Jivu shrugged. "You best follow me then, before I change my mind," she replied in a somewhat reluctant-sounding voice, picked up the meat she had torn off and started walking deeper into the jungle. 'Dani frowned and hissed into her ear, causing the growing lioness to shake her head and growl in response, earning a small laugh from the fully-grown cobra. She twisted around to smile at the lion. "Come along now," 'Dani hissed pleasantly. "She'ssss really not assss bad assss she'ssss making hersssself out to be."

Chane grabbed his hunk of meat and followed after her. His attempts to hurry were hindered by the way he favored his front right leg, but fortunately she wasn't going all that fast and was easy enough to keep up with.
At the growl he dropped his head a little lower. Not being used to lion customs he didn't want to do anything to accidentally anger her. When the snake spoke up, though, he felt a wave of relive. Maybe the lioness wasn't all too friendly, but her companion was. For the second time that night he silently apologized for contemplating the consumption of the serpent.
He tried to thank the smaller creature but with the huge chunk of meat in the way all that came out was a muffled groan.

It didn't take overly long to reach the cave. It was small, with a ceiling not much higher than their heads, and just deep enough to fit maybe four or five lions comfortably. Jivu sat down just outside the entrance, setting down the food. 'Dani curled down from her neck, and circling down her leg to slither into the grass. "Off hunting?" Jivu asked, tilting her head a bit to one side. "Yeah. Don't do anything I wouldn't do," the snake hissed back in a highly amused tone before slithering off. Jivu rolled her eyes a bit and glanced over at the lion. "You can use the cave for a few days if you need it. I don't really care."

Chane mimicked the lioness's movements, setting his own hunk of meat down by the entrance and peaking inside. It was big enough for him to feel comfortable, but small enough that nothing would be able to sneak around in there with him. He couldn't have asked for better.
When the snake spoke he turned to stare at her. What did that mean? Did she want them to start slithering around? He shook his head. That was probably too literal a translation.
"It's much appreciated," he said, offering the lioness a weary smile. "I'll move on as soon as I can. Don't worry."

Jivu looked him over again. She honestly wasn't used to helping others. Really. She was more likely to be a pain in the a** than helpful. Why was she helping him again? Oh, that's right. Pity and all that. "Yeah, yeah, whatever," she replied, waving one paw in a dismissive action before she picked her food up again and quickly climbed up into a nearby tree. Though she was raised in a cave, her mother had taught her early on how to climb trees. She actually felt very comfortable in them.
The dark lioness stretched out along the branch, still in view of the male and set the food down in front of her, tearing off a bite and swallowing it whole. "What's your name, anyways?" she asked, realizing she hadn't prior.

He lay down at the entrance of the cave. Far enough in that he'd feel comfortable falling asleep, but close enough to the entrance to see her up in the tree. "It's Chane," he yawned. "Did you tell me yours?"
Despite his idle talk he was falling asleep fast. All that he'd been through since leaving the village had taken it's toll and his body demanded rest.

"Jivutatia," she replied shortly, liking at the meat idly. "And the snake's Mwandani." She watched him pass out, more or less and went back to eating. She couldn't help but wonder how long he'd really be sticking around. Maybe she should just go stay with her parents for a while. Or find a new place to crash.

He was asleep before she finished speaking. He didn't wake up the next day, but if she checked on the third she'd find the cave empty and the last of the meat he'd taken missing. He didn't intend his sudden departure to make him seem ungrateful. Truthfully it was the only way he knew to show his thanks. Get out of her hair.
(( EDIT: If you want to post again that's fine by me. I'm just moving it to my finished list. Thanks and if you'd ever like to RP again just tell me! ))
