Jayel yipped with him and moved over to tag his head, grinning as she darted away, looking back at him. "You're it!" She said, splashing through the river again. This female played tag, be it with herself or her siblings. She was never bored, honestly.
"C'mon, slow poke, c'mon!" She called out to him, taunting, teasing. She wanted him as a friend; wanted to be closer to him. Jayel could see herself being friends with him for a long, long time! Especially since she apparently made him very happy. And that's what the female strived for; making everyone around her happy and smile!

He stood there, uncertain but tail wagging, even as she touched his face with her muzzle and darted off. He looked dumbfounded, eyes wide, head tilted to one side. It wasn't until she called out to him that he caught on. Tag... Tag... He'd never played tag...
He mused to himself, wondering how fast his slow little body could go. Wondering if it was worth it, to go faster than a walk. But something stirred within him and he broke into a trot, going after her with a rising grin on his maw, eyes shining with happiness and forgetting about home for the very moment, just having fun.

As he broke out into a trot, Jayel's eyes lite up considerably before she took off again, though not as nimble as she could be. She wasn't even trying! This was good old fashion fun.
As the day went on, the two played tag together. Jayel found out the male was surprisingly fast, and she could turn on just he back legs. The air about the two was full of laughter and squeals and the occasional ouch as a tree smacked them, or one of them slid into a thorn bush. Eventually, the day drew to and end.
Jayel heard her mother calling for her as they were taking a much needed break and her ears fell a bit. "Well, looks like this day's up, huh?" She said to her new found friend, putting on a big smile.

By the time the day reached its end, Xavi's muscles burned and his body ached, but in a good way. He'd never been so active before in his life and this...Jayel was just the thing he needed. He flopped down next to her, nodding as she spoke. He cleared his throat a little, smile on his face. "Yeah... I bet Mom's wondering where I got off to, so far from home. I hope she's not worried soneone stole me..." He frowned then and got to his feet. His legs trembled but he tried not to let it show. "Thanks, Jay, for the games...and the swimming." He beamed. "I hope we'll meet again someday..."

She saw the trembling in his legs, but hers were the same way. With a flash of a grin, she nodded and moved over to lick at his cheek. "I think we will! It was so much fun!" She was still very much out of breath. Now she knew where she'd be waiting, in a couple of days. Jayel would be right back here, waiting for her new found friend!
With a slow walk, Jayel started off, making her way back home to her nice den. Sleep was definitely in order right now.
