They ended up going quite a long ways. It was often Uuni could find someone with the free time or the willingness to go with her. And call her crazy, but she loved the long walk out to the tip of the bowl and the trail that laced its way around it's jagged rock edges to a higher point.

It would not have mattered if Kess had asked, Uuni seemed obliged to say all the same. "I haven't been out here in a while," she went on as they walked. Her pace was somewhat faster than it had been before.

When they reached a steeper point of the trail, Uuni expertly 'hid' her bag in plain site; they'd pick them up on the way down. "I don't want to lose my balance with that dang thing," was her reasoning.

"You get up here, and it's amazing. You can see out along to the other side of the Weyr, and the sun sits over like this giant ball of . . . orange. Okay, so it's a shitty description, but just wait 'til you see. Can't stay too long, though. We still have curfew to worry about." Through her description, she went waving her arms this way and that to add some sort of enticement to the whole ordeal. As if the sheer drop to their right and the fact the path was obviously not too well worn towards the top wasn't excitement enough.

Kess didn't want to ruin Uuni's excitement by saying that she knew it was amazing. She'd seen the sight many times, due to living in the weyr all her life. Weyrbrats got into all sorts of shenanagins, when they could. Of course, coming up here with a pretty girl was quite a bit different.

"I've only come at sunrise, myself." That much was true. Kess was an early riser, and the Bowl was beautiful at dawn. One could even watch the dragons take wing.

"By the egg, though, it's much hotter under this sun." Amused, the blonde dropped her bag beside Uuni's, two of her thin, linen overshirts following suit until she was only in her undertunic, tanned, freckled arms exposed to the sunlight. The breeze as they climbed higher was nice against her skin.

When they finally made it, Kess let out a laugh, hands going to her hips as she gave the Bowl a good, long once over. "Brilliant!"

Ew. Sunrise. Uuni couldn't be bothered to ever see that glorious time of day. With her luck, she'd end up Impressed to a dragon that loved early rising. Wouldn't that be fun? Uuni felt tired just thinking about it.

When they did finally make it, Uuni stayed back a bit leaning on the earthen surface to watch Kess. Oh, to have a tan like that. Instead, she just tended to turn red. It was nice to look at, and she occupied herself with this for a while and used the sunset as an excuse.

After she'd caught her breath, she made her way over to a rock that sat out farther and straddled this. She seemed completely undeterred by her potential death at a miscalculation.

"Isn't it?" The rhetorical question was just that: rhetorical. Moving out one arm, she titled her hand to catch the strongest point of the breeze. The sun cast her skin aglow, and it was a pleasant heat rather than the scorching one of the earlier day.

Still, she'd always been a child of the chill. She couldn't wait for winter.

The blonde only looked back once, dark eyes roaming the older girl's body before speaking, her face lighting in a grin. "You look like a glowbasket." That said, she turned back to the setting sun, arms folded across her chest.

As pretty as the sight was, it would be more than a little dangerous to make the hike down in the dark, and Kesslan's belly was beginning to grumble. She'd promised to eat with Rin, as well.

The sunset backlit Kess as she strode away from the edge, a hand going out to Uuni to help her from her perch. "Shall we make our way back?"

"I feel like a glowbasket," she said as she tipped her head back to see the blonde's momentarily upsidedown form. It was wild how quickly her eyes flipped the image.

She looked back forwards and flipped one leg over to join the other when Kess mentioned going back. Taking the girl's hand, she slowly got to her feet. "Such a gentleman's nature," she teased and she lingered close for a few moments while before breaking away.

The way down felt far longer than the way up. In many ways, it was much more frightening. Uuni went slow and kept close to places she could hang onto.

By the time they'd gotten back to the bags, she was feeling rather exhausted and sun seemed to reflect her idea as it was just barely peeking from its resting place.

"Can I sweet-talk you into taking my bag back for me, maybe?" she asked with a grin as they got back to the split in the halls. A bath before bed was in order, and she felt like retiring early.

That as definitely true, and something she was teased for often. Kess was incredibly polite, especially to girls, much like her brother. To be honest, she probably had better manners than her twin, but that made no difference in her current situation.

Instead of answering verbally, the girl [who rarely, blushed, and even if she did, it was well hidden under a tan and healthy flush due to frequent exercise] simply let her gaze drop away briefly, despite not moving an inch or putting distance between their bodies.

Kess had no problems going down, as she was used to having to do it quickly, in time to begin her day's duties. Now though, she went a bit slower and stayed at Uuni's pace, just in case.

Pulling her shirts back over her head, Kess peeked out at the brunette as she slid her long limbs through sleeves, nodding slowly. That lazy grin appeared and she reached out for her fellow Candidate's bag.

"I've a girl to meet that way, anyway. No point in us both heading down there." Rin would probably want to know where she'd been the last few hours, anyway. The girl could be a bit nosy, despite hating gossip.

"I'll see you around, Uuni."

Kess started around the corner, glancing again over her shoulder to drop the brunette a final, amused statement. "It's Kess, by the way."

Just in case she'd forgotten.

Had a girl did she? Uuni smirked despite herself and nodded as though in understanding.

"You enjoy, then." She cast another one of those winks in Kess's direction and turned on her own heel to head off for a bit of relaxing.

When the words reached her ears however, she stopped. With her back turned, Kess probably couldn't see when Uuni rolled her eyes, but the girl was amused all the same.

"Goodnight Kess," she called back with a higher voice due to the distance. Shaking her head and still smiling, she turned her own corner and left her chore-companion behind.
