EmrysTheBard Sinve this is for general discussion....does anyone here aside from me do numerology ? Also, I'd like to know what religions people are....I'm very interested in religon, and would like to know if it is through religion that you discovered astrology, or vica-versa, seeign as many older reliongs, such as my own, practice astrology. Well, I have a couple books on numerology, but I haven't done much. (Of course, I have a couple books about everything...Knitting, numerology, neuroscience...You name it.) As for my religion? I'm an atheist. My family was never very strict with religion--My dad, I think he's agnostic, and my mom, she believes in God but doesn't go to church. My mom is the one who introduced me to astrology and tarot and such. My grandma on my mother's side is a psychic (not a silly phone psychic, an actual one) and she's the one who taught my mom palmistry and astrology and all the stuff my mom taught me. I don't know half as much about any of it as my mom, grandma, great grandma, etc. do...But I'm learning... As for pie, I like apple.

RivenFaerieWings As for pie, I like apple. Quote: I like apple pie, too. heart I like the Mc Donald's one. But of course nothing beats homemade though. But can't get that ALL the time so have to settle for McD's.

I tried getting into Numerology, but I never sparked an interest. I'm a Catholic. Religion didn't get me interested in astrology. I think that was my dad's fault. smile

i was a Methodist for a long time, and i swear the guilt complex that it left me is nearly as bad as stereotypical Catholicism. for a long time, i thought that EVERYONE went to church on Sunday and that everything in the Bible was exactly true and so on. even though it took a while, and quite a few nights worrying that i'd be doomed to hell, i eventually realized i had too many fundamental disagreements with the church to ignore.
i'm pretty much generipagan, now.
PS apple pie + vanilla ice cream. heart

I'm agnostic. My family is basically agnostic, as in we've never practiced any religion or gone to church, and I really don't know much at all about what's in the bible. All the same, we live by basically Christian standards, and one side of my extended family is religious.
So I was an ignorant agnostic in childhood, but after studying philosophy, I think agnosticism makes most sense for me - I have no religious or atheist base to ground my reasoning on, so I really couldn't say either way whether there is or is not a God, and I certainly couldn't say which God to believe in if I did.
As a result, my interest in astrology did not stem from religion.

Is anybody here? It would be nice to get to know some of y'all better, or have someone teach me something. I know virtually nothing about astrology except that I'm an Aquarius.
