Hikari saw the warmth in his smile and sat down on the chair, blushing when he checked her neck. Answering to his question, she said "Um...I saw you one day and I...fell in...l..love at first sight with you...I'm sorry if I've bothered you, following you while you traveled. If you'd like, I can leave.." she said stuttering and nervous, hoping he wouldn't really tell her to leave. Fiddling with her fingers, she looked down at the ground. Waiting for the answer to her question was hard...

"Huh?" Hei's eyes widened suddenly when she spoke her feelings towards him outloud. He stood up and looked down at her, assessing the situation. "Love is a strong word, you know?" He knelt down before her again and smiled. He was sure it was just some minor crush and she'd soon get bored of him. "You should only say that to the man you truly love." He chuckled slightly and held her hand in his for a moment. "You're not bothering me, but you shouldn't speak such words to a merc..." His face straightened a bit and soon a frown formed on his lips.

Replying to his comment, she said " But I do love you...why do you think I've been around you for these past months? " A bit angry he didn't believe her, she sat there with her arms crossed, taking her hand away from him and turned away. " If you don't believe me then fine. I'll just go. " she said, throwing a temper tantrum like a kid. I know I'm being childish but I want him to believe I love him. I do and he doesn't think it's true...

Now Hei had made her upset... The teenager sighed and lowered his head. "Love...?" So she'd been following him for a while. Watching him kill others for money and she still felt such feelings towards him. How was he supposed to respond though? This wasn't a normal situation at all. No girl had ever just come up and said they'd loved him. Hell, he hadn't even really spoken to anyone. He moved forward a bit and placed his hand under her chin, turning her face towards his so he could look into her eyes. "What is your name?" He said gently, almost near a whisper.

Hikari looked into his eyes as her head was slightly lifted up. All traces of anger vanished and she blushed deeply. " Hikari. Hikari Ikeda " she said quietly and turned her head, too nervous to look him in the face anymore. She thought that Hei was a nice person. He fought yes, but inside, Hikari was sure he was a good person. Looking around the room, she saw that it was a tad cluttered. Laughing to herself, she remembered Hei was there and blushed again.

Hei smiled as he saw her blush and found it really cute. "Well, Hikari. Do you really feel that way? I could accept this and possibly return the feeling, but I would like to know more about you first." He smiled and pulled up a chair, sitting down right in front of her as his smile never left his face. It was nice to have some company, especially a beautiful girl, but he just couldn't feel love without knowing anything about her. Yeah, he could tell he liked her from sight alone, but to truly love, he felt as if he needed to know more about her.

"I do, I do!" Hikari said. "You can learn more about me! Of course!" she said, now smiling her brightest. She was obviously happy and she couldn't hide because it was overflowing. I want to learn more about you too! she thought, too embarrassed to say it. Leaning towards his direction, she gave a little peck on his cheek and smiled again, laughing.

Hei gasped just a bit as he felt her lips against his cheek. He really hadn't been expecting that at all, so it took him by surprise. It was nice to know he'd made her so happy though. He took her hand in his once again, being gentle and as kind as possible. "Alright, tell me about yourself, Hikari. You've traveled pretty far into the demon's land to follow me. I'm surprised they didn't notice an angel amongst them." He tilted his head to the side and chuckled a bit. She may have tried covering it up, but just by looking, for some reason, he could just tell she was an angelic being.

Hikari blushed when she found out he knew she was an angel. Hesitating to tell him about herself in case she bored him, she fiddled with the hands again. Finally, she felt she could open up to him. " Well...I was never really liked by my parents. One day....they had a really big fight, Daddy hit Mom and Mom fainted. Daddy also hit me. I woke up in that big hospital to find that Mommy had died and Daddy had left me. I wandered here and there, but then I saw you. That's why I'm so happy nowadays. " she said sad but then progressing to a slight smile. It felt like a weight was lifted off her shoulders now that she had told someone what had happened.

Well, it was a short, but simple story. He didn't mind though, but felt terrible that she'd has such a bad past. It kind of made him blush hearing that he, himself, made her happy. They hadn't even really met eachother before and he was already brightening her days. He wondered how she'd be if he were to hold her close. He was a mercenary though, he shouldn't even be thinking such things. Love was hardly an option considering one of these jobs could very well lead to his death. Either way, she would be hurt it seemed, whether he returned her feelings or not. Hei finally decided what he'd do. The young man moved forward and helped Hikari stand, then wrapped his arms around her and held her close against him.

Hikari could feel the temperature rising in her body as Hei held her close. "Um...Hei? Do...you.. l-like me?" she asked, wondering why he had hugged her. This feeling is warm though... she thought and wrapped her arms around him as well. If this could last forever, I'd be happy for the rest of time... Blushing scarlet red, she couldn't move and wouldn't move, although her forehead seemed to be burning. All of a sudden, she fainted because her temperature was so high.

Hei was about to respond to her question, and it was going to be sincere, but he felt her body go limp as she fainted in his arms. He sighed, catching her instantly and holding her in his arms. He stepped over to his bed and lied her down, putting a blanket over her body and brushing strands of hair from her face. He leaned down and kissed her forehead, deciding to pull up a chair and sit next to her until she woke up.

Waking up, Hikari was a bit dizzy. Noticing Hei was beside her she said not knowing that this WASN'T a dream " I love you Hei.." and smiled. Finally, she woke up completely and her face became flushed. " Uh...thank you Hei.. " she said and turned away. I can not believe I just said that!

Hei was taken off guard by her words yet again, but he recovered almost immediately and leaned forward as she turned away, placing his hand under her chin and gently turning her head to face him. He reached over and kissed her forehead, smiling as he pulled away. "Open yourself to me because I love you, too." He tilted his head a bit, his smile widening, as he leaned forward once again, his lips brushing against hers for a moment before pulling back. "Forgive me." He said, lowering his head, feeling his cheeks get a little warm. He thought she'd get a little upset if he'd kissed her, so he had pulled away right before he could do something that might make her feel violated. She may love him, but that didn't mean she was ready to be kissed by him.

When the angel had left, Kasumi's mother turned to Kasumi. "What do you think of that one?" she asked. "I-I don't want to be married," Kasumi said. Kasumi's father sighed. "You know the law. You must be married before you can become queen. And you must become queen soon. There is a chance of you being assassinated. You must become queen! A princess should not put herself before the kingdom!" he exclaimed. This is what Kasumi had to live with: parents who were eager to see their daughter on the throne, whether she wished it or not. What they didn't know, however, was that she was putting the kingdom first by trying to end the war. "Hm...I'll think about it," she said, just to make him happy. "Good. Now you may go to think," her father said, dismissing her. Kasumi stood up and left. She walked through the halls, trying to keep her mind off Isamu, as some angels could read minds. She knew her father was right about the risk that she would be assassinated. There had already been a large number of attempts on her life. They will eventually succeed in killing me... she thought. She knew that Isamu couldn't protect her directly, as that would label him as a traitor and get him killed. She had no bodyguard, and that made things a bit more dangerous.
((Eh. Not the best ending to a post, but I don't have a whole lot of time, so it will have to do.))
