Trista grinned back at Mitsu, "Pleasure." She turned away then and obeyed the teacher by opening her book to the correct page, and started reading. She hadn't learned much history of the world while she went to school in France. She was muggle-born, so of course she heard about the world's history here and there; most current things from the newspapers and television. She had taken the class to find out everything that she had not learned in school or saw in the news. She figured that she'd learn a lot more here than if she went through her life without the class.

Miranda smiled at Melody, glad she wasn't getting in trouble. Internally she cursed though. She really hated history in muggle school. I hope this isn't too bad she thought to herself as she turned to page 345 as instructed.

Virginia had waved at Miranda as Melody greeted her. Ah. Reading. Reading was usually good.
She knew nothing about whatever the class was talking about.
She never interested herself with the wizard economy, let alone that of the muggles. Might be interesting, for all she knew.
Opening her book she began reading attentively, hoping she wouldn't start unfocussing any time soon.

Melody smiled as she watched them read, head turning to regard Marduke with a questioning gaze before grinning.
"Today's economy in the muggle world is in a resscession so yes the inflation is high as stocks are down. We will get to that soon. Now read the assigned pages Marduke love," She said warmly.
Melody often got scolded by other teachers for being to sweet.

"Now then, I'm sure you noticed as you read it talks about the Tine Lizzy, how did this play out with the booming of the economy?" Her question rang in the classroom, as she watched her students look up.
Mitsu shifted some in her seat, raising her hand and then lowering it when Melody looked at her.
"I...think its because of the fact that cars were in high demand and so factories sprang up and people were given jobs. this brought in money and soon enough the success from the industry created competition, and if I'm correct their economy is based on competition right?"
Melody smiled a bit and nodded. "You are correct in that yes he created a wide variety of jobs, but the economy was not just based on competion. Three points for getting mostly the right answer." She said grinning.
Mitsu looked a bit dishearted but cheered up pretty quickly enough.

Ginger raised her hand, "Professor, does the muggle economy work anywhere near like how our economy does?" She asked.

"In a way yes." she said smiling brightly. "Would you like to try and explain how their economy and our own work?" She asked gently, eyes shimmering with that mysterious glow.

Ginger turned red, she hadn't expected that. She knew close to nothing about muggles, including their economy.
She listed all she knew, hoping it was correct to some degree. "Economy is related to the human activities involving production, distribution, exchange, and consumption of goods and services as a whole, range from engineering to management and business administration to applied science to finance. All kind of professions, occupations, economic agents or economic activities, contribute to the economy. The equilibrium of an economy depends on how much is spent, invested and saved." Here she fell silent, looking uncertainly at Melody.

Melody smiled softly to her and walked over, patting her on the head like she was a child.
"Very good Ginny. A lovely explantion. I hope you all took notes on what she said." she said looking to her class. "Five points to Slytherin." She said before walking away.

Mitsu smiled to Ginny and took down the notes, in fact she had taken down notes through the whole class, something that was odd with her. Of course it was for the mere fact she wanted to excel this year in every class, she grinned brightly as melody turned to them and took out her wand, creating a swirling smoke screen of white with an image of how the flow of money goes from the bank to the goverment and how it played into the stock command.

Ginger's mouth fell open as she discovered she actually had rambled about the correct answer /and/ had gained some points to boot. That was pretty brilliant. Happily taking down her own notes, she stared up at Melody as she explained about stocks.
It was hard to concentrate, and even harder to follow, but at least she tried.

Mitsu yawned, mind becoming muddled by an information overload. Melody noticed this and smiled, waving the screen away as she pulled out a stand that looked like an old time bank window and was looking at her students, as if pondering who would like to get up and roelplay a little.
"Now then since I figured by lecturing you and having you take down notes is one way to teach you young minds but I like to have fun so who wants to come up be the bank teller and help me with my muggle money and getting a stock?" She asked, looking around the room.

Mark raises his hand. "I'll give it a shot" he says. He enjoyed things that involved imagination, and this was a welcome break from other, nose-to-the-grindstone classes.

Melody smiled to him and grinned, motioning him to come down. "10 points for being the brave victim Mark." She said.
"Now then, before we begin let me explain how stocks are bought. Usually one can go to a company and ask for their bonds, or a share of them and then, they buy and sell as they see fit. Today we're going to be buiying stocks from the banks, profting from their funds. Now who wants to be the customer?" she asked, looking around the room.
"By doing this we can udnerstand more easily how stocks were traded and sold, and how many people became rich and why later that the ers became the roaring 20's! And why it is that at the time, the wizarding community experienced the an after shock of this."
