Morgan nodded as Shaun spoke about his lack of practice and then his muggle family. It was always interesting to her to hear about the lives of muggleborns. The redhead didn't grow up in an all wizard family and was technically half blood, but she had always lived in the magical world. She watched Shaun drag a hand through what looked like bed head. His offer to practice was one hard to resist. Morgan managed a half smile.

"Alright. I will get the equipment though." Without waiting for his response, she turned her broom in the direction of the equipment room. Landing lightly on her feet, she first went to the Slytherin changing room and easily located her beaters bat. Next she found the chest with the rest of the balls and wingardium leviosa'd it out onto the field. She called up to Shaun. "I am releasing it." Figuring that was plenty of warning, she undid the latch keeping a struggling bludger down. It shot off into the air and Morgan jumped onto her Thunderbolt to follow it.

Shaun grinned as Morgan agreed to practice with him. He was glad she wasn't angry about almost getting hit right in the face with the quaffle. He flew around in lazy circles as she entered the changing room and then the shed with the chest containing the bludgers and snitch. He heard her warning and straightened his broom out watching for the black blur that could mean a broken arm, concussion, or worse. The bludger shot out of the chest and sped toward Shaun. He moved his broomstick to the left and heard the sharp whistle of the speeding ball shoot past him, followed shortly after by Morgan.

He took off toward the goal posts to attempt to make a goal before the bludger managed to turn around and make its way toward him again. He glanced over his shoulder to make sure Morgan had the bludger under control--of course she did--and took his shot. Shaun hung in the air for a moment and watched the quaffle. He took off just in time, as the bludger passed the spot where he was just a moment before. He recovered the ball and smiled up at Morgan. "Ten points to Gryffindor," he shouted, so she could hear him.

Morgan caught up with the bludger after Shaun had already taken off towards the goal posts. The bewitched ball curved high in the air and made to attack Shaun. Swinging her bat as the bludger came into range, the Slytherin sent the ball flying away from Shaun. As tempting as it was to hit the bludger towards the Gryffindor as revenge for a near quaffle to the face, Morgan kept herself between the Chaser and the bludger. She heard Shaun shout victoriously in the distance. The Beater shook her head, braids whipping in the wind. "What good are points in a practice such as this?"

Still, the boy's enthusiasm was nice. The bludger began its decent back towards the players. Morgan readied herself to defend against it. The ball swerved at the last second and curved in the air to head straight for Shaun. "Be prepared!", Morgan shouted at Shaun as she turned her broom sharply to chase down the bludger.

Shaun laughed as Morgan shook her head at him. He was having fun, and he suspected she was too. It was hard not to have a great time playing Quidditch. Shaun retrieved the quaffle and flew back up to a suitable height, before he heard Morgan shout to him. He turned around just in time to see a bludger headed right toward him. Shaun's mouth opened in an o for a moment before he ducked and the bludger flew right over him. He took off in the opposite direction, passing Morgan as she chased the ball. The bludger dodged her once more and flew underneath her in an arc.

Shaun glanced back over his shoulder and saw that the bludger had stopped chasing him and seemed to have set its sights on Morgan. It had circled under her and flown straight up in the air before stopping and hanging in place for a moment. After its pause, it shot down toward Morgan.

"Watch it!" Shaun yelled to the Slytherin, in case the bright sunlight was obscuring her vision.

Moira slowed as she reached the pitch, her Comet 260 tucked under her arm. Two players were already in the air. She watched them as they flew, the bludger nearly missing a player. They ducked gracefully as it missed. She thought she recognized the voice that yelled Watch it! as the it chose it's newest target. Squinting into the growing sunlight, she couldn't tell who it was. Moira's attention wavered, and she took a moment to take in the stadium. It never failed to send adrenaline coursing through her, just thinking about the game. Smiling broadly, Moira threw herself onto her broom and shot up to join the pair. "Room for one more?" she shouted as she raced towards them, mindful of the lose bludger.

Morgan's eyes never left the bludger. As it came back towards her, she readied her bat. She was squinting against the sun. It was still new in the sky so it wasn't bothering her as badly as it usually did. But come high noon and the Slytherin would be sticking to the shadows as best she could. Despite the sunlight, Morgan was able to land a hit to the bludger. With a 'crack' the ball collided with the end of her bat, spinning it off on an angle.

