Victoria was petting the little mascot, Bozo while she was speaking. She tried not to take her elitist tone with the newcomer, for he must have been so frightened to learn they were unfamiliar Laguz rather than the boy's friends.

"You can't be getting back so easily. As far as I know, we can't return to our homelands. Of course, those of us in the FEF guild don't really want to..."

With that, she said no more, for otherwise, she'd be reminded as to why she didn't want to go back, that she had nothing to really return to.

User ImageThe cloaked cat laguz crossed her arms and hid them under the cloth. “Speak for yourself,” Lethe stated to the bishop. “If I could, I would return to Gallia in a heartbeat.” Being a newcomer to Learania as well, she doesn’t have much of an attachment to it or the FEF. Only Lyre would have the power to change her sister’s mind at this point. Even then the chances are slim.

Lyre's expression softened, and she looked down at her feet momentarily. Raising her head back up, she gave a sort of half-smile.

"That... well, she's right. No one has been able to get back to their homeland once they've ended up here... I've been here for... oh, I don't know, a year or more at least? The best you can do is just to try to make friends, if possible, and try to find a new place to fit in... I mean there are a ton of other people here from all sorts of times and places, there might even be someone else here from... Jugdral, did you call it?"

She crossed her arms in front of her, a mirror image in position to that of her sister. "I miss Gallia, too... but it's not too bad here... I've made friends..." She looked solely at her sister.

"Was there any sort of stir about the Hawk King Tibarn gone missing, back home? Because, well, he's here too, if you hadn't seen him already. He even up and married a Beorc woman, of all things, a woman named Ayra- can you believe that?" She spewed the gossip at her sister, again forgetting about Deitrich and Victoria for the moment.

User Image “Does that mean you have given up on that Ranulf crush of your’s?” Of course she was only joking with this question. Well... Sort of.

Lethe looked shocked for a few seconds at news. “The hawk king is alive? Rumors had spread back home about his disappearance. When all of the search parties came back empty handed... Many feared for the worse.” Shaking her head, she replied, “I find it hard to believe King Tibarn would take a beorc bride. There’s no way a beorc woman could attract someone like him.”

"What about Ranulf now? Why? Should I give up on him? I don't wanna give up on him-didhegetaGIRLFRIEND??? Ohpleasedon'tsayhedid!" It was quite apparent at the sudden feverish expression on Lyre's face that, no, she had not given up on her popular and quite exquisite blue-haired dream man. Cat. Laguz. Point being, it was no laughing matter.

She took a deep breath.
"W-well. A-anyway. Yes. The Hawk King is alive and well. And oh no, not only did he MARRY a beorc, he had a CHILD with her. I can't really say anything bad about the kid, I mean I've babysat her before and she's as spoiled as His Majesty's great grandchildren, but otherwise she's cute for being beorc. Tibarn's wife hates me though, like I think she wants to throw me out a window- but she's so much slower than me she couldn't catch me if she wanted to. Oh but she totally tried to poison me once. Or maybe more than once, I mean I try to avoid her because she hates me. For. Uh. Reasons." Lyre waved her hand around in the air, as if clearing away an offensive odor.

"But that Hawk King is a lech anyway, but you didn't hear it from me." Gossip mood was in full swing, and it was extremely reminiscent of the days back in Gallia whenever Lethe had rare time off from her militant duties... before Lyre had joined up to follow the love of her life, of course. And assist her sister. Maybe. But mainly for the love of her life. And Kyza was kind of secondary, but he WAS like her best friend so Lyre supposed he counted for something too. Not a lot, but something.

"OH. How's Kyza?" She tilted her head, as if having an afterthought.

User ImageLethe smiled at Lyre’s overreacting response when Ranulf was mentioned. “Well, if you stay here in Learania, there is a possibility that you won’t see him again.” The elder sister raised her shoulders slightly with her elbows bent 45 degrees upward and her palms flattened. “I don’t know. I haven’t been keeping tabs on his personal life. There are more important issues to worry about ...like training. Besides that is more of your thing.”

She once again lowered her arms to her side. “I am glad to hear the Hawk King is doing so well. I’m sure His Majesty would be pleased too,” For a brief moment her feline ears lowered as she was reminded of her unintentionally neglected duties to her ruler. Although no one would notice the movement under the hood. Letting out a soft sigh, Lethe tried to move that thought to the back of her mind. This was no time to be depressed.

Just then her expression livened up. “What’s this about the Hawk King’s wife hating you?” Her stern gaze honed on the other cat. “What did you do,” she asked in her normal harsh tone, refusing to let this topic die so quickly.

"W-what? Why would you think I did something? Leeeetthhheeee, I didn't do anything to her, she got all huffy and offended because I called her a Beorc, which she is!" Lyre crossed her arms in front of her, pouting.

"Besides, she started it. She tried to poison me when I was sick with some Beorc illness, which was really frightening I'll have you know and I was completely useless for like a week, and then I accidentally threw up on her but that was an accident! I was sick! She waved this noxious tea in my face and I couldn't help it..."

