Well, people are shallow. All Sephiroth is is cool-looking and evil. I mean, there isn't much to him, nor is there much to anybody in FF 7. O_o Cid is probably is the deepest character in it. xd

Kilik Kane What is up with Sephiroth? Why is most Video game forumers love Sephiroth? Why do I see tons of avatars with his hair style or trying to have an outfit like him? I really wanna know. I never thought Sephiroth was a great villian. He was coward and a big one at that. Which bad guy isn't a coward, though ?

The way I see it, most gamers who like Sephiroth are gamers who Sony brought into our culture. They know nothing of Kefka's brutal insanity. They've never heard of Magus, who's a cooler villain than Sephiroth any day of the week. And they've certainly never seen a character with as much sheer awesomeness as Shadow. They like Sephiroth because he's good-looking, because for most of them he was the villain in the first RPG they've ever played. That denotes a kind of specialness. There are so many of them because the PS1 generation attracted so many more people to gaming culture.
There's my theory, anyway. There are exceptions to the rule of course...pre-PS1 gamers who think Sephiroth is the best thing to happen to gaming since controllers, and gamers who joined us during the PS1 generation who don't like him one bit. For the most part, though, the above passage seems to be the case. It also seems to have something to do with age, but that's an obvious connection...there are going to be more 18-year old gamers who have played Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger than there are 13-year old gamers who have done such things, it's just how it works.

It's because he's got the long white hair, the long sword, is badass and almost every raving fangirl wants him.
It's like with poor Vincent. If he used a sword, he'd be about as popular as Sephiroth. Instead, he used a gun and now all the vampire wannabes claim him as their love, blahblah.
