kacisko Digi: yes, I was. I thought you'd be living somewhere else close to Boston like New Hampshire or Rhode Island or whatever the hell is within an hour of drive from Boston. Ah.

No wai! I spent a night in Plymouth like 2 days ago 0.o Stayed at the Gov. Bradford Motor Inn. Were you by any chance one of the group with the Jap cars that hung out across the street? That would be weird... And I'd argue that whether Boston is "different than any other city" depends a lot on what other cities you've been to. I grew up with the big cities being LA, Las Vegas, and Pheonix so I'm used to a different type of city.

You know, this opinion (or rather feeling - I'd more call it that) is based on real life experiences. It's rather based on tv/movie experiences. As for real life - I've been to Vegas, Phoenix and Chicago as far as US is concerned.

But yeah, if you've been to Pheonix or Las Vegas in the past 5 years (longer than that doesn't count because they've grown a lot) and you've been to older cities, you can see the differences all over the place. I know you have WAY older cities in Europe, but this is just within my own frame of reference. Like how Boston is all cobbled together: a mix of old buildings, new buildings, narrow streets, giant churches, historic landmarks etc. The cities I grew up around are all relatively new, with wide streets, lots of parking, and nothing but new buildings, new businesses, and most stores are parts of chains.

Plymouth is really boring when you live here, but I suppose it may be fun when visiting, but I wouldn't know. And Boston is a pretty small, clean, city so it does seem different from most cities in my opinion.

My brother, though, says if he were rich he'd have like 3 houses, with one in Plymouth.

Plymouth is very unexciting, but its in the center of some some pretty cool places you can travel to, like Boston, Cape Cod, Worcester, etc.

Provincetown out on Cape Cod was an... interesting, place to visit. My mom was with us, and she's very conservative. Sorta felt like strolling through Harlem with a klansman at times.

Provincetown is like the coolest place around. As long as gay people, or weird people don't bother you its really awesome. An artist colony actually lives there, and thats mostly what it is, however, a lot of gay people live there because the artists are very excepting. I was there a week or two ago, I bought some really awesome fudge. I want more. emo

Feeling like you have to have to babysit your own mother to keep her in check tends to make things a bit less fun than they could be.

Mondo Pain I grew up around the Boston area. I currently reside in southern New Hampshire. I just saw a list on yahoo that claims Boston is one of the ten best places in the USA to grow up. Having first hand experience with that, any comment?
