i'v heard the new chapter will explain or revile a few things about the 14th oh and remember the chapter where allen was having the dream about mana i bet you what he was calling allen was his brothers name what do you think

One thing that is really bugging me about most of these answers is the fact that people continue to say that the 14th is using Allen or might help Allen. The 14th is Allen. Just like all of the other Noah are reincarnated in different bodies, so has the 14th. It's just that the 14th's memories haven't woken within Allen yet. But yes, I would like to see how this plays out. I want to see if Allen's powers are going to continue to advance and how they are going to advance. I want to know the backstory as to why the 14th, a Noah following the Earl, decided that he had to kill the Earl. I also want to see what Central is going to do.
I also wonder if anyone is going to have to take Allen up on his request to be killed if he betrays the Order because of the manifestation of the 14th's memories within him. I saw that he almost lost it when he and Kanda were fighting the level 4 Akuma, but Kanda snapped him out of it. I get the feeling it's going to involve Lenalee because that is looking like the author is hinting at that becoming canon. Personally, I hope it doesn't become canon. Canon relationships tend to ruin things for me.

Well I can't say much there, but If by going under the logic then why did allen have an innocence if he is a Noah? You would think that the innocence wouldn't choose someone who is a noah. Kinda of an oximoron.

You can never really know about these things until they finally clear themselves up, even then it is confusing, I for one think since the 14th was reincarnated as Allen... The 14th might only use Allen in whatever way helps him out the most. Wither that means attacking the Noah and Earl, or attacking the Order itself I have no idea. We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

Despite the fact that the Innocence supposedly chose Allen, the fact that Hevlaska made the prophecy that Allen would be the defeater of time also points to his being the 14th, seeing as the 14th is the one who has set himself to killing the Earl. Also, just like all of the other Noah who had been reincarnated, the memories within Allen are awakening gradually. When Allen was battling the level 4 Akuma and he summoned the Crown Clown to him and it stabbed the both of them, it did damage to himself as well despite the fact that the Crown Clown is only supposed to affect Noah and Akuma.
Who knows, maybe Allen is a halfie. Only time will tell.

Eijay I agree. I don't know quite what to think about the 14th yet but I feel so bad for Allen. Poor kid has it so rough. crying
I feel exactly the same way!! As much as I don't know about the 14th, the fact that Allen has so much to deal with now makes me frown. sad Hopefully the 14th won't cause too much trouble and we find out more about him soon.
