Actually I was inspired by one picture I saw that was beautiful... I wanted to be able draw it so badly...That was a while ago and I have forgotten the picture that I wanted so badly to draw.... hopefully I'll find that picture once again.

I had always drawn as a little kid, and stopped when I was about 10. Two years later my friend's had a manga book (I don't remember the exact name, but it had a red cover with a guy in a bandana) and I took a liking to it. That, however, was not the first time I started drawing manga. My mom lives in Kansas and for the summer, around my birthday, I go there. I got a Barnes and Noble card and saw that book there and spent half of my money on that one and another. That summer I got addicted to the style of Manga, and have been drawing it since =)

mimi-imi I'm not sure if this topic has/was already done, since I only checked the first page. I also apologise if it has, and if it has, please delete this thread, etc. - Like the subject states, "What inspired you?", from Pokemon, to Cowboy Bebop, we've all seen some form of Anime or Manga somewhere, (Or even cartoons like Powerpuff girls) but what inspired you to pick up a pencil and draw, and why? In my case, it had to be Outlaw Star, since I was little, and used to watch it during night times when I had nightmares. Since then I've always had a penchant for spaceships, guns, and that ktarl Ktarl Mi~ My friend inspired me to draw, and then afterwards, the anime Mermaid Melody is what really got me drawing. =3 Yupperz

I don't quite remember what truely inspired me to draw. I used to make fan comics of jurrasic park. Some of them were realy good and impressed a few people. so then I continued. I came up with my own comic.

Well... I don't think I've ever had any motivation to draw. But When I got to Maryland, I've left, my friends was better than me at drawing so now I'm determined to get just as good ,or better, as them

Pokemon. Lots and lots of Pokemon. And Tex Avery cartoons. Lots and lots of Tex Avery cartoons.
Then around Junior year, I decided to suck less and take my art seriously. And that's the story of my life.

My bro (who doesn't draw anymore sad ) Made really awesome pictures when I was real young. He was into anime and stuff, but I was really into the art. So fourth grade is when it all started, drawing on stuff for our cubby hole covers. People were impressed and I kept going and going and got to where I am now razz My second influence was video games biggrin

I'd say probably Inuyasha, which was the anime/manga that I first got into, other than that, maybe some Pokemon and Sailor Moon?

*headdesks*
Damn, I remember what actually got me started with drawing!
BLUE'S CLUES!!!!! I actually had the Handy Dandy notebook and all. rofl
Of course, that was mostly objects. Later on I moved on to Sailor Moon(wtf?), then stopped for probably a year because I got obsessed with origami, then I started drawing Pokemon (who hasn't? xD). Then I got started with drawing characters from Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken, then started on a lot of other fan art. Mmyep.
Also, I saw my brother's old drawings. I guess he inspired me too, altough he stopped drawing a looong time ago. Last thing I remember him drawing was a hand flipping the bird on Ocean Beach. xD

What inspired me to draw was other people drawing, especially a good friend of mine; if it wasnt for him, I wouldnt be drawing right now.
I always loved the art of Manga, seeing the colors and how they are colored, I LOVE the process of drawing people, I love seeing the styles of different artists!
I started a few years ago then stopped completely. It was an on and off thing. But a about two years ago, I drew a character from Street Fighter and I impressed myself with what I just drew that I decided to continue. So I am always practicing and literally drawing EVERY single day. heart
