no seriously you cannot be really anti-conformist if you follow the trend. Most of the scene kiddies are follower.

Well, hello.
Wtf is non-conformist anyway? Being eccentric? Dressing alternatively? Listening to obscure music? All these things are just conforming in one way or another.
Seriously.
Non-conforming used to be about breaking free from the ideals and opression of society. Nowdays people do whatever the hell they want.
Everyone is conforming to something.
It's just a word.

It's just a word. I beleive the modern interpretation is to break the image of the stereotype surrounding your appearance and looks. Such as I am big 6'5'' metaller, with a leather jacket, black jeans and big a** boots. I'm one of the last people you'd expect to do things like help old ladies with their shopping and hold doors open for people. So ergo, I'm non conforming to the stereotype placed upon me, by being polite, yet I still class myself part of that group. Though yeah, I do agree, self proclaimed non-conformists are now conforming to the stereotypical view of the non-conformist, so in being non-conformist your conforming to the ideal of said non-conformism.
