I loved when the tigers broke free. It should have been in the cd for sure. The movie definetely made everything in the album make more sense, i like to watch the trial. so good...mmhmm

I also like the new version of empty spaces, (Backs to the wall, was it?)
Gerald Scarfe and co. definetly got creative with the animations. Some people just have a difficult time because the movie jumps around so much, between past and present, buzzed and sober, thought and reality. What moved me the most was during one of my turns, when Pink is on the edge and about to trash the hotel room, a faint smile appears on his face, and the single tear rolls down his cheek. Then the pent up emotion explodes. That REALLY hit close to home. Save for the drugs and fame, I've totally been there. Moving between violent and catatonic, with terrible nightmares and flashbacks. It misses out on the humor of life though. As bad as things get, there is usually something for me to laugh about.

Gerry Scarfe was a bit obsessed with vaginas if you ask me though. I think he could have chosen a less obscene metahpor so I don't feel so embarrased to show the movie to my friends.

I love the movie it's very good. I wish "What Shall we Do now?" was on the cd that is a really good song. The animation is great Bob is a great actor. All the scenes help you understand the cd more. And can make people Floyd fans. cool

I believe "Backs to the Wall" is on the live version. (Is There Anybody Out There?)
But it is dissapointing that it wasn't around for the original CD.

I think the vaginas make perfect sense. It helps establish Pink's inability to cope with his wife's femininity and his mother's overberring personality. It's another part of his life that is just "swallowing" him up. It brings out his fear of sexual relations. The idea that it starts out as a sweet flower and turns into this grotesque monster is such a unique thing. It also harkens back to the works of Georgia O'Keefe. Instead of being embarassed you could try talking about the artistic power of the peice with your friends, it can be every empowering smile

Welp "The Wall" was roger waters brilliance and i think it put the album into visionary form. I loved the sequence of the rose morphing. I believe the Walls meaning has to do with his Roger's dad getting killed in the war and hes illustrating the demons of life. Also Roger went to boarding school which somewhat explains the whole "Another brick in the wall" to a point!

Its deep, meaningful, and beautiful.

There are some parts I can't watch, such as the part where he shaves and sort of cuts off his eyebrows and nipples, but thats because I'm just skiddish around stuff like that.

And I can't watch the porno parts either. Lol.

But I love the other parts, especially the animations.

It's definetly within my top 3 movies. Roger Waters actually makes a cameo in it too.

Here is some questions-
1.What is the wall?
2.what scenes of pink doing certain things represent what band members?

The Wall is a huge idea of pretty much a virtual wall that is put up between people when certain things happen. For example, when Roger Waters spit on one of his fans faces, he decided that a wall was put up between him and his fans. And in the movie, it was Pinky and how he was so off and different from the world because there was a wall between himself and everyone else.
And in one scene, he shaves off all his body hair, which is something that Syd Barrett did. Also, they were both insane. There were many more things, but I don't feel like typing them.
By the way, does anyone think my avatar is like the part in the movie, during "Another Brick in the Wall" and "The Happiest Days of Our Lives", where all the kids are walking in a line, singing and then they turn into hot dogs? xD

My favorite The Wall animation sequences are (all of them, but most favorite) the bleeding British Flag turning into a red cross, and, of course, the marching hammers. I loved the eagles, too, but the hammers and the cross just gave me that giddy inspirational feeling.

The flag/hammers/cross part was one of my favorites, too. It's so amazingly cool. I love that movie so dearly. Gawd, it was good.