Moira was quickly flying up from the opposite direction. Morgan wasn't surprised to see her. With both their fathers in the broom business, it was quite common that they met in the air. "Good morning." the redhead said, with a polite smile. "Please, join us. Mind the bludger." The flying ball had already reversed it's course and was coming back towards the three students.

A loud crack drew Moira's attention to the Slytherin player in the air, Morgan. The red head called good morning and Moira beamed, her adrenaline pumping as the sun dripped golden light over the players and goal hoops. "Morning" she called back, smiling wider as she recognized the other player. "Hullo Shaun!" He was her fellow chaser for the Gryffindor team. He had the quaffle in one hand, not having a chance to release it. Moira moved towards him, keeping a wary eye on the bludger which had begun it's return trip towards the trio. "Heads!" she called as she dipped her broom down out of it's path.

Shaun glanced around as he heard a cheery voice call up towards himself and Morgan. He had been momentarily distracted, watching the bludger race toward Morgan, and didn't realize who the other player was until she was level with him in the air. "Ah, hello Moira!" he said, grinning. "How are you today?" He ducked his head as Moira warned about the incoming bludger. As soon as it whistled overhead, Shaun sat up straight. He glanced over his shoulder to make sure the bludger hadn't had time to right its course yet, and once he was sure it hadn't, he turned back toward the other two.

Once Shaun had made eye contact with Moira, he threw her the quaffle, and took off toward the goal posts at the other end of the pitch, past Morgan.

Now that greetings were out of the way, it seemed like their practice was back on. The bludger was righting itself and took aim at Morgan. Since she was now outnumbered by Gryffindors, she decided to give them a proper run for their money. As they raced towards the goal posts with the quaffle, the Slytherin made ready her bat. The bludger came within striking range and she swung the bat at it. It connected with a loud crack and was sent flying towards the back ends of the Chasers brooms.

Morgan was sure they'd heard her hit the bludger in their direction. If the loud 'thwack' hadn't reached their ears, the sound of the ball wizzing through the air surely would. The redhead urged her broom to follow them.

Moira grinned at Shaun as she rode back up to meet him evenly. "Perfect!" she shouted in answer to his query. As the quaffle soared towards her, Moira caught it in one hand and sped down the pitch. She gripped the ball tightly, in spite of the enchantment, she didn't want to lose it. The wind whipped Moira's hair around her face but she barely registered the distraction.

Catching up to Shaun, Moira heard the smack of Morgan's bat. She descended quickly, picking up speed even as she flew below Shaun's broom. "Watch out!" She shouted behind her, with no certainty of being heard. As she pulled ahead of the other Gryffindor, she held the quaffle aloft, gesturing for a pass. With the goals quickly approaching, she would position herself by the goals and wait for Shaun's pass. When she thought she had his attention, Moira threw the ball towards him.

Shaun grinned as Moira shouted her answer to him. That girl was always a pleasure to be around, especially on the Quidditch pitch. He loved flying, and was glad to be back in the air with two fellow Quidditch players. He glanced over his shoulder to make sure she caught the ball and then turned his gaze back in front of him. He was nearing the goal posts. He closed his eyes for a moment and allowed the wind to whip past his face. His grin widened. This was how he would spend all his time, if he could.

The loud thwack! from Morgan's bat caused him to open his eyes. The bludger would be soaring toward one of them now, and if it was coming for him, Shaun would want to be prepared to dodge it. Moira dove underneath Shaun, who glanced back to see the bludger rocketing after her. He sped up a bit, to keep pace with Moira, and raised an arm, signaling her that he was ready to catch the quaffle. She threw it to him, and he leaned slightly to the left to catch it. The bludger seemed to follow the quaffle's trajectory and changed direction toward Shaun.

Waiting until he was a bit closer to Moira, who had reached the goal posts, he tossed her the quaffle so she could make a goal. He threw the red ball to his Housemate, and glancing around for the bludger, moved himself to the right to avoid being hit by it from underneath.

