((Sorry. It must have been a typo. Slytherin will not lose points. I don't like to take points willy-nilly.)) "Good, 5 points to Gryffindor. Now, I will demonstrate what to do during an Acromantula attack. First thing to do: Get it away from yourself. To do this, use Aurania Exumai or Impedimenta. Step Two: Keep it away from yourself. For this cast Incendio on the ground between you and the Acromantula. Then, keep up the Incendio till you are far enough away. And that's all there is to it." He walked to the cage and banged on it. The Acromantula woke with a start and started thrashing around the cage. He beckoned Persephone to back away, and pointed his wand at the cage.

Persephone was suddenly nervous, and wished Marduke was still here. She didn't like being the only student around to face this thing. But, she reminded herself, the teacher was right there, and he knew what he was doing. She pulled out her wand, and held it out, ready to cast the spells. She braced herself, being careful not to show her fear. The acromantulas would be able to sense it, and they would take advantage.

"I will demonstrate, then it will be your turn." said Alastar. He muttered, "Alohamora!" under his breath and the cage burst open. The giant spider shot out of the cage and lunged at Alastar. He pointed his wand and yelled, "Aurania Exumai!" and the spider shot backwards. He pointed his wand at the ground and yelled, "Incendio!" and flames shot up between them. He walked forward and the spider scuttled backwards in fear of the flame. He backed it into the cage and with a swing of his wand, shut it again. He turned to Persephone and said, "You're turn. Do not be afraid. I won't let it hurt you." He walked around to the back of the cage so that the Acromantula would see Persephone first. "Are you ready?"

Sephie took a deep breath and nodded at the professor. It hadn't seemed too hard when he did it, but she remembered that this was a relatively small acromantula. She gripped her wand and aimed it at the spider, completely focused.

"Very well." He tapped the cage with his wand and it opened. The gigantic spider the crept out. ((You can control the acromantula now.))

The spider crept slowly at first, looking around for the professor. When it caught sight of Persephone, it darted towards her, pincers clapping. "Aurania Exumai!" Persephone yelled, and the spell shot from her wand and hit the spider on the side. It didn't completely knock it back, but the acromantula faltered for a moment. "Incindio!" Sephie yelled once she saw the spider weaken. She had forgotten to aim at the ground, however, and the acromantula caught fire, writhing on the ground.

Alastar took his wand and pointed it at the Acromantula, sweeped it around, and drew it back to him. The Acromantula was doused with water, fire sprange from the grass around it, and the Acromantula was farced back into the cage. "Well, nice work. 20 points to Gryffindor. I can understand that it's hard to remember what to do while you are being attacked, so I think it's safe to say you did well."

"Sorry about setting it on fire, Professor...i didn't mean to hurt it...though i guess if i was facing that thing in real life, it wouldn't really matter." Persephone bit her lip, feeling bad about setting it on fire. The spider was apparently fine though, because it was scuttling about its cage, ready to attack anyone at a moment's notice. "I need to practice the aurania exumai spell as well..." she muttered to herself.

"Well, I think that that's enough for today. If you see Marduke, tell her I'd like to see her in my hut. and feel free to take a cae over there," he pointed to a bunh of small cages by his hut, "And take a spider to practice with." he pointed to a larger cage with a large amount of spiders in it.

At first Persephone was hesitant to take a spider back to her dorm with her, but she quickly realized that it would be a good idea. She needed practice, and there wasn't enough class time to keep doing it over and over again with the professor. She grabbed one of the cages and walked over to the larger cage with the spiders. She thought immobulus! in her head, and the spell shot out of her wand, making all the spiders sit completely still. She opened the cage and picked one of the larger ones out, then put it in her own cage. "Thank you, Professor. I'll let Marduke know next time I see her." She grabbed her bag and began walking up the hill. "See you next class!" she called to the kind old man.

"Have a nice day!" he called back. He turned and and started the long task of dragging the acromantula back to the forest.
