Lintra This is actually Maril's idea to try and spread things to the threads. Basically, in SITE FEED BACK THREAD someone was under the mistaken impression that plot was just "manga" updates. Now, I think we need to educate new users what it means to be here for a plot. Why do I get the feeling that you're referring to my post HERE? If so, I wasn't confusing manga and news updates with "real" plot, I was pointing out the fact that no real story development had taken place here in Gaia since long before I arrived! I pointed out the fact that the last manga update was back in what, '07? as a symptom of the overall problem here. As a 3 year veteran of Final Fantasy 11, I know what real plot is, having joined not long before Treasures of Aht Urghan was released, and am looking forward to eventually picking up the web-only mini-expansion packs once I have the money to do so. But you see my point, I hope--World of Warcraft and FF11 have released new content in the last two years, why can't Gaia? (Yeah, sure, FF11 and WoW are "pay-for-play" whereas GO is mostly free, but still...) I certainly didn't join Gaia for the flashy new interfaces, I joined because there seemed at first glance to be quite a bit to do here besides join chatrooms and gossip, and I often wonder whether or not the developers are actually paying attention to our suggestions for items and features, let alone any new stories. (Yes, I know they can't give us individual feedback along the lines of "Hey, so-and-so, I loved your suggestion for whatever-it-is, and I wanted to let you know that I'm working on it right now", but having developers drop in every couple of weeks or even just once a month and share "sneak previews" of things in development would be nice...) As far as plots go, well... I seriously considered developing one of my own just for something to do that would be halfway fun for anyone who wanted to join in (hint: Humans versus Vampires game), and maybe see if I and the other interested players here couldn't talk the PTBs into going along with it by giving out already existing items to people who joined in the fun just for something to do besides the "same old same old." Come to think of it, I like the idea of player-created plots worked into a larger metaplot within the fictional world of Gaia, and wonder if we shouldn't start a petition to persuade the designers to let us create our own plots (or at least subplots) in addition to the "official" ones created by them. Any feedback, folks?

Kitirena Maril I've been pimping the labtech journals from 2004 for a bit now, as it was an awesome plot that allowed everyone who cared enough to look to get involved while still being something manageable for the staff. I would prefer something more to the level of the Zurg plot, but this would be an excellent start. They did it with the labtechs in 2004, and the elftechs in 2005. They can do it with letters from the Zurg for 2009! xd Or just something new entirely. Anything that gives us an actual REAL plot update again >_o Why not both? (A return to an older plot or three as well as an entirely new one, I mean...) I had the beginnings of a crazy idea inspired by the thread about whether or not people want to be vampires and the U of WA's Zombies Versus Humans game, and if anyone likes the idea of a Gaia Humans vs. Vampires plot, tell me and I'll mention what I've got cooked up so far... I put forth an idea similar to this that nobody in the zOMG forums seems to pay attention to.
Zomgh'ies (Zom-GEESE) Imagine in zOMG, the temporary release of Gaia's Halloween-town will become available only once a year for several week. Every year there's a new type of threat attacking the town due to the rapid outbursts of DRKNRGY and G' hi, upsetting far-off clans or creating new monsters (Lycans, Fishfayses, and zomg'hies!). Users go to this designated area to pick a side and are released into ANOTHER section called the Durem Graveyard (where they would PvP battle each other). At first, everyone will start out as hr00mans, but soon a random enemy spawns and attacks you! If you win you get points towards a hr00man item, if you lose then automatically you'll gain the new event skin (if needed to turn normal, take the hr00man potion [zurg potion is preferred]) And if you can't get the hr00man items in zOMG, you can try for the forums (though they may require a TON of posting)!
The first enemy I thought up for this was some type of zombie that was not re-animated from some sort of virus, but by G' hi itself! Null crystals are spreading throughout the graveyard and infusing within the dead un-animated bodies below. They reanimate! Also, something is wrong here, their G' hi energy levels are dreadfully low and burns up very quickly. The zomg'hies get desperate for the energy source and begin to feed off of the other gaians G' hi to increase their own! After that absorption, the hr00man G' hi energy stuff becomes corrupt and similar to that of the zomg'hies, eventually they turn into one and crave the substance too! Labtech X decides to take advantage of this situation and hordes up on the little fella's, spreading the monsters all throughout gaia as a sign saying "I'M NOT DEAD YET GAMBINO, BWAHAHAHA!"
Now there are zomg'hies all over zOMG! with lowered levels according to their CL zones. They'll randomly spawn and sometimes swarm in random events.
When a user becomes a zomg'hi in zOMG, they temporarily lose a LOT of speed for the duration of the event (till they get normified).
The plot in this could be the studying of how G' hi affects dead bodies in neXus journals (Aha, not G-CORP), the effects of DRKNRGY and G' hi when used together, spreading of Null Crystals, possibility's for zOMG part 2 and things to make fanboys drool for (secret codes, messages, cameo's, etc.), New interactive NPC's showing their heads (neXus crew, zombie-pets, ect., these people would actually respond to the users), and an ACTUAL zombie-based manga.
Plus the mass of DRKNRGY could lead to another Zurg invasion in an attempt to save us!~

Back on focus from the shiny ideas folks.
What we're working on now is trying to get the developers to bring back actual plot- not create billions of mini plots- we can do stuff like that later.
I've brought this idea across in guild of a chatterbox demonstration with the heading "Pro PLot" - multiple posts same heading at the same time, each with the users reason for waiting plot back and running it for a half and hour. I'll start a thread up soon to get that organized.
We also need a suggestion thread on HOW to manage a large scale plot.
anywho! Thanks, its nice to see people getting into this.

err unfortunately doing anything in zOMG takes a hell of alot of scripts and art and if you know anything about either u can understand why the administration would look past this idea... if it is an rp they may allow it but as far as zOMG or even towns go... its a big no no... trust me when I say this I am an animator and have worked on virtual reality worlds before and they can be a pain

I believe those days where you go around posting stuff and hoping some staff member sees it is over...
Unless you try and make a thread that is actually worth looking at...
Make it seem interestingly weird, and such.
