He wouldn't wait. They were growing very near. He could see where the trees stopped at least for a short while. Even in the downpour he could clearly smell the rotting flesh. There were mixed cheers and groans ringing in his ears. The ground all around his pit was a slick, muddy mess. It would make his task harder.
He stopped suddenly at the edge of the clearing. A single drop of rain slid into one lantern and extinguished it's light. How fitting that it was 'sei' that went out.
Golden eyes narrowed and he turned to face his prey entirely. The act had been abandoned. Now it was time for business. It would be dangerous to attack her out in the open where the rain fell freely. "Thank you..." He said with a positively devilish smirk on his crimson lips. The look in his eyes was far from wild and insane, rather he looked quite calm. What he was about to do, as much as he would deny it in this case, was nothing personal towards her. It was just work.

Terentia smiled before she saw the flames go out. She herself gave off a small light from her ribbon, her snow white skin also gave off a small glimmer not enough to light her path but enough to make her noticeable. She looked at him, he had soon stopped. Taking a step forward she came to what seemed to be the ditch, she smelled something... something foul.
Taking a look over the edge she paused for a moment looking in the deep whole which seemed to stretch down to hell itself. She blinked and squinted why was the smell so bad? she wondered before turning to look at him.
"Y-you want me to go down there?"
She asked gulping. She did not want to go down there. However it was because of a good reason she would! Just to make someone else happy.

His eyes narrowed further as she approached the edge of the almost circular pit. He didn't imagine she could see the decaying corpses that lined the bottom of it. Even when he brought his lanterns to the edge when lit it was difficult to make out much of anything. He himself had never even seen the bottom after sunset.
"Yes..."He practically whispered stepping up to her side. He eyed her wings with a frown. It would be difficult but it needed to be done. With wings she would be able to achieve flight. With those feathers she could escape and that would mean failure. He wouldn't stand for that.
Without taking more than a second to plan he lunged to grab one of the feathered appendages in his jaws. Cries of 'cripple her' and 'break her' blended with encouraging cheers in his ears. Hisoka stood over a head taller than an average stallion and he used his large size to his full advantage.

Terentia's eyes kept looking into the deep abyss. For a moment all was still and time seemed to be ticking away slower. Minuets became hours in her mind and each breathe seemed to break longer before her lungs would press out the air. Water trickled down her nose. She was surprised this place would not flood. She took a deep breathe in spreading her wings to let her fly down but then she felt one of them get tugged. She gasped.
Her eyes went to the side feeling something dig in deep as she screamed. Flinching and pulling to get it away from him. He was much taller than she was. Much heavier too.
"Let go!"
She commanded him her other three wings flapping violently as the struggle continued. It was hard to keep grip though with all the mud around. Her heart beat in her throat.
For the first time. She feared for her life.

Hisoka grunted in effort as the mare began to struggle. He had imagined that she would put up a fight, there were few that didn't, but being beaten in the face by another's wings was not a feeling that he had been prepared for. Determined to complete his task he tightened the grip he held her with.
Viciously he turned his head to one side as he stepped backwards to get away from the deep hole. The rain pelted against him soaking the hairs of his coat and pelt. Seeing was growing increasingly difficult for the stallion as his dark forelocks fell before his eyes and clung. He took in a few deep breaths. Then he shifted his weight and clamped down harder on the mare's wing while simultaneously bringing his head towards the ground.
It was his intent to snap the fragile bone in her wing and blind her with pain.

"Galahad! Galahad!"
She called. Normal children would call for there mothers in times of need. Terentia however would prefer her brother to come and save her, even though she knew there was no chance of her voice reaching him, she called anyway. Instinct or blind hope she was not too sure. She knew with him... she would be safe
She continued to struggle as much as she could. After all that training she had never seen real danger... now it seemed that her lack of experience was going to make this almost impossible for her. She continued to try and beat him around the head with her other wings.
She felt herself go down to her knees. Her wings bending more than it had ever done before as she shrieked in pain feeling it go tighter and tighter until she felt something snap. The pain went through her body and she screamed something that could be heard for miles, something that would sure shatter glass.
She panted and looked at him with gritted teeth, her wing was bleeding but was able to bend completely because half of it was no longer connected by bone just by fragile skin. She pushed up to try and hit him with her head.

Though the voices cheered at the sound of breaking Hisoka did not smile. There was no joy in his expression. There was nothing 'happy' about this. It never felt 'good' to hurt another. It didn't feel like anything to the stallion. It was just business.
He released the bloody mess that he had made and found the mare looking at her. It was a look he had seen many times before but he didn't receive even a second to think about the others that had cast it his way. He hadn't been prepared for her retaliation as he should have been. as a result he found himself stepping backwards to avoid the hit rather than countering the attack.
His eyes widened slightly as his foot lost purchase in the fresh mud. The 'fox' didn't fall but wasted precious moments reclaiming his lost footing. The complaints and shouts for him to take action drowned out the roar of the storm in the white stallion's ears. He snarled at both the nosy voices and at the mare that was causing him problems. He had slowly begun to lose his calm.

