Dad's a nuclear engineer. They got bored one day because his whole floor of engineers finished their project, so they had a potato cannon making contest.
Dad made one that can shoot roughly 300-500 feet depending on the fuel.
He tried to shoot down birds with it, but that failed...
He did take out the top branches of a huge pine tree, though

He brought the cannon home.
It doesn't look very impressive. Its made of pipes and duct tape.
Fueled by mom's hair spray
xD
One day he forgot to put the potato in the cannon, and flames shot out the end
It was awesome!
