ElladanKenet So... can you explain the 'new' factions? I tried to explain them in the short histories of the leaders. If they're not clear enough, then I'm willing to flesh them out more.

Read them. Can't say I'm ecstatic.
My first impression is that the roleplay's already too complicated. On top of all of the events being mad eup now, you've invented two entirely new factions.
Plus, you never explain why the Republic is suddenly failing so badly, beside the short paragraph in Bail's entry. You'd think that with such a large military, it wouldn't have fractioned so bad or so fast.
Same goes with the CIS. Save for Dooku and Grievous, all of their leaders should be alive.

Yeah but they're not really military strategists. They're merchants, burecrats, CEO's and politictians. Not Generals.

True, but they are competant enough. The Trade Federation and IBC both had their own paramilitaries, which were folded into the CIS. Surely they still have their own commanders who could be moved up in rank.

I don't see how it's too complicated. I just gave it a lot of backstory to give it more life. As the Clone Wars progressed, the Republic saw itself on the losing side more and more due to the Confederacy being able to produce droids faster than clones, along with the rise of a new general, Tavian Demici. Seeing/thinking that defeat was inevitable, members of the Republic began seceding in large quantities in order to save their worlds, either joining the CIS (including the ones that have been conquered over the time) or making their own "independent" unions. This includes Kamino, who left the Republic due to lack of funds and therefore could not pay for more clone soldiers. However, I can see that this is a lot to happen over ten years. I was considering making it 20 years in order to coincide with ANH, along with giving the history some breathing room.

Not really, but it has interesting ideas. For instance, we get to see the possibility of a 'good' Empire.

From what I can tell, it revolves around further fragmentation in the galaxy, and how the various factions co-exist.

Tensions are rather strained between all the factions. The Republic towards the two trade unions and the Commonwealth for abandonment. The trade unions towards the Confederacy because the latter is really getting in their a** about becoming members. The Confederacy towards the Republic from the war that lasted almost a decade (and vice-versa).
The two trade unions have good relations with each other. The Interstellar Commonwealth is generally neutral with all of the factions, however they have the same issues with the Confederacy that Rimma and the Hydian Federation have, but still keep a tenuous pact.
Meanwhile, the Hutts and Black Sun attempt to take advantage of the high tensions in any way they can, while simultaneously fighting each other.
Which leaves the Jedi trying to keep the galaxy from splitting into chaos.
In short: -Members of any factions' military will mostly be dealing with pirates and possibly the occasional border skirmish
-Jedi will be doing what they can with keeping the peace. Fighting-off pirates, settling disputes, aid missions.
-Pirates will be raiding planets, either faction-aligned or independent.
-Mercenaries will be able to get a job pretty much anywhere. Bounty hunters being hired by crime lords, government representatives (secretly), or governments themselves. Smugglers will mostly be hired by independent planets to get goods in quickly and discreetly, or even one of the major factions. Merc soldier companies will probably be hired by independent planets or major factions as privateers.
And as I said, the primary plot will progress through news updates. It could lead to a multi-front war, a war with alliances, or no war at all.
