"Oh no, no, no! That isn't for eating. That is for writing. This..." He held out the rest of the chocolate bar, "... is for eating." Shin took the paper ball from demon and set it aside, now worried that he would try eating some of the chemicals in the lab.

Kokuro held his mouth open briefly after the paper was taken away before leaning forward and reaching for more of the chocolate, already having acquired a taste for it. "Nn." His hearing was starting to pick up on more sounds from Shin's talking as he now tried to mimic the sound of the word 'no'.

Shin quickly starting writing down the demon's first sound. "I would rather not have your first word be no. How about your name. I need to give you a name." He paused for a moment while thinknig about a name. "How about... Kokuro? Can you say that? Ko... ku... ro, Kokuro."

His head tilted slightly to the left, then the right side, intensely watching Shin's lips as he spoke the name. He tried mouthing it out, slowly at first, only able to get 'ko' and 'ro' from them having rhymed with 'no'. He quickly tapped Shin's hand, wanting him to repeat it again.

"Ko... ku...ro. Kokuro. Take your time. I can repeat it as many times as you need." Shin scooted a little closer to Kokuro without realizing it. He really wanted to hear the demon say the name.

He mouthed it again as Shin said it slowly before attempting to put any sound to it; it being nearly a whisper to start out with, filled with plenty of pauses and stuttering. "Nn. Nnn.." He rocked forward and back quickly, having a hard time pronouncing the 'k'.

Shin made the 'k' sound a few times, hoping that would be enough to help him. "ko... ku... ro..." He repeated the name also, trying to be as patient as he possibly could with the demon.

"..Nnnk. Nnk." He started to isolate the sound he wanted until he had it. "K... K--ooo.. Ooo.. Koooo. Koo.. Ko. Ko. .....K--uuh.. Uu.. Ku." There was a longer pause for the last part as he remembered the sound of the 'r'. "Rrrr.. Rrrrrrr--ooo. ..Rrroo. Roo.. Ro." Once satisfied with how it sounded to himself, he put it all together for Shin. Ko... ku... ro..."

"Very good!" Shin exclaimed happily. He pointed towards Kokuro. "You're Kokuro...," He pointed back towards himself ."... I'm Shin."

Kokuro pointed to himself and repeated the name. "Ko.. ku.. ro. Koku--ro. Kokuro." He nodded quickly and started working on Shin's name right after, copying the sounds he had heard. "Sssss.. Sssshh. Ssshh.. Nn. Sshh--nnn." He didn't realize he was leaving out a letter.

Mikoto entered the lab, sliding her goggles over her eyes and heading to the incubation chamber where she had her demon creation. Humming softly to herself, she rounded the corner to see her fukutaichou and her demon on the floor.
Part of her wanted to kick her fuku in the back of the head, but it may startle the demon and trigger some kind of defense mechanism with it or something. So, she proceeded toward the two and sighed.
"Shin-kun," her voice came soothing, but stern. "You know you're in a bit of trouble, don't you?"

"Very close, Kokuro. Sh... in..., Shin." Shin was completely oblivious to his taichou entering the room until she spoke, which made him jump up onto his feet. "Hehe... Taichou! How nice to see you.... this early in the day." He greeted nervously while rubbing the back of his head trying to ignore the part about him being in trouble but he knew it was true, very true, painfully true. "But, but, look!" He grabbed his notepad and showed her his notes. "I took notes and everything." He darted back to Kokuro. "And see, no harm done. Kokuro-kun is just fine. He has ever started to talk."

Kokuro went to try saying Shin's name again but stopped as soon as he saw Mikoto, his eyes watching her and Shin, still attracted to any movement. He shrank down slightly at the mention of his name, recognizing it already as himself.

"You've named him?" Mikoto asked Shin with a raised eyebrow as she read over his notes, nodding at each note that was taken. "Not a bad name. I like it, but you know you're still in for it later. For now... let's get him clothed. Go into 2-B and look in S-1425. I'm sure there's something that will fit him."

"Of course I named him. I've grown... rather attached, I am ashamed to say." Shin replied with a fairly annoyed look, he didn't want to go get the clothes. Without saying more, Shin left the room, and went on his way to get the clothes for Kokuro.
