KiriyamaKazuo Well most snakes eat mice so if you cant do it then maybe you shoudent get one. You could get a Gardner or Ribben snake cus they dont eat mice. Onley problem is most i've seen are pretty mean. Actuall that's not necessarily true... My friend and I went out looking for snakes and we cought this one. I took him home and kept him for three weeks and used him for a report in English so that I could keep him that long. He was soo sweet and he never bit me or anyone else. Not even once.... and he was a Garter snake... but I live in Oregon so maybe they're different tempered here.

From my expirence the wild one do tend to be nicer then the domestic ones.

I love snakes. My friend has one, or realy her brother does. Every time I go over I always ask her if I can see her. Shes the sweetest little thing. She wraps around my upper arm all the time, like thoes mettle arm wrap things from the middle east and africa. I cant think of what to call them. But she curls around my arm like that and then just kinda sits and watches the TV with us. She's never bitten anyone sept her rightful owner (my friends brother) but thats cuse he dosn't treat her right. My friend usualy looks after her. I think shes a kind of Python that dosn't get that big. I'm not shure.
O, lil_gene, it gets easyer to feed them after the first or second time. I mean, the first few times you feed a snake your constantly thinking, "Oh my gawd I'm killing this little mouse just to feed my pet." But then you realize that 1) if your pet dosn't eat them someone elses pet will and 2) if your pet dosn't eat them then he/she wont live. Its a trade off.

lil_gene cool...I want a snake to... wait i've never seen the feeding of a snake..only in the wild..is it the same?...or not? If it is the same or not. No. In this day and age most pet snakes are fed thawed prey. Though some do feed live, its reccomended against especially if your snake will eat thawed. Most pets also are captive bred and are alot more docile (depending on the breed razz ). Heck my corns have hardly any feeding response. I could play with mice for an hour and then handle my corn and they wouldnt try to bite me(DEFFINETLY not reccomended eek ) :p.

Aww, those are real sweethearts, Corn!
In either case, I've never gotten to handle a snake, but it is an experience I wish to try. My mother is a little jittery around snakes, spiders, anything. Me, I actually might try to own a snake -- something small and simple to care for, not a huge python. But it all depends on whether I am getting other pets too.

Snakes are cool but when you get over 300 of them over the course of the summer they get kind of annoying. I have to deal with rattlesnakes, bullsnakes, whipsnakes, garden snakes, green tree snakes, and the list goes on. So yah I have had enough encounters with them.