Terenta looked at him gasping blood dripping down her side. She was shaking from fear but when she saw the creature loose balance she wasted no time. This could be her only chance for escape. The pain was making it hard for her to move but she has to fight it for her to survive. Gritting her teeth the mare pulled as hard as she could a few of her feathers flying from her tore limb. One leg after another followed as the game soon become a chase of cat and mouth. She was fleeing for her life in a strange dark forest and knew no way out what so ever.
All she could do is fun through the trees. Hope for some miracle. She was crying from the pain just running, jolting it made her want to lay down and just let him win, she had never felt pain like this before. Though she saw what he would do to her be much worse. She was scared for the first time she was in fear of death. She preyed in her head whilst she ran.
"Help!"
She repeated screaming louder and louder. Someone must hear her...

No! It wasn't possible. By the time he had straightened up the mare had practically vanished. He could still see her form amidst the trees but she was moving away from him quickly. He growled at the realization that breaking her legs before going for her wings would have been the better move. There was no time to worry about such things now, however, the rain was coming down just as hard as it was before and if he didn't catch her immediately then it would be too dangerous to proceed.
He charged through the trees with his eyes locked on to the bleeding mare. His laterns thudded against his side with every haphazardly placed step. His pelt and hair clung to his body unpleasantly and impared his vision. The voices shrieked at him for being so clumsy at such a critical moment and demanded that he redeem himself swiftly.
"No help here!" He bellowed into the dark hoping to scare her into making a mistake. He hooves pounded furiously against the soggy ground and he wove his way through the trees. He turned around the trunk of a great tree and before he knew what was happening he had crashed. His shoulder and head connected with the ancient tree just hard enough to stun him. His hooves slid out from beneath him and he fell to the ground.

Terentia looked behind her panting just in time to see the creature fall. She gulped and then realised she should be running, she looked at her wings and broke into a cold sweet this better work. She ran as fast as she could jumping over the male and running back towards the pit! Her blood staining his pure white pelt as she did. Making a few spots. One drop fell on one of his remaining lit lantern's turning out the faint light.
As she ran she found herself bouncing trying to glide with her two bottom wings. She kept hovering for a second before hitting the floor again. Moving faster and faster trying to gain flight. She took deep breathe after deep breathe. Blood dripping over and over. Making a both behind her which seemed to make a line with the one which was made as she was running from this place. It seemed off heading back. She was in pain though and she knew there, there was enough gap in the trees to give her a chance to fly away. After all if she kept running... he would catch her.
Soon she saw the gaping hole once again, this was it she was either going to fly now. Or fall. She closed her eyes and decided to take the leap of faith. With her hooves she jumped. Her wings spread and her heart in her throat. Time seemed to go slow.
"Goodbye."

The second he hit the ground he started to shift to be able to stand again. His movements were not nearly fast enough and before he could even get himself situated he found the mare racing towards him. His eyes went wide as he realized what she was going to do and quickly ducked his head to avoid getting kicked.
Once she had cleared his body he forced himself up. Mud flew in all directions as he shook himself off before taking chase once more. Hisoka couldn't figure out what she was trying to do. She had lost the wide gap she could have claimed by backtracking. His heart pounded in his chest as he forced himself to go fast. His crimson hooves dug into the soggy surface of the earth scattering the mare's bloody trail in his wake.
Not far ahead he could see the elliptical clearing that housed his hellish pit. His immediate thought was that she would turn and run around the edge of the circular trap. What she actually did, however, made his eyes go impossibly wide as an audible gasp escaped his open mouth. She had jumped straight over the mouth of hell.
He came to a skidding halt as he simple stared. Everything seemed silent, not even the voices spoke being every bit as stunned as their loyal worker.

Terentia spread her bottom wings out as wide as she could flapping them, her top ones dormant for once. Angeni has a few sets of wings. Everyone helped with flying some more than others. Even though her attempt was more of a glide with some random bursts upwards she soon started to see tree tops a sigh of relief escaping her mouth. The pain was echoing through her body... soon enough though. She found herself heading towards the mountains, where she could rest with out fear.
However in the air she was falling in and out of conciousness... The feeling of numbness through blood lost sinking in how the adrenalin was no longer needed.... before long she was falling. To the soft pure snows of her home.

"No!" It took the red marked stallion several moments to realize that the enraged voice he heard was his own. He stared up into the stormy sky and watched as his target vanished behind a curtain of falling rain. Once he could no longer see the mare he lowered his head the shock still clear on his face.
He had lost.
Displeased mutters filled his ears mixing with the ever present sound of rain. He simply couldn't believe it. He had been so close and she had slipped right through his net. Frustrated he kicked out at a nearby tree, scarring it permanantly before turning to the west. In disbelief he stumbled out of the forest. He needed to bathe and wash away his failure.
