Astarteth made a soft crooning noise and leaned into the scratch. It really was her favorite itchy spot. Her eyes slowed and she lowered her inner lids as she relaxed and settled more comfortably. She really did like a person who appreciated how simply gorgeous she was and how she was the best green ever.
There and back again. A runner's tale. Kallista mused to herself. She really hadn't stopped running since coming to Ista, only taken it in a different direction. And most of it seemed to head right back to her green. Grabbing clothe and the flowery smelling oil Astar loved so much, she jogged back to see Rom and Astar both in the same spot.
"There we go, my green beauty. You got itched and I got your oil. Now, don't move and I can start working on your hide." She moved to her dragon and climbed up the other side. Looking down at the candidate, she gave a nod. "Thank you for keeping her company. She is a glutton for attention."

Rom smiled as the dragon leaned into the scratching, shifting a little so she could better reach and sooth Astarteth's itch. She smiled, giving the dragon one last itch and pat nodding to Kalli. "It was no problem. Now, how does this work?" She questioned, walking over to Kallista to watch her oil the green.

Oooohhh... She has the perfect spot. Tell her not to stop. Astarteth spoke to her rider. When Rom stopped, she turned to look at her rider with whirling blue eyes of contentment. Did you get the sweet smelling stuff?
"Astar, I know which oil is your favorite. She says you were scratching the perfect spot and doesn't want you to stop. But, if you don't then I am sure your fingers will fall off before she decides you are done."
Tossing a rag at the girl, she gave a slight grin. It was nice and kind of weird to be bossing around or acting like an authority figure towards other people. She wondered how the others managed to make it seem so natural. "It's pretty simple. You take the rag, dip it in oil, pick a spot and start rubbing it in. Dry hide can make for dangerous travel between.

Rom chuckled, petting the dragon's hide. "Now, if I keep scratching you I can't oil you now can I?" Astarteth reminded her slightly of a rather insistent intelligent runner who always wanted to be scratched but with out the bad habit of leaning. Since the stud outweighed her, tough love had to be applied… and her cousin wondered why she could pin him.
“Mmm,” she dipped the rag and started rubbing it into the hide. “Sort of like rubbing oil into riding tack,” but the creature was living and breathing, and had such a gorgeous green shade. “How is it dangerous when blinking between? Can the cold crack the dry spots?” She questioned.

"Yes and yes. Cracked or dry hide can be very dangerous, causing injury to the dragon. It's like going between when you have a cold. It's stupid and not something you should do." Kallista answered the best she could. Since riders took care of their dragons, she couldn't exactly recall how bad the damage could be but remembered something... "If it's on the wing, it could harm the membrane and cause permanent damage."
Astarteth in the meanwhile was simply basking in all the attention. How could anyone not pay attention to her when she was obviously the brightest and cleverest of all the greens?

"It makes sense." She jotted it down in her mind, adding a notice to tell her cousin. Brishen would be foolish enough to go between when he was ill. He could be so stubborn at times. She moved up farther, idly giving Astarteth scratches. "Pay special attention to the wings. This knowledge also applies to flits?" She muttered the question. It had to but best to make certain.
