While Elzo kept trying to remember his previous question, Marlo continued his conversation. "I don't think it's so much as they fight over something or for something, as the fight to establish themselves. The school is meant to strip us of our individuality and make us fit into the cake mold of society. Many, like both myself and Elzo, were kicked out of other boarding schools due to our outbursts of aggression, (well, mainly his). Hillworth is one of the few schools that accepts such students and as such, it is almost expected of its peers. Overall, I think the aggression is simply the only way that many have to express their feelings and thoughts." He shrugged. "Forgive me, I sometimes ramble."
Elzo slammed his fit onto his open palm. "I remember know! Hey Zachary, why are you going to Hillworth anyway? You don't look like a troublemaker."

Marlo's point seemed valid enough, and so even though Zachary did not agree with the method itself, he nodded, supposing that it made sense. Somewhat. After all, he still felt that it would be easier to distinguish oneself in ways that didn't involve physical violence. One did not have to make waves in order to be unique, especially in a place where everyone else was trying so hard to stand out. Zachary would already tell that his problem would be the inverse of everyone else's.
He tried not to react too harshly to Elzo's question, but his expression nevertheless darkened, turning his head away to try and concentrate on something less upsetting, like the current sale on junior tops. After a moment, however, he conceded with a sigh, looking down at his new uniform. "I, uhh....it's a long story. The short version is that I got shafted for something that I didn't do." Absent-mindedly, he picked some lint from the knitted vest he held over one arm. It was one of many changes he was adjusting to.

"...." Marlo raised a bit of a brow. "I take it you regret the situation and have a bit of a history prior to the events leading up to the expulsion?" He was also picking link for the vest, a bit absentmindedly. "Not with so much the disciplinary side, but, with the true..instigator?" He knew how that felt. Mainly just having people deal with him being mistaken for his brother from afar. Sometimes, Marlo thanked his luck stars they didn't look more alike. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I'm just curious."
"Man, that's got to suck." Elzo nodded his head as if he understood completely, (which he did not under any way, shape, or form). "Especially considering Hillworth and Meadowview are rivals. You'll have to be playing and going against your old buds. Man..." He flipped his clothes on a shoulder. "Why can't you just prove it wasn't you? Did the douche like, get some fake alibi?" Elzo, ever the sophisticate. Marlo rolled his eyes, before noticing that the two cashers were waiting on them both.

Zachary didn't want to be having this conversation right here, right now, in the middle of a department store with strangers. He'd already been forced to open up to councellors, advisors, lawyers, his parents, and numbers of his peers, and none of it had done any good. What would waxing poetical to these two do to help his cause. Quite frankly, the whole subject was beginning to irritate him, and it showed in the way his shoulders tensed.
"I can't prove it wasn't me because she had a big name lawyer for a daddy and because people will believe anything if the face behind it is sweet enough," he finally snapped, his lip unconsciously curling into a snarl. After a moment, he paused, sighed, and looked away again, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"I'm sorry," the boy said with a quieter tone, "But we've only just finished transfer papers, and it's been a rough thing to accept the entire summer. I had just one year to go, you know? It's frustrating."

Silent Marlo nodded, and surprisingly, Elzo was quite as well, though he was the one to first speak up. "It's cool man. We won't force ya to go deep and s**t." He slapped a hand on Zachary's back. "s**t happens. And don't we know it!" Elzo jabbed an elbow at his brother, who merely smirked as stepped out of range. "But anyway, you said you'd teach me lacrosse right? Think you'd be up for teaching both me and Marlo?" His brother gave him a short glare, and Elzo just tried to jab at him again. "Come on, you need to get out more, or you'll end up all pasty pale."
"Rather pale then looking like a meat sack." Marlo grinned as his brother frowned. "....It's not like it's American football, geez." Putting the clothes on the counter, Marlo nodded to Zachary, "..." "You're blocking the line." Elzo chuckled. "So did we Elzo." "Shut up."

"Yeah, I guess I could teach the both of you," said Zachary, who afterwards decided that he needed to speak no more on the subject. As Marlo prompted him to do so, he quietly put his things on the counter at the other register, looking to the meek girl from before that had been ousted from her break. She said some form of greeting, and he responded with a half-hearted tone, unable to put any sort of life into something so mundane.
Transactions were made, and in the matter of a minute he found himself with a bag weighed down by his new uniforms. He looked up to the two brothers, wondering if he should offer to stay a bit longer or simply send them on their way. Ultimately, he decided that if they wanted him to stick around, they would ask him to, and so he began to wriggle his way free of the line, offering up a wave with his free hand. "I suppose I'll see you two at the start of the term?"

Marlo blank face was utterly unreadable as he nodded to Zachary. Placing a credit card on the counter, he let Elzo and his mouth talk for him. "Sure dude. You said you're a senior right? We might not see you often but hey, We could still hang out right?" Elzo offered his hand. "See in school Zachery!" Silently, Marlo hung at his brother's side. "Good luck." Was the only advice the younger boy offered.