User Image“Past experiences, Lyre,” she responded. “Remember that time we went shopping and you insulted the owner who then kicked us out?”

“How dare she use deceitful tricks?! Only a beorc would use something as cowardly as poison in that situation!” Lethe clenches her fist. The laguz soldier would have loved to use the word human, because of the insulting meaning behind it, instead of beorc; however, she remembered the company around her.

"King Tibarn's taste in women seems to have turned for the worse," Lethe finally commented.

User ImageDietrich was floored by the name Ayra. Granted, it wasn't exactly an uncommon name, but it's the kind of name that sticks with a guy. The kind of name that means something is expected of you. That means you shouldn't be swinging an axe around and getting your butt kicked by archers.

"Shut up a second," he said quite suddenly, raising his hand to his head, taking a long deep breath. "So you two are saying you're not even from around here either, and you're also not from Jugdral..." He took a deep breath, then sighed, moving his hand down to cover his face. "Can you just take me somewhere where all this will make sense? Preferably to someone from Jugdral, since I can't seem to get anything coherent out of anyone else."

"That was NOT my fault and you know it, that shopkeep was just a fat overweight pompous bast-" Lyre stopped at the abrupt interruption "-excuse me?"

Lyre's expression was one of "oh yeeaahhhh, you're still standing there..." while turning her head to look at the boy.
"Someone from... Jugdral? I don't know if I know anyone from there." She tilted her head, placing a finger to her bottom lip.
"That's... not a place on Tellius or Magvel, or anywhere like Elibe, right?" Lyre knew of Tellius, obviously, coming from that world, but the only other places she had some remote knowledge of were Magvel, due to her best FEF friend Amelia, and Elibe, or something like that, from another friend, Alihi.

Judgral. Victoria couldn't say she ever heard of it, because well, she too was from Elibe. She hadn't remembered that little information sheet that she'd read about the crew either, for there were so many other things going on in a bishop's life. Learning new light spells, healing reckless idiots, and even seeing her companions were all higher on the list than remembering where the crewmembers were originally from, as now they were Learanian anyway.

Why did it matter?

But she did hear something that she'd confirmed through various sources. "Now... don't you know? The crewmember, Lady Ayra is a terrible cook." Victoria said to Lyre and Lethe, continuing the rumor mill that they'd started. "Some of them said she could be a cook on our enemy's sides, and they would surrender within an hour."

User Image"Wait, what!?"

Dietrich stared at Victoria for a moment, then looked to Lethe and Lyre, and then Bozo, and then back at Victoria, his mind suddenly racing to push away the fog of last night's booze. It couldn't be.

"Mommy," a young Dietrich had said, staring up at his mother's black hair as she stood at the stove. "Mommy? How come you never make cookies?"

Lakche had blinked and curiously looked down at her son. "Well, um... well, I don't have a recipe book for them. It never really occurred to me, your father likes pie better."

"But Arashe says his mom got a fam'ly recipe from his gran! Didn't Granny Ayra give you one?" He stepped back in alarm as his mother startled, nearly dropping the pan she was holding on the stove.

"Ah... sorry, Dietrich." She had turned off the stove and sighed. "Your grandmother was a great warrior and a good mother to me and your Uncle Skahaser. But she... was a terrible, terrible cook." The young axeman-to-be had sat and listened to his mother telling him of her experiences with her mother's attempts to cook.

So many horrible stories. And here they were... tea so poorly made it was suspected of poison, and...

"Granny Ayra," he murmured under his breath. "But she died at..." He shook his head. If this wasn't a dream, it was a sufficiently weird reality that he'd have to suspend disbelief as much as possible. "Can you take me to Lady Ayra? I think... I may know her. Where does she live?"

I was blessed with the gifts of the goddess, so show me respect!
It's not every day that you stumble across a rarity like me.

The bishop was wondering why this boy was calling one of the FEF crewmembers "granny." She only remembered Tibarn and his wife, the Trueblade Ayra having a daughter by the name of Vaherianslyeri. Then again, there were a lot of things that were left to be explained in Learania. Too many for her to make sense of even with the Goddess's gifts on her side.

"She's in that castle, up there." Victoria pointed into the distance towards Eyris Castle. "However, you might want to stick with us, after all, FEF protects their Order well. And then there's that new Castle Guard Captain..." Victoria shuttered as Vaida's angry visage appeared in her mind, and the bishop quickly had to think of something else before it stuck. "What I mean is, it would be best if you traveled with us to Eyris castle. I can make the Guards grant you audience with the crewmember, Ayra."

Ice starts runing through the building after assinating her target. She tears through the door leading to her escape route... and finds her self falling through the air *Thud* she hits a roof and slides slowly to the ground. she gets up slowly and staggers her way out of the alley and accidently bumps into a lady petting a rabbit "Oops, sorry about that" Ice says as she falls over.
