"She would probably chastise us for getting all wet, fret about us catching a cold or some such thing"
Chiv remarked cheekily before laying down beside Mene head resting on her paws as she blinked rather sleepy from their morning activities, flicking an ear to dislodge an annoying gnat she smiled to herself.
"I'm glad we met too Mene, I hope this pack when we get to it will turn out to be a nice place to stay."
She remarked and although she didn't really say it out loud Chiv hoped..a nice place to raise puppies as well, the thought crossed her mind that Mene would make a fine father - he was playful and kind after all. Of course such thoughts belonged in the future and she was here to enjoy the present. Giving a large yawn she closed her eyes.

He had glanced over in time to catch a glint of hopefulness in her eye's and it made him smile. "I hope so too. To make our already growing family of three larger with happy souls is a beautiful future to me." He looked back to the sky. He'd seen more in her eye's, other things. Other emotions he assumed. Though he'd never say a word he considered her eye's to be most beautiful he's ever seen, and her colors well suited her. "Do you ever think of starting your own pack? Being a leader?" He asked her, a soft smile on his spread lips.

the question caught Chiv somewhat off guard and he opened a eye to glance a him as she mulled it over in her mind. A leader? her?...well maybe once or twice though never seriously...of course she'd never had a reason to before either.
"Well...it's something to think about, our little group does work well together..do you think Merril would stay?"

Menelaus enjoyed his catching her off guard. Loved watching her face pull into thinking mode and then the happiness light up in her eye's as she found what she was thinking about. "I think she would.. she seems very good at knowing when someone needs her.. she'd be very needed here being she is the only one with real pack experience, unless you have before?" He asked. He knew only what his instincts told him when it came to leading and thus he wasn't overly poor at it but, he wasn't as experienced as Merril and that experience is something they'd need.

Chiv confessed pursing her lips together in thought, they would definitely need Merril no two ways about it. Sure they could probably find others with experience looking for a home - but she got on well with the mountain wolf and was quite fond of her.
"Perhaps we can ask her when she wakes up, see what she thinks"

Menelaus nodded, it seemed like a very good idea to toss that at Merril. Sure the sounds of going to a pack seemed amazing. the fun they could have, the adventures, the pups, the family like feel. But, they were great on their own. "We could be the alphas!" He stated boldly, not thinking of the underlining meaning to that. He smiled to her and wagged his tail happily. "And with Merril by our sides we'd be an unstoppable team, just like we are now." His eye's were on her, sparkling with excitement and joy.

Chiv wagged her tail - sure the idea seemed a bit out there for two wolves with no previous experience but Mene's excitement was infectious and she leapt to her feet with a happy bark.
"Lets go see if she's awake"
The tri-colored femme stated - no longer wishing to squander her morning in the field. Without truly waiting for Mene she rushed off into the woods - although she was fairly sure the grey wolf would follow.

It was a brief moment before Mene leaped to follow her. The excitement fueled him into a sprint and it didn't take long to get back. He hoped that Merril would be awake. To relieve himself and Chiv.
