Tana narrowed his golden eyes wondering if she was mocking him. Nodding slowly, he got to his feet, " Well it is still a bit early in the afternoon, but I imagine we can find a few. Come along."
Padding down the trail, he headed towards the rockier area of the swamps. "One of the most important things to do is be silent. They can hear very well, and if you are loud, then they will run away long before you get to them."

Tahki frowned, "Silent?" She whispered and watched her brother. That was gonna be hard, but if it worked she would be.
Finally the blue white cub shook her head agreeing that she would be quiet.

Tana smiled as he crawled on his belly towards a rock. There was a small lizard sunning itself ontop of the stone. He laid his ears back as he crept forward, each movement slow and sure, his golden eyes locked on the lizard.
Wiggling his hips, he suddenly lunged, grabbing the lizard in his jaws and with a hard snap it was over, and he turned to look at his sister smug. "See? That is how it is done. You have to be slow and silent in order to catch them." Gulping his meal down, he paused to wash his face and paws.

With in seconds her brother did something she could not. Sure, the cub had caught mice before but that had been mostly a fluke. So there was an art to this hunting thing eh? A sadistic grin curled on the young cubs maw. Oh, this was going to be fun.
Now to find her own target.
The lion scanned the swamp for a brief moment, eyes looking for any lizard shape thing, when she spotted one resting on a tree trunk. Err, thats what it looked like it was doing.
The lion got low like her brother and started to crawl towards said lizard, her butt wiggled and she pounced. She got the lizard in her mouth, but also a bunch of tree bark.
"ICK!" She cried and started to spit and rub her tongue with her paw. The lizard fell to the swamp ground like a lifeless doll while Tahki frantically tried to get the taste of tree bark out of her mouth. A small puddle of blood began to encircle the lifeless lizards body.

Tana grunted as he scooped up the abandoned lizard lighting fast. Two crunches and the lizard was gone, while Tana licked his muzzle, "Rule two...never take your attention away from a kill or you will loose it." He should know since his first kill had been stolen much as he just stole hers.
"Now stop your spitting and hissing and try again." There was no mercy in his golden eyes as he watched her hysterics. She would never be a good hunter if she couldn't learn to ignore little things, like a nasty taste in her mouth.

Tahki just laughed, "You ate a lizard gross," She laughed again, though she had never tried a lizard. The lionesses favorite snack tended to be swamp mice. The tails were fun to slurp.
"This game is boring now. I'm gonna go back home now, see ya later Tana," She gave her brother a rub to the head and started off back to the dens. She was tired and just wanted the taste of dirt out of her mouth.
Tahki stopped and looked back over her shoulder. "Race you back if you want," She stuck her muddy tongue out at Tana and giggled, skipping back slowly giving her brother plenty of time to catch up.

"I have things to do other than be silly with you!" Never the less he chased after his sister when she stuck her tongue out at him. He would show her just cause she was bigger didn't mean she was better than him!
Nearing the den, however, he heard their mother calling them in. He sighed faintly as he headed back into their den. Momma had been more protective lately, not letting them get far from home.
"We will settle this later," he vowed nudging his sister but yawned curling up with her, sleep within seconds.
(FIN!)