The Quidditch Pitch was Cal's home away from home, his passion, his life. He was a dedicated Keeper, Gryffindor's main defender. He had fallen in love with the sport the very night his father brought him and his sister to their very first Quidditch match. He idolized Hermann Wiel, the Keeper for the German Nation Quidditch Team, and hoped to play with him one day.

Broom in hand, Calisto made his way onto the Quidditch Pitch. There seemed to be quite the amount of people on their already, but no Keeper. "Care for a Keeper?" he called up to them, Greek accent thick in his words. Without a second thought, Cal hopped up onto his broom, avoiding bludgers, and flying up to the goal posts where he planted his feet firmly within the stirrups of the broom he straddled. His breathtaking, charming, devilish grin crossed his face, something he always did when he was playing. The rush of it all excited him, it was when he was happiest.

Moira kept her eye on the ball as it sailed towards her. Shaun had a good arm, naturally. She used her own and powered the quaffle towards the goal. It went neatly through. Moira raised her arms above her head and let out a whoop of pleasure. Goal! She turned back to her Housemate, grinning ear to ear. Shaun moved to avoid the bludger and the ball coursed towards her. Bloody-

Thrusting down on her broom, Moira sent herself spiraling down to avoid the hit. The bludger connected with the end of the Comet 260 and turned the tight spiral into a messy loop. The bludger shot off into...somewhere... Moira squinted her eyes against the rushing air around her and saw no more. She pulled up on the broomstick, attempting to control her fall. The ground was rapidly approaching when finally she shot upwards, letting out another happy cry. Her eyes were finally open again and she shouted to Morgan happily, "Cripes! You've been working on that swing, you have!" To Shaun she called "You retrieve that! After all, I scored!"

Moira panted happily, keeping an eye out for the still loose bludger. Now, someone called from below and raced up to join them.

A little past eight, Tancred left the castle, munching on a piece of toast. It was dry. Like his personality. He normally wasn't up as early as this, even with classes going on, but he had had to get his sorry a** out of bed in order to finish off a paper. He was already beginning to regret it, and longed to crawl back into his bed and go back to sleep, even if he'd only get another hour or so. It would be worth it.

Yawning, he looked over towards the quidditch pitch, seeing a few shapes flying around. It struck him as odd, since he didn't think there was a match, and to his knowledge, the house teams didn't practice this early. He knew that Morgan occasionally went to the quidditch pitch in the mornings, and that was totally not the reason why he started walking over there. Nope. Not at all.

Brushing some of the toast crumbs off his fingers and clothing, he walked through the archway to the stairs. He wasn't fond of having to walk up stairs. Or walking at all, really. But it was worth it. Sort of. Once he was up the stairs, he sauntered over towards the middle of the stands, occasionally glancing over to see what was going on. He didn't really understand quidditch, didn't want to. He avoided the games if he could, occasionally going to watch the girls play. There was just nothing exciting about watching people fly around on sticks so they could get balls through a hoop. Leaning up against the railing, he watched their little game, trying to figure out what exactly was going on.

Morgan kept her distance as she watched the chasers do their jobs, yet close enough to be sure of the bludger. It was doing a lovely job of bothering the Gryffindors. Shaun had narrowly avoided it while Moira cheered her score. The girl's joy was short lived, as the bludger was now after her. Morgan watched, a bit apprehensively, as Moira was knocked out of the air. "Oops..." Luckily for them both, the chaser recovered out of her fall and regained her good spirits. Morgan grinned at the other redhead when she called out to her.

Another voice called out then, and was followed by the appearance of yet another Gryffindor. Morgan wasn't one for stereotypes or house rivalries, but she couldn't help feeling a bit annoyed. All these Gryffindors on the pitch would be working against her. She nodded at the keeper in way of greeting before shooting off towards where she thought the bludger had gotten to. As she circled a bit, the reflection from something white and shimmery caught her eye. Tancred's hair was catching the light just right as to be bothersome. Morgan ducked out of the way and flew down to where he was sitting.

"Good morning... I do not think I have ever seen you awake at this hour." She smirked at her housemate. He certainly looked tired and out of place. Yet perhaps his arrival could be advantageous. "I do not suppose you would help even the numbers?" Morgan motioned back at the little pack of Gryffindors. She wasn't sure she had ever seen Tancred near a broom, let alone on a pitch. But it didn't hurt to ask.
